The headphones function well when using the app. I used them first without the app and they kept cutting out. Seems to work better with the app. Good quality, still breaking them in. Prefer the B&W sound over Bose. Own multiple products from both.

I bought these and the Bose at the same time. The Bose were lighter and sounded punchier, but I preferred the natural sound of the B&W. I brought the Bose back and kept the B&W.

Most beautiful headphones on the market. Great sound quality. Worked perfect on a recent flight and eliminated all the engine buzz. Only minus is that they dont fold. Otherwise I highly recommend them.

This is one of the best looking headphones I’ve ever purchased however the ear cushions are kind of hard and it really clamps down on your head. The sound quality produced it’s kind of harsh when paired with an iPhone Although i’ve heard that it’s optimized with the android system or when hooked directly via wire to a home stereo. Also they had a newer version of their app that didn’t pair so easily with the iPhone. Nevertheless I returned them because due to the discomfort of the set I don’t think I could be wearing them for more than half an hour.

I had great deal of trouble with the bluetooth side of these headphones , they connected fine to my Apple XR . I could not get them to produce sound on bluetooth on my pc with windows 10 . They would flash white/blue ( looking for a connection) and never work on pc . After hours of play with drivers and settings , I took them back . My experience with B&O customer service was not good . So a few e-mails later is when I decided to just take them back. Sound was fairly good ,better than the QC for sure, comfort level is only OK .

Best build quality I’ve seen on headphones in awhile. I had a pair of Sony’s for the same price but they didn’t last as long as I believe these will. Sound is like listening to the actual singer.

Top of the line head phones, great sound modes (office, ambient). Only downfall is lack of volume control in app and bluetooth connection very spotty - very hard to connect.

Bowers & Wilkins PX beat Sony WH-1000XM2

I bought the Bowers & Wilkins PX and the Sony WH-1000XM2. I kept the B&Ws. The sound of the B&Ws is wonderful. The voices and instruments are well defined and clearly detailed. The attack and decay of instruments is crisp. The dynamic range is wide. Cymbals sound like cymbals. Bass is strong and goes low. On the other hand, the Sonys lacked definition and sounded flat and a bit lifeless. The Sony’s are competent and cover the frequency range but don’t bring the music to life the way the B&Ws do. The B&W drivers are angled toward your ears. I think this contributes to the lifelike “sound stage.” The Sony’s drivers are flat. The B&Ws are a joy to look at – just beautiful; the Sonys look ho hum. The B&Ws are sturdily constructed of aluminum; the Sonys are mostly plastic. The B&Ws hold snugly on to my head; the Sonys slide back often, especially if I tilt my head back for that last sip of wine. Both sets of heaphones are comfortable and I wear glasses. The B&W charging cable can just be plugged in – there is no upside down; the Sonys use micro USB which needs to be oriented correctly to be plugged in. The B&W can be played over USB from a computer, which is a way to maintain a 100% digital signal path from the source to the headphones. The Sonys don’t operate when plugged in to charge on USB. The B&Ws turn themselves on when you put them or and also when you plug them in. They shut themselves off a while after you take them off. The same actions require a button push on the Sonys or else they keep running and using power. The raised buttons on the B&Ws are easier to find by sense of touch than the buttons on the Sonys which are flush with a slight ridge. The B&W provide good passive noise isolation due to the tight cushion around the ear. The Sonys were not as good. The B&W active noise cancellation was less audible than the Sonys. But, I didn’t need either. Unboxing the B&Ws was delightful; Sony was so-so. When you register your B&Ws you are given two months access to a high definition audio subscription service that has some excellent and enjoyable recordings to show off your new headphones. The Sonys beat the B&Ws in a few areas: The Sonys are more immune to interference between Bluetooth and WiFi when both are on the same 2.4 GHz band, in my case to stream high resolution music from a local music server. The B&Ws are susceptible to interference which causes annoying audio dropouts. The fix is to use the 5 GHz band for WiFi. B&W customer support was very helpful via email on this issue. The Sonys will operate if the battery is dead. The B&W will not. The Sony app is much better and allows sound equalizaion; the B&Ws does not but is otherwise just adequate. The Sony uses voice prompts to tell you things like “bluetooth connected.” The B&Ws use tones which must be interpreted, but you learn them quickly. The Sony touch pad is cool and lets you adjust volume and skip songs. The B&W just uses buttons. The Sonys can use the LDAC codec which Sony claims is better than aptX HD which B&W uses. I did not try this but I am a sucker for specs. For both sets of headphones the sound is more full when plugged in than when using bluetooth. I’m glad I tried the Bowers & Wilkins PX and think I will love them for a long time. I don’t want to take them off.

Incredible Sound But A Bit Buggy

I have never tried a pair of Bowers and Wilkins headphones and I am glad I got to try the PX's. They are an astonishing pair of headphones with amazing true to the artist sound quality, great battery life, phenomenal design, and excellent noise cancellation. 1: I have been listening to the PX's non-stop since I received the shipment a day ago and even with the break in period required for optimal sound quality they still sound really great to me. The highs are super crisp with fantastic vocal clarity while the bass isn't really overpowering but instead provides that balanced punch needed to get you jamming along with the song. 2: I think what really separates these headphones from its competitors is the design and build quality. As soon as you pop the box off to reveal the headphones you can instantly tell that they are a premium set of headphones. They are mostly all metal which does make them heavy but I didn't find them uncomfortable. I saw a bit of people complaining about them being too tight and I too experienced this but within 10 minutes of listening they had already loosened up. I absolutely love the ear cup design and how deep they are. They are able to cover the entirety of my ear to create a seal around them which helps tremendously with noise cancellation and also helps against sound leakage. One last thing about design that I'd like to mention is the physical buttons to control your music are very simple to operate and easy to reach. The volume up and down buttons are separated by the pause/play button which is a slightly elevated bump so you can tell which button you're pressing so it's a nice touch. 3: The smart features included with the PX's is awesome when it works but annoying when it doesn't. Lifting an ear cup pauses the music and continues it when you put it back against your ear. I found that the right ear cup is buggy when it comes to this feature and probably because all of the controls are on that side. I would lift the ear cup to pause the music and set it back down but the song would restart back to the beginning. Now I only found this is buggy when you initially start listening to music but after a song or two the smart features seem to work flawlessly. Lifting either ear cup pauses the music and setting the headphones down will do the same as well as put the headphones in sleep mode to save battery. As soon as you put them back on the music comes back on too. The smart features also work with YouTube! So if you're watching a video and you need to pause it for whatever reason you can take the headphones off and the video will pause (Note: Using Google Pixel with Android 8.0). 4: Battery life and connection is something Bowers and Wilkins should be very proud of with the PX's. 22 hours of battery life is truly amazing and since they use smart power technology you will definitely go without charging them for a long while. And when you do need to charge them they use USB - C which is significantly faster than micro USB that most of the competitors use. Note that you could also operate the PX's with an AUX cable plugged in instead of using Bluetooth and all the smart features still function but the headphones do still need to be powered on but battery life will be significantly improved. B&W should also be extremely satisfied with connection performance. My PX's stayed connected with no cut offs from my room all the way to the kitchen which is separated by 3 walls and is an approximate distance of 55 feet away. Conclusion: I am digging the PX's and all aspects of them. Sure they might be a bit buggy when you first start listening to them after they've been powered off but it corrects itself quickly. I love the true to the artist sound quality and listening to the music as it was intended. The noise cancellation is good enough for me and with the ability to adjust it based on your environment is a great key feature to have to stay aware of your surroundings. Their rugged and stylish design is for sure an eye turner. They check off all the boxes I would want in a premium set of headphones and therefore deserve 5 stars and I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for that true balanced crisp and clear sound lacking in some of the competitors.
