Premium headphones
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bowers& Wilkins - PX Wireless Over-the-Ear Headphones Included- headphones, charging cable, traveling case. I absolutely love these headphones. I honestly had never heard of Bowers & Wilkins so I didn't know what to expect from these headphones, but this is a premium product. I already own a B & O noise cancelling wireless over the ear headphone and these B & W headphones are similar to them. The controls on this set are actual buttons on the right side, that you press to work the volume, skip, play, etc.. It takes a little bit of time to figure out what button you need to press and where it is since you can't see while you're wearing it. The sound quality is great. There are songs that I've heard hundreds of times and yet there are things that I've never noticed before without the headphones. You really hear so much more of the music. I've listened to my music for hours wearing them and they are comfortable. I love that there is a noise cancelling option. It hard for me to tell if it is on or off though. It would be nice if there was some sort of audible cue to tell me either way. It seems the same to me either way but I guess I haven't had much background noise to tune out. The biggest thing I love is that it automatically knows to pause my music if I lift one ear or take them off completely. And then the music resumes when they are back on. I think that is the best feature by far. The traveling case is nice. It closes with a hidden magnet. There is an inside pocket that fits the charging cable so it doesn't get lost in the bottom. There is an app but I haven't downloaded it yet. You can use the headphones without it which is nice. Everything nowadays comes with an app and it's nice to have but I'm also glad it's not required. I totally love these headphones. I highly recommend them. I'm very happy with them.

Excellent Noise Cancelling, Great Sound
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very adjustable, which means out of the box they may not be the perfect fit/grip but can make them comfortable with a little effort. It's important, it seems, to have the fit close to exactly right because if these headphones become too loose, they seem to auto-detect that they are off your head and stop playing sound (will pause on compatible devices). In many cases, that is exactly what you want to happen when you take off your headphones, however if they're just loose this can be an issue (which is fixable). I accidentally tested the noise cancelling feature while brushing my teeth with an electric toothbrush, with music playing on medium volume (not too loud), and I heard pretty much no sound from the toothbrush or running water (just felt vibrations in head and noises from that). I was quite impressed by that alone. The sound quality is very good (crisp, deep, clear, loud), though I think you appreciate it more with some sound sources or songs more than others. I was playing some music at a decent volume and was noticing I could almost FEEL the music beyond just my ears, into my arms and almost my legs like I might with a traditional stereo system (an experience I don't often get with headphones). I admittedly needed to open the manual on this product to figure out how to power it on and pair it, while it was easy there was not clear labeling as to which button/switch did what on the device itself. Admittedly, too much labeling does take away from the aesthetics of the product perhaps. Pairing with my notebook PC (Windows) gave me some minor issues (had to re-pair several times), but otherwise pairing to a Samsung TV and a Samsung Smartphone both worked seemingly without issues. Overall, I think these are excellent quality and probably worth it.

High quality sound device
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These headphones are very well made and come with a nice soft case. Connecting them is simple and the sound is amazing. They are comfortable and I look forward to wearing them while sleeping and traveling. So far my battery is lasting a very long time and they hardest part about them is keeping them away from wife wanting to use them. You may have to buy an extra pair. They are expensive but worth the quality and pleasing sound.

Here's what the PX can really do
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm beyond excited to have the Bowers and Wilkins PX hit the market, although from what's listed here on bestbuy.com, you'd never know just how great these headphones are. So I have some more details on what makes them so special. First, sound quality. As a general disclaimer, like basically all products in this category, these headphones also have a burn in period before they hit full stride. Even with this period I still felt their sound quality was slightly better than other ANC's. After using them for a while, the accuracy and clarity on these is unmatched. If you're looking for booming, head rattling bass, pass these up. However, if you love hearing open highs, insane detail, and music exactly the way artists intend, then you've found the right pair of headphones. Don't get me wrong, these headphones pack a respectable punch when it comes to bass. However, if you're familiar with Bowers, true to their sound signature, the bass is accurate, punchy, and defined. Mids are very crisp, and all around these sound exceptional. The PX boasts the same exact drivers found in Bowers $900 Signature P9 headphones. Also, I've found the angling of the drivers right into your ear makes a difference over other drivers that are flat, and slap sound around against the side of your skull. Second, noise cancelling. It is of my opinion the sound quality alone is worth well over the $400 these cost. Yet they also have noise cancelling that's phenomenal. The free companion app has three preset noise cancelling settings: office, city, and flight. As the titles suggest, each one cancels out specific types of sounds. On top of this, there's an adjustable voice pass through level that ranges from minimal to normal to amplified. For example, city NC will remove to an impressive level sounds of street and foot traffic, while amplifying vocals. So if someone yells "Watch Out!!" while you're rocking out to a sweet rift, you hear them. I haven't tried flight or office, but from feedback I've heard, in flight is the most impressive. No engine noise, and just enough voice passthrough to hear the flight attendants, adjustable of course. Third, they're SMART. Like every wireless headset, you have to hit the power button to turn them on. With the PX, you hit it once and only once unless you change Bluetooth pairings. After linking these to your phone, when you grab them, they turn on, and when you're not using them (say you set them on the table for a while) they turn off. When you put them on your ear, they automatically connect to your phone and start playing from the last spot you paused your music. If you pull one side off your ear, the music pauses. You take them off your ear, the music pauses. Put it back on, it plays. Plus, unlike other headphones, it's not just an accelerometer, so if you start jumping around, the music won't start playing. There's who knows how many sensors on these things, but once you get used to when and how they work, it's really impressive and super easy. You genuinely don't need to turn them on or off again. Fourth, design and additional specs. Design wise, on the right ear is the power button which you don't need (mentioned above), a button to turn on and off the noise cancelling, a volume up and down button, and in between the up and down button is a play/pause button that skips to the next track if you double tap it. The play/pause button sticks out so you can feel it after just one or two times of getting used to it. Great ergonomics. Battery life is even more impressive. Industry leading at 22 hours NC on, 30+ hours NC off, and 50+ hours plugged in. Plugged in how? Using either the included usb C cable or 3.5 cable. With usb C these headphones charge at a ridiculously fast rate, twice that of other micro usb options available. Also, for high res, hi-fi enthusiasts, you can play music from your computer with these headphones plugged in to the usb port and it'll send the audio straight to the DAC inside the headphones. Incredibly convenient and more affordable than having to buy a seperate high-res output for your computer. Fifth, build quality. I'd like to preface this section by saying, if you can't drop your current headphones or bend them out of fear of them breaking or snapping, do you really want them anyways? There's not a single bit of plastic on these. The frame is made of anodized aluminum, the band high grade nylon, and the comfortable earpiece is made of genuine sheepskin leather. Bowers also recognizes the first thing to wear out is that earpiece, which means you'll lose part of the seal and passive noise cancelling these headphones do so well. To solve this, the earpiece is removable just by pulling it off (magnetic), and you can purchase a replacement for not too much at all. You can twist them, drop them, any form of normal everyday wear and they'll hold up without any issues. I wouldn't go tossing them off buildings or anything, but they're built to last, not built to profit. They even come with a really nice pouch to store them in with a little pocket for the included usb and 3.5 cable. These are truly high grade, high quality headphones. The design is gorgeous. Not flashy, but they stand out. Highly streamlined and stylish, yet reserved look. Every piece of these headphones was engineered with a purpose, and the final product really showcases this. You'd have to spend twice as much to get anything anywhere near the quality of the Bowers PX. At $399, these are, in my experience, hands down the best headphone on the market at this price point. Bowers and Wilkins doesn't have sales, and there products don't go on promotion (seriously, never), so don't hesitate on picking these up now. You'll just be disappointed for the time you didn't have them.

Great headphones if you stay away from bass music.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. They are amazing headphones if you listen to certain music. Great highs and mids but are terrible when it comes to bass. Any music with heavy bass will produce an awful sound in mid volume.

Amazing headphones all the way around!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These headphones are excellent! Their build quality is amazing, the sound quality is on par with a lot of audiophile headphones I've used, and even have bluetooth! The noise cancellation could be improved slightly, but it doesn't outweigh the amazing sound quality on these headphones. I did notice there is some noise leakage at moderate volume, so if you're looking to not disturb others around you, this may not be the pair of headphones for you. If you're looking to jam out in amazing clarity with extremely well balanced response in a sturdy, well built pair of headphones, these are definitely for you! Side note, you can tweak the sound cancellation settings by using their downloadable app from your mobile app store. The app can be a little slow to connect, but you only need to use the app to tweak the noise cancellation levels. You can still turn the noise cancellation on and off from the side button on the headphones.

Best sounding wireless cans
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve had these for just over 24 hours at the time of this review. The designed and build quality is great. One thing I will say is I wish the were a little lighter and didn’t hug my ears. They’re not uncomfortable just not as comfortable as others on the market such as the Bose. I love the standby feature and mute feature they have. Sound quality to me was great with or without nc on. Also would like to note the noise cancelling was good enough for me. Overall they’re great headphones. I wasn’t blown away buy the Sony’s and the nose feel cheap to me.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I couldn't find anywhere to try these new B&W PX headphones before purchasing. I drove miles to BB they claimed they had it on display, but when I got there they didn't. I love the sounds coming out of the P5, P7 headphones so I took a chance without trying. Everything everyone posted I found I was in the middle of all of them from the headphone being heavy, a tad uncomfortable, app is buggy, NC isn't as good as the latest Bose/Sony headphones, high quality material to the sound is phenomenal... they are all true. I owned 2 pairs of Bose and a pair of Sennheiser; Bose sounds are average, I like my Sennheiser better in the same price category. I even tried the latest Bose QC35 II headphones, the NC is so awesome even without music on. You are in another world, but the sound is very familiar to all my other Bose headphones, muffle... not clear. Same with Beats Studio 3 a lot of bass but the sound isn't as clear. I put on the B&W PX and it is exactly like I imagine the quality is what I want, crystal clear. I feel it is on par with B&W P7, even though I haven't listened to both at the same time. For some reasons I enjoy the sound of B&W PX with the NC Office on better than NC off, strange!!! I thought the 24 hours break-in was a gimmick, but after the first full charged I've noticed the sound is better than the first few days I used it. My relative is in the market for a wireless headphone as well. She enjoys the wired Bose headphones I gave her and she isn't nitpicking with high quality sound; but she would complain about NC if it isn't that good. I told her to get a Bose QC35 I or QC35 II, she wouldn't be happy with B&W PX. While writing this review, I found another bug... :( I removed it from my head and the music didn't stop!!!

Annoying cracking sound
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Expected more from a $400 headphone. After a week of use and updating to the new firmware, a faint cracking sound started occurring on the left ear. Progressively got worse and louder. Eventually got tired of it but I couldn’t get an exchange at Best Buy as it is past their 15 day return policy when I finally was able to return to the store. Safe to say I wouldn’t be buying high value items from here again.

1st headphones owned with a learning curve!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I don't think I've ever heard used more acoustically accurate headphones! But these are the 1st headphones I've ever owned where I actually HAD to read the instructions and download the companion application to use them. They're not small but they're very comfortable. They can be used wired or wirelessly and you can turn on/off the noise canceling. You can also adjust the amount of outside noise you can hear based on where you are! They will start and stop your music based on whether they're on/off your head or if you lift them off your ear. In fact you don't even have to turn them off...they go into standby mode when you remove them and then shut down until you pick them up again! These are for the casual/occasional listener, but for someone who is serious about music they're ideal!

Buggy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I agree with the other reviewers that the sound and build quality are excellent. I was also considering the Bose QC II and the Sony 1000mx2. The PX firmware however is a little buggy. First day, I was able to pair easily to my iPhone 6 and iPad 5th gen. Next day, after I bought the iPad Pro 10.5, I tried pairing and ended up having to reset the headphones. Now in order to pair, I must reset each time and pair anew to either my iPhone or iPad Pro. The manual tells me I can pair with up to 8 devices, not really. As well, I find the on/off sensor inconsistent. If I am sitting and need to take it on and off a lot, the headphones may or may not restart. I was really hoping for a more seamless experience having owned other B&W products. My husband has the Bose QC I headphones, and that experience has been flawless. I will give these PX headphones a few more days, but they may be going back. Thankfully I had the foresight to buy the extended warranty for an extra $100. I would recommend these headphones with the caveat that it’s definitely a first generation product. Perhaps a firmware update would help.

Ok at best
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Bowers and Wilkins PX is no doubt a nice wireless headset. It stands out against other noise cancelling headphones in this price range due to its quality. It feels very solid, and has a decent weight to it. However, that is about all there is to say to it. As a pair of headphones, it is pretty average. There are many minor quirks that eventually add up. To begin, the noise cancellation is very mediocre. It is nowhere near the Bose QC 35, but it's better than nothing. It does drown out certain frequencies. It was able to drown out much of my bathroom fan. Although I was unable to test this in an airplane, I have no doubt it would do decently. The comfort level of these headphones took a little getting used to. It has more clamping force than other overear headphones I've tried, but they don't hurt even after an hour of use. Don't be surprised if you find yourself fidgeting with it until it gets comfortable, but when you get that sweet spot, you don't have to change it again. I like the auto sensor built in the headphone. It's very convenient to have it auto stop when I take them off, and start when I put them on. However, as with most sensors, it is not 100% perfect. I've had the sensor activate when I yawn, and sometimes it takes quite a while after I put them on for the music to auto play again. This is definitely something that could be fix with a firmware update, so hopefully it is something they will look into. The final annoyance I had to deal with is that I've been having minor hiccups when I play music. I'm not ranking this very high, because it's possible it is my phone. However, I never had this problem with any other bluetooth headphone/speaker before. It is also possible the sensors are activation very briefly, causing a quick pause and play sequence. Overall, these headphones were okay. At the price range it's at, I can't really recommend them just because of their brand name. Compare to headphones in this range, even headphones that are $50-100 cheaper, will out-perform it in many ways.

Good headphones with crisp sound
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased these headphones and think they were a good buy they have plenty of great features like the high definition Bluetooth with 24-bit resolution wireless streaming. This is a great feature not having to deal with annoying wires pulling out of your phone or iPod. I also love the battery life of the headphones, it provides you with 22 hours of active use from a single charge. There’s a rechargeable battery and I just plug them in at night when I realize the battery is low and it’s good to go in the morning. I also like that it has a built-in microphone so you to make and receive calls. The best feature is the noise cancellation. You download an app and can adjust according to your setting. It’s had three environmental filters: flight, city and office. I use this all the time depending on where I am and it completely changes the quality of the music. It has a feature called natural user interface which includes built-in sensors that handle functions such as stopping audio playback when you remove the headphones. So anytime you gotta take them off real quick the music stops and as soon as you put them back on it starts where you left off. I do wish the sounds was a bit louder but I’m pretty picky about that. I like my headphone to play very loud and these don’t quite seem to get there. The sound quality is as crisp as headphones come though and I’m glad I picked these up.

Almost perfect! 9/10 Sound, 10/10 in versatility
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sound quality is excellent for headphones at this price range. The PX sure sounds much better than any similarly priced earbuds or over-the-ear headphones. Basses have depth, accurate, not bloated with EQ. The only minor criticism is the upper bass (e.g.cello and classical guitar which I have both studied in music school and continue to play) sounds tight and not relax. Timbre as a result is bit muddled. Yo-Yo Ma's cello suites illustrate this point clearly. Trebles are clear and open. Voices are balanced and have a strong presence in vocal music. Overall, sound quality is excellent yet short of perfect over the musical range but the PX is certainly good enough for music listening in any ACN-required situation. What's perfect, however is PX's versatility. Bluetooth audio is exceptionally good, 3.5mm wired input is good (but not as good as bluetooth, to my surprise), and the direct USB DAC audio is acceptable (the least in quality among the 3 input modes). Pairing is as easy as it gets, up to 8 devices. I've tried 4 and all good. The app provides good support and updates. ANC in office and street environments work fine. I have not yet tried the flight mode. Overall, the PX is an excellent additional to any smart phone with or without ANC.

Amazing headphones!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've used a lot of premium headphones in my time time going back to the days of the Koss Pro AAA. I was impressed with these Bowers & Wilkins - PX Wireless headphones. I wanted to take a couple of trips before I wrote the review. The noise cancelling feature was as good or better than other premium brands. I was really impressed with the battery life and nice carrying case. These also function as headset for your phone. The soft gold color is right on trend and invites a lot of comments from people who see them.

Impressive
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Packaging was very nice and it came with a soft traveling case. Set up was very easy. The sound was amazing, very clear and crisp. It was very comfortable even after listening for a long period of time. I liked that the unit would pause automatically when one ear was removed and unpaused when earpad was put back on the ear. Some users said this was annoying but not enough to give one less star. Overall, the sound, comfort and features was the reason why I gave it five stars. Looks and feels very expensive.

I wanted to like these
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Let me start off by saying my wife thinks I have a headphone problem. I will often buy 2-3 new pairs a year but I like switching between different options. I had been eyes the B&W P7 wireless headphones then they came out with these. I read reviews, watched the videos, and visited the subreddits. Everyone recommended them so I picked up a pair. First off, these are extremely stylish and exude luxury. These are extremely well-built consisting mainly of metal, some plastic, and leather. The gold and blue colors really blend well and they are my favorite looking headphones. The earpads are easily replaceable (B&W even offers replacements) and are held on with magnets. These are also feature packed. You can take them off your ears and the music will automatically pause, put them back on and the music plays. You can take a phone call just by putting on the right earcup and they hang around my neck with ease (and I have a wide neck). The included carrying pouch is nicer than most pouches but it still feels cheap especially when Bose, Beats, Sony, and V-Moda are including more rigid cases better suited for protection when traveling. B&W did go with USB-C for charging these and that is very welcome. They don't work passively when the internal battery is drained but they don't take long to charge. Sound quality is good but it varied too much for me. B&W favors mid-bass instead of low-bass like many others. I was fine with it but I prefer the punchier low-bass. Still, details in the PX could be easily heard and I could easily pick instruments out. The highs were crystal clear but not fatiguing. B&W uses modern codecs via Bluetooth, Android users can take advantage of aptX and aptX-HD while iPhone/iPad/Mac users willy rely on AAC. The companion app doesn't do much for the headphones. It's pretty bare-bones and lets you adjust the ANC for various environments, nothing special but at least there's an app to control things. The ANC is good, it's not Bose or Sony level but it's better than Beats and B&O. I would put it on par with the Sennheiser PXX 550 headphones which aren't bad at all. The reason why the sound quality varied for me so much was because of how the headphones fit. These have a tight clamping force and, if you wear glasses, they just don't fit right. I was fine using these in my office and for travel but, when I was outdoors wearing sunglasses, the sound quality (particularly the bass) took a nose dive as did the ANC. I could get used to the clamping force, after a while, but still required a break every 2-3 hours. I have the QC35ii headphones and I can wear those for hours on end without needing a break. They are plastic despite not costing much less than the PX headphones but they are extremely comfortable. So their price doesn't reflect the materials in the QC35ii headphones but it does their ANC level, uniform sound quality, and comfort. I really, really liked the B&W PX headphones. They pack a bunch of tech, are well-built, and have solid audio quality. But they come with a cheap carrying pouch and their fit is inconsistent to the point where they don't really work when wearing glasses. Even then I could often hear more outside noise in one ear or the other just because the headphones weren't seated how they needed to be. Not only that but the padding in the cups is thin and the underlying hard plastic could be felt. Combine all that with needing to take a listening break every 3-4 hours and these just weren't worth the $400 for me. I ended up returning them and will be keeping my headphones from other brands. Hopefully B&W takes note on the varied, and uncomfortable, fit and updates the PX headphones soon.

I use a DAC
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These cans are beautiful and well built. However, I purchased these to hear good music. I use them with a DAC. I generally do not rely on noise cancellation so that doesn’t matter for me. What I care about is escaping in the music. And through a FiiO Q1 DAC these things are unbelievable. They sound good through the usb and 3.5 jack but the push from the DAC makes it feel like I’m at a concert hall with exceptional acoustics. The sound is so detailed in a song (“Self Love”, by Jaguar Wright) that I actually heard her breathing. That’s some serious detail. The bass is what it’s supposed to be. I like heavy hitting bass but the sacrifice of detail isn’t worth it in some cans that are made for bass. So, I’ve learned to appreciate the separation of sounds. The one problem I have with this set is comfort. I enjoy the sound so much I can listen for hours. But keeping them on for hours is a task. They hurt after awhile. I deducted a star for that reason. It may be a deal breaker. This may not be a problem for all. I have a rather large head. If you are planning to push these with an amp, hardline, and/or DAC GET THEM!!! I have Sennheiser HD, Sony 1000MX, B&W P5, and Beats Studio. No set have come close when I push them. Love them.
