Very good sound quality, bad wear detection sensor

These headphones sound amazing. I also have the Sony 1000x first gen, and I prefer the sound of the B&W. The Sonys, however, are significantly more comfortable. I could only wear the B&Ws for a couple hours before the discomfort started. Another downside of the B&W headphones is the inability for the wear detection sensors to cope with users who wear glasses. The audio would switch off seemingly randomly until I disabled that "feature" in the app. The drawbacks proved too great considering the price, and I ended up returning the headphones. I likely would have kept them if I didn't already have the Sonys; however, I would urge you to look at the new Sony 1000x model instead of these.

I use them almost daily while doing construction work. As difficult as it is for me to say - they are worth the $$.
I also find them extremely comfortable and B & W clarity/definition is there as expected.

I've had the Bowers & Wilkens PX for about a week. I've been using them daily for three to five hours a day. Summary: they are awesome sounding phones, very wearable and comfortable, with intelligently designed controls, effective ANC and great battery life. They are definitely built to last.
Sound quality is the ultimate deliverable for headphones and the PX doesn't disappoint! The clarity, crispness and detail in the sound quality are truly astonishing. Whether rock, jazz, or classical, the nuances of the performance come through like no other headphones I've tried. The sound is very balanced, so if you're looking for the head rattling mega-bass, these are not for you. If you're looking for concert hall detail and presentation with good, balanced bass, these are your phones.
In general, I've found Bluetooth headphones lacking in that the codecs are not as good as an analog wired connection. I usually find myself somewhat disappointed when connecting via bluetooth. I was really surprised that I could hear no real difference whether the PX was connected by analog cable, bluetooth, or usb cable (the ability to directly connect to a usb port is a really nice extra). It's all stellar. The ANC works well and is configurable by app for different environments. While maybe not as strong as some competitors, I could not detect any hiss which is created by a lot of ANC headphones.
Great sound is great, but doesn't matter much if the phones aren't comfortable or wearable for any length of time. When you first look at the PX, the thin, firm earcups and the hefty build suggest that you might be taking them off frequently; you would be wrong. These phones are well balanced and very comfortable around the ears. Wearing them for hours at a time is not a problem. One really nice touch is that the earcups, which tend to be the first thing to wear out on any headphone, are magnetically attached for easy replacement.
The controls are located on the right earphone, logical and well differentiated. It's easy to get the correct button. I don't understand why so many headphone makers insist on tiny, flat, nearly identical buttons, or worse, touch controls. It's not like you're taking them off to look at what you're doing. That's just not a problem with the PX. The 'smart' feature that uses sensors to turn on when you put them on and turn off (well, go stand-by) when you take them off or drop the around your neck worked very well for me. The battery life seems to be about as advertised, I've recharged them once when the battery got down to about 40% after about 12 hours of use.

I've been wanting these headphones for awhile and my wife got me them as a Christmas gift. I had listened to them in a store before I purchased them and was in love. While Beats by Dre may be a more popular headphone, it doesn't offer the craftsmanship of these or the wide range of listening notes. If you are into heavy bass in your headphones, these aren't the ones for you. I wish there was a little more knock while listening to hip hop or more bottom when listening to jazz. This can be adjusted in your listening device's settings though. Overall these sound and look great and would recommend.

A little uncomfortable at first, however, after wearing them for a while one would forget it was there. Great headphones, classy looking. Quality by B & W, once again.

I’ve compared almost all the wireless headphones around this price range. From the Sony WMH to Bang &Olsen to Sennhesser and of course B&W PX. Hands down B&W PX are the best for audio. Yeah a lot of reviews rate the Sony’s as the best. But that’s because of the features aka bells and whistles. If you’re in to that then yes I would recommend the Sony’s too. But for clear audio B&W PX are the best. One caveat if you’re into big booming bass than these are not the headphones for you. Probs better off with the Beats.

These sound very good, and work well with Sonarworks Reference 4 and True-Fi to sound even better. They can be uncomfortable at first until you get used to them. Initial Bluetooth connection can be tricky, but works well after that. AptX is a must-have feature for true high quality Bluetooth audio, and I immediately dismissed the Bose QC 35 II because they lacked it. The Sony WM1000XM3 just sounded muddy to me. The noise cancellation works, but to the detriment of audio quality, especially at the highest level.

But build quality is amazing, solid construction and amazing sound. If your main focus is noise cancellation and comfort, Bose QuietComfort is still the way to go.

First of all, the sound is crisp. I can't say I'm an audiophile but I know when my music cracks or is dull. I've had multiple headphones but this one blows the others out of the water. Oh and I started to love house music again. Second is the noise cancelling-- you know how sometimes you feel like it's the fit that makes the sound good? Like if there's something that takes you away from the fullness of the music because there's space in the fit or something like that? It's not the case for this one. It comes with a pretty good app which can adjust your settings to your environment, including what type of noise cancelling you might need. Trust me, it's the devil-- I never knew of this option before, like you can choose if you just want voices to come through or you want to totally block everything out as you listen to music. Now I think I cannot live without it. Also, with the app, it updates your headphones. The firmware update i experienced was a little long (or maybe I'm impatient)-- I had to oversee the whole time it transferred the file to the headphone until it updated it while looking at my phone. With something this pricey, I wouldn't risk making it useless the minute a firmware update fails.
Regarding the fit though, it's like any other comfortable headphones. I don't think I can last with it on for over 2 hours without a little discomfort. I don't have big ears-- maybe it's because I was wearing my glasses on and it bothered me. Well, it's the same as others so I think this discomfort, which not really as bad, is a universal comfort headphone problem. However, this device DETECTS if you are wearing it or not. Pretty good battery saving technique if you ask me-- but then, the battery on this thing seems to last long. 3% over 2.5 hours is good right?
Then the design-- it's classy and really pretty. I know it can be a non factor to some, but it's a B&W-- I don't think they ever came out with cheap design ever.
I love it. I never thought I'd use one as often as this one. Oh, and did I mention it's usb-c? My phone, laptop and this can all be on one charger. One jack less to carry! This is so good, I can't stop talking about it to my friends!!

These are great for all genres of music I listen to. From Hip-Hop and Alternative to Country and easy listening.
These are the best headphones I ever heard. When I'm not wearing glasses.
The seal created around your ears does not overcome eyeglasses. Quite unfortunate that I will have to sell these to get something more glasses friendly.
Would only recommend to a friend that does not wear glasses or shades.

Comfort is an acquired taste. Some might say these are not that comfortable, that they clamp your head to much or that they seem to want to break your jaw off your skull but come on... I'm a 7 3/4 size on caps and these headphones are comfortable enough. Now, compared to the top dawgs from sony and bose, ofcourse not but when you listen to how close to the recording you get from the way music sounds in these. You will not mind the "comfort" issues at all. The build quality on these tanks is so good that you will not want to have any bose, sonys or beats laying next to them because you will forever be disappointed in those after having these Px in your hands. The battery life is great, no drop issues with bluetooth even when having a couple of walls between your bluetooth source and these headphones. I had never believed in burn in periods for headphone drivers(speakers) but I tried these for a couple hours when I first bought them, handed them over to my wife for the next 2 weeks. Wore them again and wow, I have no words but just simply wow. Just the sound itself makes these worth every single penny spent, even on taxes, insurance and the ones I dropped that went under the cashiers counter when she gave me my change. It's just amazing. If you like soft listening with a large sound stage, you've got it. If you like it loud, I mean loud as in your xm3s are on mute and your studio 3s might as well be off loud. You've got it. Not a single hint of distortion. Infact after a couple of hours of listening to music in the highest volume setting non stop I felt no pain or had any issues with short term hearing loss. Having distorted sounds pumped in to your ears will definitely hurt your hearing abilities but with the sound quality on these babies you're going to be alllllright.

I love these headphones, they are simple and easy to use with just the right amount of bells and whistles. The sound is also fantastic for a Bluetooth headphone. You may not notice much listening to low quality audio like pandora but once you add a high quality audio source these headphones really come to life. I don't really care for the noise canceling feature as it lessened the sound quality, but I didn't by them for that feature, I got them for the sound. They also look great and are incredibly well made, with anodized aluminum frame and magnetic/replacable ear pads.

I have several bluetooth headphones. Decided to buy an over the ear headphone. Sound quality and build quality are what I prioritized first. Difficult to differentiate audio quality instore since what is on their playlist may not be the type of music I listen to. Already had a set of wired PX5s. Understand the new Sony MX1000-3 may have the best noise cancellation but this is not as important to me. Reading up on the Sony MX1000 2s headband breaking also concerned me. Decided to go with the sound and build of the B&W PX over newer technology.
