I think Bowers & Wilkins has created a "sweet spot" in their speaker line up, revamping the old CM line with so much technology borrowed from the flagship Diamond models. I just purchased this HTM71 to replace my less than a year old CM Centre2 S2, but being such a fan of the Diamond series, I knew I had to have the new 700 series center and front towers. The new HTM71 is identical in size and weight to the old CM Centre2 S2, but that's where the similarity ends. The new HTM71 has a new carbon tweeter that replaces the old double dome aluminum, and the new continuum mid replaces the old kevlar, and last but not least the new Rohacell woofers replace the old paper and fiber. Is there a difference in sound, not only yes, but HECK YEAH. The new carbon tweeter is less harsh but yet has a higher frequency response and is clearer and more pleasing to the ear, and the new continuum mid is about as flat neutral perfect without any sort of color as I've ever heard. Far as the woofers go I can't tell a big difference that I can speak of. Overall, there is no listening fatigue at all with this speaker. This new HTM71 is more expensive than the old CM, but I believe worth every penny and then some. It's basically a Diamond on a budget, and B&W better be careful, because these are going to be so good that nobody will want to dish out the big money to buy the diamonds when these are almost as good, and they are, just amazing speakers, and the fit and finish is also every bit as impressive as the sound.

If you are looking for the movie experience and are serious about it, then this is definitively it. Every frequency across the spectrum is covered, you will hear a pin drop to a car exploding in clear HD audio. I have Cm6 B&W bookshelves as my wife wasn’t with the tower look and they match up very well. I consider this an investment long term and a fine investment it is. Having a 4 k tv and not experienced the superb audio that exceeds the video experience was a problem, now I can enjoy my home theatre system and enjoy more movies with the whole family, as they are all fans of this wonderful work of art. To say that the price was too much is only a comparison that can be made when one never hears such a blissful and angelic reproduction of audio delight. Having spent time auditioning this marvel of modern ingenuity for a week now, it simply has no weakness in the frequency range that it is designed for, the lowest lows is not the realm for center channels but it does play the lower mid to highest lows with accuracy 80-100hz range is the lowest this thing should be playing at. Highly recommend especially with an external amp that can drive it.

Mind BLOWING! The sound that comes out of this thing can literally, (and I'm not kidding.) MAKE A MAN, CRY.
I've had mine for 3 years now and it's worth every penny. I can't even imagine what the step-up (800 series) sounds like...that one must make you wanna, smack yo mama!

Great Center Channel

This speaker is perfect when paired with other B&W 7 Series speakers . When watching a movie the voices are so clear and pronounced. The center channel is the speaker responsible for voices when watching movies . I like it so much I sometimes listen to music in multi channel stereo because it sounds so good . I would definitely recommend this product to other people .
