I am a big critic when it comes to headphones and these do not disappoint! I love wireless headphones and don’t have to worry about them becoming detached. I use them when working out or even mowing the lawn. They have amazing bass, vocal, and noise canceling. The ear piece part is magnetic and you don’t have to worry about it cracking and leaving those black pieces all over your ears after prolonged use. The app is great and allows for you to tailor it to how you like them! I like that they automatically stop playing when you take them off your head too! Love them!

I can give you a test review in one word: B E A U T I F U L ! ! ! Thus far, the only negative thing I would say about these is the app and the app is not that bad. In fact, the app is really only for firmware updates and not needed for special features or whatever. The solid construction is unlike any other "High" end wireless headphones I have ever put my hands. They just feel special and demand to be treated as such. The sound quality is beautiful. The design is beautiful. The ergonomic button layout and their feature are; yes you guessed it Beautiful. I am just enamored with these. I have had the privilege of testing many unique and very well built headphones of all shapes, sizes, and we will say price points. I have however, often commented on the look of over-the-head headphones, appearing goofy to me when worn out in public. Even though, I follow that statement up with, the superior sound quality of these types of devices, makes it OK and very understandable (not that anyone needs my permission or let along my opinion). Nevertheless, these are so sleek and cool they are a fashion statement within their own right and Deserve to be worn by all; in private and in public. :^) The neatest features on these, is that the headphones will pause when one ear is pulled off (will play when back over the ear) and they can sense when dormant.

    Amazing sound

I am not an audio expert, but I can tell great sound. I travel by car or plane 2-4 weeks a month and love a nice set of headphones. Out of the box, these feel more substantial thank most of the higher end headphones I have owned. The app setup was pretty straight forward, although the time to download the firmware updates did seem extraordinarily long (about 30 minutes). Once you have the app setup. you are connected but not connected. You still need to setup the Bluetooth. I made a short trip (less than 10 hours) and let them sit on my desk for 4 days and the battery meter has barely budged (86%). If you move a headphone off your ear, the audio stops. This can be good or bad depending on what you are watching. This did pause iTunes and also paused a movie from my Plex server when I took off a headphone. With many other Bluetooth headphones you have to reconnect back to the phone or device manually, this was so much easier, no reconnect needed. As I said before I am not an audiophile but I did listen to some iTunes lossless audio and it was pretty amazing. Good bass and highs. My two complaint is the lack of a folding design. I am sure TSA will kill them. Second, this needs a USB-C charing cable. These are not the most standard and not what you normally carry on a trip. Pro: great battery life (days maybe with downtime) awesome sound (check out the music you can download) battery saver for headphones off supports audio and Plex video. Includes audio cable for plane in flight entertainment. Bluetooth does not need to be reconnected as often as other Bluetooth headphones. Windows 10 Laptop does not need/have an app. Cons: very heavy tight fit, but needs a longer break in period I bet needs a USB-C charger on headphone control buttons are hard to find.

    Sound Quality

I have the Bose qc35 and this PX and wow the difference in sound quality couldnt been bigger... The bose sound ok specially in lower volumes when the EQ really kicks in to increase the lows so that you can have a pleasant sound signature at those volumes. but thats about it, in every other aspect the PX triumphs the Bose and its quite obvious (its like comparing a volkswagen with a mercedes). theres a lot more detail on the PX, theres much more dynamic, the soundstage is bigger and the bass is super clear (ideal for rock, pop, jazz, and basically anything thats not Hip-Hop). The highs are bright but not forward, the mids have an immpressive transaprency and the bass is accentuated in the 80hz zone to get those nice and powrfull drum beats while keeping the rest of the lower frequencies a little limited, making the lows very clear but perhaps to some, lacking. want something really special? connect these with the usb cable to your computer and stream hi res music from tidal and wow, this just go to a whole different level. It sounds very similar to my $5k stereo setup with bowers 683 speakers playing on CDs. if you turn on noice cancelling then the quality diminishes considerably, but then again i just turn on NC when getting into the subway or on a plane (so not very frequently). and actually i find NC superior to that from Bose, the Bose pick up wind noice quite bad and it amplifies each step you make which is very distracting. build quality is objectively better than anything out there, i specially like the grey color. if you are on the fence, go for it you wont regret it.

I am an AirPod user and like them for what they are, they sound good.and are quick and easy. They can also be hard to use when it’s noisy without cranking them up. For this reason I am revisiting noise cancelling headphones/earbuds. All the previous ones I have tried had good noise cancellation but average sound, these were both Bose over ear and in ear. I listen to a pair of Bowers and Wilkins 30 yr old DM 580 towers at home and they are superb. After doing some reading I went shopping and come home with a pair Sony Wh1000xmk2 and a pair of B&W PX. I start listening and swapping back and forth and more listening. In the end the PX sound superb with no noise cancelling on and still sound great with it on. The Sony’s do sound good but they are a little brighter and the bass is not as tight and accurate, actually they are just as not accurate altogether in all freq. I have some high freq rolloff in my hearing so I did like that the Sony's were a little brighter but its not worth it to lose the precision and accuracy. In my opinion the airpods sound better than the Sony's. I had hoped to utilize the Sony's built in eq to help with my high freq rolloff but they are getting returned. In the end the Sony's have a lot going for them but they don't pull you into the music like the PX's do!!! Yes the PX's are not as comfy at first, they are heavier, no hard case, hard to wear with certain glasses, but they sound terrific and you can't beat the smell of real leather.

    Excellent wireless headphones

Best sound I've heard out of wireless headphones, after a bit of time. Out of the box the sound in my case was awful. No bass and like tin cans. After 5 hours of break in using pink noise the sound really opened up. After 20+ hours of break in and about 3 - 4 hours of regular use the PX sounds fantastic. Crystal clear, tight and not boomy bass, and no muddied details. I use these with ANC off which produces the best sound. I did not buy these for noise cancelling, I use other headphones for that for when I don't care as much about music sound. That said, there is great passive isolation in my opinion. I made one phone call with these that lasted about 10 minutes and the person could hear me perfectly. I have a small to average sized head and wear a size 7 1/8 fitted cap. The ear cups seal perfectly around my ears and the headband is not uncomfortable for me. Headphones are very subjective. I can definitely see how these could be uncomfortable for people with larger heads. For us small-headed folks, the PX is a perfect fit and doesn't apply an uncomfortable amount of clamping pressure. My only criticism is that there is a narrow sweet spot because the speakers are angled inside the ear cups to face more toward your ears. Never had an issue with any other headphones until this one. But it is a minor gripe of mine. Overall very satisfied.

    The "cans" that CAN

Those that know me know that I'm an audiophile - the type that usually prefers big speakers over headphones.. I know, a dying breed. So, do the Bowers and Wilkins PX headphones change that? The only truthful way I can answer that is with a resounding YES! Perhaps it is the way that these 'phones fit my head and ears like a glove (and I'm a big dude). Or perhaps it is the fact that they can filter out practically any sound that's around you - eliminating any annoyance that can get in the way of your music enjoyment. Or perhaps, perhaps it is simply the fact that the audio performance with these headphones are so "true to life" that you don't feel like you are wearing (or listening) via headphones at all. And that, is why such an old-school audiophile such as myself xxlikesxx LOVES them so much. Whether you are listening to high quality, high bitrate flac, or streaming via your favorite service - you truly can't go wrong. They are THAT amazing. Of course too, there are other cool features. flip one side of the headphones off your ear, and the audio will automatically pause. This worked for me 100% of the time with no false positives. Don't want to stream over bluetooth, and have a device with an old-fashioned 3.5mm jack? B&W has you covered there as well with an included 3.5mm cord which you can plug directly into your device with the other end going into the headphones. There is also an included usb charging cord. Last but not least, you can install an app on your phone (both apple and android are supported) that lets you fine-tune the noise-cancellation feature. Everything from annoying office sounds, cityscapes, and even jet engines can be filtered out. The one thing that some....Well many may be concerned about is the price-point. Is spending $400 on a pair of headphones worthwhile? That's really a question you must ask yourself. But if you truly are looking for a truly high quality audiophile listening experience - then I would STRONGLY suggest that you purchase these headphones. As I said at the start, i'm rarely ever impressed by just a pair of headphones.. But these, to me, are much more than *just* a pair of headphones, and are more like a completely revolutionized listening experience. Before I forget, the battery life is claimed to be close to 24hrs per charge. And so far, I can say that is very accurate with my own personal usage. So yeah, get them! And when you aren't using them B&W includes an awesome carrying bag that is of very high quality.

    Great sound

I have had many headphones over the years. The Bowers’s and Wilkins PX are the best I’ve had. They have excellent natural sound with a good blend of bass, midrange, and highs. At first, I thought they were to warm sounding caused by too much bass or midrange. I discovered that I could charge this effect by slightly rotating the ear pieces while wearing them. It really just took some of the headphone pressure away which reduced the bass effect. I think in time the headphones will naturally loosen up and reduce the ear pressure. I’m talking only slight differences here, personal preference.. The headphones have a warm, detailed high frequency response that I like. The sound stage is also excellent and gives you that ‘concert’ feeling. The noise cancelling feature is also excellent if needed. Outside noise basically disappears when it is turned on to either of the three modes. You can also adjust the ambient sound for each of the noise reducing modes. The sound is excellent in noise cancelling mode with only the slightest change. I would recommend these headphones to anyone who loves music.

ATTENTION EVERYONE LOOKING TO PURCHASE THESE HEADPHONES: Like all hi-fi headphones and speakers, especially of the likes of the prestigious Bowers & Wilkins, these require a LONG BREAK IN TIME. IT IS IMPORTANT YOU KEEP VOLUME AT 50% OR LESS, AND RUN THEM FOR AT A MINIMUM OF 35 HOURS CONTINUOUSLY TO BREAK THEM IN. Some say it may even take 3-5 days to get the full performance out of them. These are excellent headphones. A lot of thought and design went into these things, they upscale audio to 768Khz at 24-bit. That is pretty insane. In fact, listen to a couple of songs with them after they are broken in, and you might hear things you never heard in songs before. Sound stage is excellent, ANC is really good, the smart feature works well for me, but I had it turned off at first to set them down and break them in.

I do love these headphones. The build quality is superb and the reason I bought them over other options. Other like Bose and Sony feel like cheap plastic, but these are definitely premium. The ANC works great and the sound is amazing, there are plenty of videos on these you can see watch for more info. All that said, I ended up returning my pair. The fit is tight and I could never wear them for an extended time. Usually after a few songs I could feel discomfort, it was an absolute deal breaker and the only reason this didn't get 5 stars. My girl friend said they fit better for her since her head was smaller, so you will just have to try them on and see how they feel.

Thanks to Best Buy's return/exchange policy I was able to compare these headphones to the Sony XM3, Bose QC35II, and Sennheiser 550. All very good. Sony is very close to B&W but B&W's sound is cleaner and more balanced throughout the spectrum, very sweet esp for music. Pretty comparable for movies. B&W's noise canceling is on a par, although you have to make sure to turn off the default "voice passthrough" to get max canceling. Their comfort improves as you wear them awhile, conforming more to your anatomy; and positioning them just right is important.

I’m typically a die hard bose consumer. I find that most products don’t even compare to bose but these headphones blow bose out of the water which I didn’t think was possible. When first opening the box, these headphones are truly breathtaking. The quality and craftsmanship are unlike any other electronic device I’ve ever seen. I seriously took a few minutes to just admire how beautiful these headphones are. The sound on these bowers and Wilkins headphones are incomparable. Their noise cancelling ability is the best I’ve ever used. They have an app to download to customize how much outside noise you want to omit. Another interesting feature is the on/off function. Once you take the headphones off, they pause your music. If you put them down, they will stay idle for a minute or so then then turn off on their own. When you pick them back up and put them on, the music starts back up from where you were. It’s pretty amazing technology. The comfort of these headphones is amazing as well. Most over the ear headphones can get uncomfortable quickly, but I wore these for hours without even noticing.

First of all these headphones sound amazing! What I would tell people is to save a wait to buy these. If your looking at something like the Bose QC 35, Sony's, or Beats.... save up a little more for these. The sound quality is great, the battery life is great, and they feel like a premium headphone should. The other companies charge you higher prices but give you sub par build quality. Only accept the best with your money.

    Build Quality & Sound A++++

I've had soooooo many different headphones in my life (63), I go back to when Altec Lansing in ANAHEIM made the best speakers. You can't ever go wrong with a set of Bose Cans and these days, Sony, as always has a spectacular high end wireless headphones. There new ones are in the top tier, a worthy challenger. But, for my money, with the right break in, these Bowers & Wilkens are the best for sound quality. AND YES, Sony has better ANC without a doubt as does Bose. But, if you are after the best sound, I don't see how you can beat these B&W PX over the ear cans. Their build quality is second to none and their ANC is acceptable. Once broken in, you can hear all of the different instruments that the artist recorded and that means something to me! I have always been a BIG fan of Sony, most of my home electronics are ALL Sony, but for the fidelity I always crave, I just don't see how you can improve on the quality of the Bowers & Wilkins PX IMHO...

I was really excited to try out a Bowers & Wilkins product and when these headphones were listed, I thought the time was right. Design-wise, they look very polished and hi-end. The materials are top notch. The fit is a bit tight but I imagine over time, they would become more comfortable. It is the sound that falls short. I have another pair of wireless headphones by a Japanese brand and I guess have become spoiled by them. With these B&W phones, music is not particularly clear or separated. The sound is a bit muddy, especially when connected to my iPod. I messed around with the iPod equalizer settings to find a solution but nothing really helped. I'm sure they sound great to most people but after my other headphones, they just don't cut it. They also don't fold up and are a bit cumbersome but do come with a soft case. Overall, I'm sadly not impressed as I had very high hopes for these. Especially at that price point.

I've had the Bose qc35, the AKG N60, the JBL Everest Elite. I know you are reading this because you want to know if you should get these or the Sony M3 or the B&O h9i. All I can say is, find a Best Buy with a magnolia store and plug in your own MP3 player and listen to your favorite songs on all three. I love these. I can't put them down. But I have a narrow head, and I like their sound profile. I find that the Bose fell off of my head too easily. If you like metal, vocals, and classical music or soundtracks, and these fit your head, I think they may be the best you can buy today. Everything else you can learn from YouTube. You just have to try them. Thank you to the people at the Magnolia store in Mount Laurel NJ who took the time to let me choose my headphones, and who actually had a working comparison stand, unlike the 2 other magnolia centers I went to.

Got this last week to complement my AirPods. Few things apparently became very evident.. buy this only if you need a full scale headphone. This headphone does its job really well.. for eg. it drives clarity of voice and reproduces sound as if one is hearing the singer in a acoustically well set ecosystem.. if you are a hip hop kind.. Do NOT buy it.. it has a great build and high quality frame but bulky.. it would not fit in my laptop bag and is extremely inconvenient as a frequent traveller.. will give it another week before I make a decision.. if it stays it will stay forever.. else will never look back..

Very Outstanding sound if you follow the manual

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

These headphones are outstanding assuming you let them burn in for at least 24hrs of music. They sounded like garbage when I first tried them on and started using them. The user guide actually warns to at least burn/run them in by listening to music for at least 24hrs (of listening time total). This is common in higher end headphones so I was surprised by this in more consumer/portable targeted headphones. I let my headphones play music from itunes on the computer for two nights straight while I slept at 60% volume. It made the bass that was initially non existent appear and the "sound stage" opened up for sure. I use these for wired specifically and while the bluetooth worked fine without cutting out it still requires you within ten feet or so to keep the connection stable. The noise cancelling is fine but it makes the sound quality really mute and flat. The sony 1000xm2 do a great job of holding the sound quality with ANC on or off. This does have a built in dac when connected to a PC or mac via the charging cable it comes with. I personally use a Oppo ha-2se as my amp/dac and it didnt make a huge difference but it helped tightening things up. Not needed to get the most out of these but its good to note(22ohm). The comfort is lacking for anything after an hour or two with these, it's heavy and the headband is thin so you have hotspot discomfort for sure. If these are anything like old P7s I had then it will eventually get more comfy as time goes on. The PX do have a sensor that allows them to detect when they're not on your head and they pause sound coming though. While that sounds fantastic it was spotty for me. You can adjust the sensitivity via the app(which is minimal in design but it works), I just turned the feature off personally. Battery life is decent but I like that wired with ANC off will get you close to 50 hours of life. It also wont play via the headphone cable if it runs out of juice but if you can charge your smart phone every day you can charge these at least once week. All in all its an upgrade from the p7 and i'm a fan for sure. Just remember to burn them in before really judging the sound quality.
