Both modes work well. It’s far better than Bose QC45 in sound quality and battery life. None of the cutting out that happens w Bose wireless. The bass is richer than Beats, Bose, and Skull Candy (though most of their lines are inferior, the bass is sometimes passable).

Amazing headphones with very crisp sound and solid ANC! I love the manual buttons which make them super easy to operate. Feels good on the head. No discomfort with hours of wear. These were a solid upgrade from the Bose NC 700.
I would recommend this to a friend

Overall, I find these headphones to be wonderful. I purchased these as an upgrade from my Platronics poly voyager 2 headset. I find that the noise cancelation feature on the b&w headphones are superior, that in addition to the sound quality. However, i find that the b&w headphones are a much tighter fit then the platronics. The microphone works way better then suggested on other reviews, in my opinion. I do find that the B&W headphones is ultimately lacking a major feature, which would be to have better compatibility with a a PC. I would like to see that improvement made on future models. I also found the build quality to be of higher quality, then comparable headsets. I would really like to get a pair of the B&W s8's and see if they are worth it.

I recently got my hands on the Bowers & Wilkins PX7 S2e Wireless Noise Cancelling Headphones, and overall, I'm quite impressed with the experience they offer.
Let's start with the positives. The first thing that struck me was how light and comfortable these headphones are. Wearing them for extended periods is a breeze, making them ideal for long listening sessions or binge-watching your favorite shows. The design exudes a premium feel, although I could do without the bold 'Bowers & Wilkins' emblazoned across the ear cups – a more subtle B&W logo would have sufficed.
Sound quality is where these headphones truly shine. Whether I'm immersed in music, gaming on my iPad, or watching movies, the audio reproduction is impressive. The Bowers & Wilkins app provides easy customization of bass and treble, although I wished for more options. The app itself, however, leaves much to be desired, feeling more like a platform for ads than a genuinely useful tool. Stick to what you do best, Bowers & Wilkins, and leave the music services to the experts.
The buttons on the headphones are intuitive, and I appreciate the customizable quick action button. However, a missed opportunity lies in the lack of a double-click function, limiting quick access to both voice assistant and environment control. Small details, but they matter.
The 'Made for iPhone' label on the box seems more of a marketing point than a significant feature. While the headphones do have an app, the transition between Apple devices lacks the seamless handoff expected. Connecting still involves the traditional Bluetooth settings, and the headphones don't support SharePlay, a feature sorely missed when wanting to share audio experiences with others.
On the upside, the sleek and well-designed case is a winner. The magnetic compartment neatly hides the cables, adding a touch of sophistication to the overall package.
In conclusion, despite a few quirks, the Bowers & Wilkins PX7 S2e headphones have won me over with their comfort and impressive sound quality. If you can overlook the minor inconveniences in the app and device connectivity, these headphones offer a delightful audio experience.

The PX7 S2e’s are my new favorite headphones. They don’t have all of the features that Sony or Bose have, but they nail the sound, materials, and comfort. For me that’s pretty much everything. I’m always looking for an excuse to put these things on. They’re one of the few headphones I’ve handled that really ‘feel’ high-end and don’t just pack in a bunch of stuff to justify a higher price tag.
The PX7 S2e definitely has the high-end look and feel to match its price, which is something I missed in my Sony XM5’s, which I found to be rather plain-looking. The different materials all blend seamlessly into each other and have a soft touch throughout. The buttons and switches are easy to press, but a little challenging to find by feel. The adjustable headband extends to fit my head and the leather cushion and ear cups don’t get uncomfortable even after hours of continuous wear. The Ocean Blue color also looks great and is suitably classy. It comes in a nice color-matched case with a cream colored interior. There’s a magnetic flap that holds both cables. Unfortunately the PX7 S2e’s don’t fold to make them more compact, so if that is valuable to you you may need to look elsewhere. They take up about the same amount of space as my Sony XM5’s in my bag, maybe a little bit less.
The PX7 S2e supports sound via Bluetooth 5.2 with AptX Adaptive (no AptX Lossles unfortunately) and wired sound via the USB-C connection via either a direct USB connection or using the included USB-C to 3.5mm cable. They sound fantastic no matter which interface I use. It carries through a ton of detail in music, video, and gaming. No one particular part of the sound overwhelms or underwhelms and they sound very balanced and full. I will say that using them via USB-C on my Pixel 8 Pro they were rather quiet, but that was not an issue on any other device I used. There’s no mention of spatial audio or head tracking with the PX7 S2e, but I’ve yet to have an experience with other headphones I’ve worn that makes me miss that here.
The noise canceling on the PX7 S2e is very good, but not quite as good as my Sony XM5’s, which is just fine with me. It easily drowns out most annoying sounds like loud fans without any problems and even if the ANC isn’t quite as good as my Sony’s I still would go anywhere I’d with them with the PX7’s no problem. The transparency mode is also good and while it doesn’t sound completely natural (there’s a bit of an airy background noise that comes through), it was very easy for me to carry on a natural conversation while wearing them. The noise canceling is not automatic or adaptive like it is on other headphones, but I found this feature to be finicky at best with them, so I’m fine with it not being here. Noise canceling and transparency mode can be cycled through using the Quick Action button on the left earcup, or they can be turned off completely.
The microphone quality is excellent and not what I was expecting. In my experience the microphone/call quality is usually an afterthought even on the highest end headphones. The people I spoke to could not even tell that I was using a Bluetooth microphone instead of the normal microphone.
The battery life is rated at 30 hours and while I haven’t come anywhere close to running these down just yet due to my combination of wireless and wired USB-C usage, that estimate seems to be holding up in the limited battery drain I have seen so far.
The app is somewhat barebones, but it’s easy to use and it doesn’t get in the way with unnecessary notifications. It offers some basic bass/treble adjustment (no full EQ) and lets you change the Quick Action button to trigger the voice assistant instead of triggering ANC/Transparency/Off. It also allows you to turn wear detection on or off. For me it was off by default. I played with having it on for a while, but ended up turning it back off since it didn’t trigger reliably for me or muted the headphones at inconvenient times. This hasn’t been a strong area for any of the previous Bowers and Wilkins headphones and earbuds I’ve used either.
Overall I’m really happy with the PX7 S2e’s. They get all the things that are important to me right and they mostly leave out the fluff. If you’re shopping in this price range and want something that’s truly premium I don’t think you need to look much further.

Was pleased to receive the B&W Px7 S2e Ocean Blue headphones. They were boxed nicely, love the color and have a great zippered hard shell case. Included is a USB-C to USB-C cord and a USB-C to 3.5mm input cord. There is a Quick Start manual with a scan to download the app on your phone which walks you through the steps for setup.
I proceeded to charge them (no charger included so I used my iPhone charger) and when the blinking green light turned solid they were at 100%. I then placed them on my head and first thing I noticed was the perfect fit. WOW! Comfortable as can be right out of the box. I wore them almost 9 hours straight and to my delight they did not start to hurt my ears or head in any way. I did notice a slight bit of sweat when I removed them but that's to be expected and it's not an issue with me. I am just so happy I can wear them for long periods and no discomfort. Even after the 9 hour usage the battery life was still great and B&W claims up to 30 hours on one charge. I believe it.
On the left earcup there is one Quick Action button which handles Noise Cancellation, Pass-Through and OFF. It also will trigger the Voice Assistant. On the right earcup you'll find the power button which you simply push up to start the Bluetooth pairing mode or click it to turn the headphones off. Below that are the volume up and down buttons and in between is a grooved MULTI-FUNCTION button which handles Play, Pause, Next Track, Previous Track and accepts or declines phone calls. You just have to press from 1-3x for each function and for calls you hold 2 seconds to decline or press once to end a call you're on. These are the easiest to control headphones I've ever owned.
I am using my iPhone for most Bluetooth functions as I subscribe to i-Tunes for music. I had no reason to really use any of the B&W apps except Spotify which I do have an account with. The volume on my phone also controls the headphones. There is a cool wear sensor built into them as well. Just lift an earcup to pause playback which you turn on in settings to activate. I did notice the provided link on the B&W app for FAQ's didn't work and it would have helped a little if it had.
I enjoy using my iPhone directly to listen to whatever I am in the mood for ~ from Audiobooks to all genres of music, including my own music videos on Singsnap. With those 40mm drivers I am hearing things I never heard before when wearing my earbuds! Highs - Lows - Mids - EAR CANDY PERFECTION!
I love these headphones! I have had no dropped or spotty Bluetooth signals, exceptional performance from the minute I put them on and I highly recommend their purchase. Definitely worth my 5 star (and more!) rating. You can't go wrong ~ they are out of this world AWESOME!

Attempting to explain what these headphones are like is akin to trying to explain the smell of freshly baked chocolate chip cookies to someone who has never smelled them before. You must personally experience these headphones to understand what a literal sensual experience they are! Bowers and Wilkens have managed to deliver a set of headphones here that comes in at a lower price than some of the giants like Apple Airpods Max and deliver sound, comfort, noise cancellation, and battery life that are all parallel if not surpassing some of the higher-priced wireless headphones out there.
The sound out of these headphones out of the box is incredible and surprisingly neutral in audio balance in comparison to the many headsets out there that attempt to drown out glaring audio imperfections by over-emphasizing bass tones. I did bump up the bass in the app a bit and was impressed by the thumping, visceral tones the drivers in this headset elicited. I tested Bass Head from Bassnectar and was astonished during some of the deeper bass drops that all the tones came through and even reverberated as they would with external audio equipment. If I wasn’t aware of these headphones on my head, I would have thought I was back in my high school car with dual 12” subwoofers enclosed in a ported enclosure in the trunk! The rest of the audio balance is incredible too. The driving rhythm track in the mid-range towards the beginning of Empress of the Damned by Gunship comes through in such a manner that it feels like it is pulsating in my throat and my chest with the tonal qualities. Vocal and instrumental music comes through unexpectedly balanced and detailed as well. Rylynn by Andy McKee stuns with the detail of his acoustic guitar playing, and Sea Shanty Medley by Home Free was giving me chills along the sides of my neck with the separation and detail of each of the singer’s vocal ranges. Finally, the Sound of Silence (Cover) by Disturbed almost had me choked up with just how precisely David Draiman’s voice was projected by these Px7 S2e 40mm drive units. That is one of my favorite covers of all time and this is one of the first headsets I have used in memory that truly gives justice to that song’s range and fullness. Altogether, I think this is a headset with audio characteristics that will satisfy all but the pickiest consumer and prosumer audiophiles.
The looks and beauty of these headphones cannot be understated. This Ocean Blue set is positively sublime to visually experience in person. I am a fellow who conforms more towards matte black and white colored personal electronic devices, but these are a departure from that and manage to draw attention and praise to the looks while also not leaning too far in the direction of either feminine or masculine (for those that care about such things). Every texture, piece of plastic, and component of this headset feels and looks high quality, even down to the clickiness and perfect separation of the thoughtfully implemented and positioned physical buttons. They even added texture to the middle, multi-function button (pause, play, etc.) on the right ear cup so it is easy to get anchored at where your finger is at on the buttons. These buttons are big enough too that I think you could find and press them with ease even while wearing gloves! That is a nice benefit for us cold-weather commuters. I also find the position of the buttons to be somehow intuitive. Every time I bring my right index finger up to the rear of the headset, I am somehow getting to the right button I want every time. Real thought was put into the ergonomics design of this headset!
If you are interested in wearing these headphones for daily commutes on public transportation or for study or work in noisy environments, you are in luck. The noise cancellation is, in my opinion, best in class in this price range. The earcups are comfortable, conforming, and manage to create a perfect seal around my ears which is a big component of the noise cancellation equation, plus the four ANC microphones (6 mics total including the 2 mics for communication) on this headset seem to be outstanding at keeping the outside low, mid, and high tones out of your audio experience. I am certain I could be consoling a crying baby in my arms while wearing these headphones and manage to cut out most all of that noise signature. When I compare these to my AirPods Pro 2 earbuds, which are best in class for earbud noise canceling, these headphones come out ahead in that metric. The ambient Pass-Through is also commendable and helpful for phone calls and safety during risky commute portions such as crossing busy intersections. My sensitive ears can detect a just barely audible amount of hiss from the mic pass-through, but it is hardly noticeable unless I am actively listening for it.
Another piece of praise is that the battery and charge time on this headset are just insane to me. You can get SEVEN HOURS with just a FIFTEEN MINUTE charge! I will say it again: 7 hours of battery life, with a 15-minute charge! That means that even in the worst of circumstances where you forgot to charge your headset for days of use and it is dead in the morning before your morning commute, just plug these into a USB-C power source for a few minutes before you leave, and you will be able to get through a chunk of the day with just that quick charge! The case is a welcome and handsome accessory and the clever little storage spot inside of it for the USB-C charging and 3.5mm audio cables is also quite clever. I might even store a couple of SD cards in there for when I am on the go editing content!
The headset itself is built so comfortably that it is obvious that the geniuses at Bowers and Wilkens aren’t just a bunch of audiophiles or audio engineers but are people who actually know what it is like to wear headphones for more than a few hours straight. It can be pure misery. These headphones I am happy to report have caused me zero discomfort at all over more than 8 hours straight of wearing them with minimal interruptions between over days of use. The earcups have kept my ears remarkably cool and the earcups, to my surprise, do not press the temples of my blue light glasses into my face like some other headphones models do. The ear cups instead seem inclined to just comfortably mold around them! So, glasses wearers, rejoice! These are darn comfortable for all except perhaps the most obstinately thick and square-framed glasses out there!
Some final points I want to touch on before wrapping this review up are the wireless and app connectivity features of this headset that are highly convenient and worthy of a headset at this price range. The app is not just a gimmick as with some audio companies’ apps. The B&W music app has utility in customizing buttons on this headset, adding music into the app itself for streamlined audio control, turning on and off features like wear sensor (pauses music when you move the headphones off your ears), and most conveniently, set up of multiple Bluetooth connections and how you want to prioritize them. I use both my iPhone and my MacBook Pro alternatively all day for school and work and I thought I was going to be stuck using only Apple Ecosystem products for that unbeatable quick handoff and instant connection experience the chips inside them provide. But here, my friends, is a good competitor! I have both my MBP and my iPhone set up in the connections of this app and now it will seamlessly switch between the two depending on which is playing audio. An example is that I will be listening to a lecture on my laptop, get a phone call on the iPhone, pick it up, and I am hearing and talking through the speakers and mics of this headset! That is just perfect for my needs. The only aspect of it that feels a little sloppy is that my interminable fixation with using the Spotify Connect features makes swapping back and forth a little bit of a hassle sometimes since the headset and Spotify Connect feature get things mixed up on which device I want to listen from versus control from.
The only small detractor I can give to this headset is that there is no IP rating that I can find regarding their dustproof and waterproof abilities, so I do not feel confident recommending them for very sweaty use or outdoor inclement weather use when not covered.
Music can be more than just an audio experience. It can be something that transports you out of wherever you are to different times, places, feelings, and more. These B&W Px7 S2e’s are headphones that are capable of doing that for you. Thanks for reading this review and I hope it encourages you to make the purchase I think you are probably already leaning towards making if you have read reviews this long, haha!

This review is for the Bowers& Wilkens (B&W) PX7 S2 headphones. I am thrilled to review these headphones because I am a huge fan of Bowers & Wilkens. I will not, however, give these headphones special treatment. I will review these headphones on their own standing in how they perform listening to music.
I am not an audio snob, but I am an audiophile. I love music, and I love audio equipment that correctly reproduces music. After trying out numerous speakers for my home listening room, I settled on a set of B&W speakers. I did so because of the quality, nothing more. I listened to speakers costing 4 – 5 times more, and they didn’t sound much better if any at all.
First impression:
My first impression of the B&W PX7 S2 headphones was “typical B&W.” Upon opening the box, I saw the carry case that B&W provides for the headphones. It wasn’t a headphone bag, it was a high quality, rigid, fabric-covered form-fitted carrying case with a pocket for cables and a small charger. The headphones sat perfectly in the case. The headphones are a beautiful two-tone blue. They look elegant and expensive, a lot more expensive than they are. When I put them on, they were extremely comfortable. They seem to have found a perfect balance of grip without being too tight. The real test will be if they still feel that comfortable after a few hours of use.
The pairing/power button is a slide on/off/momentary button that feels solid. It provides a good amount of resistance to make sure you don’t accidentally activate the momentary function. The other buttons are spaces appropriately, with the middle button being textured to help you identify where your finger is without having to count or remove your headphones. The USB port is both a charging port and a music port. If you have a headphone amp and want to listen to music through it, you can with the supplied USB to 3.5mm stereo cable.
Test Setup:
For this test, I used a Bluetooth connection to my Samsung S22 Ultra. I used Apple Music for the source, and played music from the genres of 60s – 90s rock, bluegrass, freak-folk, ska, metal, hip-hop, funk, rock operas, mellow, and instrumental piano. I spent about 4 hours on the first sitting, working through the entire list of genres. Later, on my second test, I listened to specific artists that I am familiar with so I could listen to songs I know and love and compare them to how I know they sound with my speakers and other headphones I use and love. I listened to Randy Newman, Dire Straits, Tami Neilson, Philip Glass, Efrem Bergman, Ludovico Einaudi, Rush, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, The Holy Modal Rounders, Anthrax, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Social Distortion.
Performance:
On the first test session, I went through about 100 songs in about 4 hours. I was expecting to hear the headphones differ in performance when going from one genre to another. But what I found was that the headphones performed equally well across the entire spectrum. The highs were very crisp without being abrasive. The mids were bright, full, and did a great job on the ends of their spectrum, blending beautifully with the highs and lows. The bass was punchy and tight, and I never got them to distort, no matter how hard I drove the bass.
Next, I moved to the second test session, listening to fewer songs and artists, but spending time with each one. I started with Randy Newman, because his music is not redundant in that every song is its own song, and each song on an album is different than the rest. On his Land of Dreams and Sail Away albums, the headphones performed beautifully. The quality of the music was equal across both albums, with each song working the highs, mids, and lows differently. The piano sounded like I was there, and the imaging was quite nice, not something you get from all headphones.
The next album I listened to was Dire Straits’ Love Over Gold. This is one of my favorite albums ever. It is a hidden gem, as I don’t find too many people who have even heard of it; even people who like Mark Knopfler and Dire Straits. The PX7 S2’s performed equally well on this album. The music really opened up, and the headphones did a great job reproducing the music, especially the instruments like the guitar on quieter pieces of music.
As I went through the other artists, the headphones never ceased to amaze me. On some of my older music, the headphones did not make it sound better, but reproduced it like it sounded on a turntable back then. But when I played newer music, especially hip-hop, funk, and EDM, the mids were tight and bright, and the lows were deep and punchy. Never did the headphones strain from any music genre.
Other features include a 30-hour battery. I believe this to be true, as I have not had the need to charge them up after the initial charge. The total charge time is 2 hours, and with a 15-minute charge, you will get 7 hours. Also is improved DSP for sound quality, 6 microphones – 4 for ANC and 2 for the telephone.
There is only one feature on these headphones that are not excellent, and that is the noise cancellation. It does reduce noise, there is a clear difference. And it does so without affecting the music quality. But I have tested headphones that eliminate outside noise, and the PX7 S2s don’t quite eliminate the noise.
Conclusion:
The B&W PX7 S2 headphones are remarkable headphones. They performed beautifully in every genre I threw at them. They sounded better than headphones I have listened to that cost twice as much. The other headphones I have sound good but can’t maintain the same level of musical quality across the entire spectrum like these headphones. Some are weaker in the bass range, and one can get harsh in the highs if pushed. The B&W PX7 S2 headphones are replacing all of them and are my reference headphones going forward.
In addition to the sound, these headphones are very comfortable. After multiple 4-hour long listening periods, my head and ears never got tired. The memory foam earpads cover the ear but do not put any pressure on it. These are some of the most comfortable headphones I have worn.
I highly recommend the Bowers and Wilkens PX7 S2 headphones.
Final thoughts:
The thing to keep in mind with these headphones is how good they sound for the price. Headphones I have listened to in the same price range don’t sound this good. And with ANC technology and a wired connection in addition to Bluetooth, these headphones are a win-win.

I have tried my fair share of noise cancelling headphones and ear buds in all ranges so I felt like I couldn't be surprised by these Bowers & Wilkins Px7 S2e Wireless Noise Cancelling Over the Ear Headphones in Ocean Blue. I am familiar with their noise canceling ear buds and really enjoy the sound they produce but some times I may need a more robust option like those you can get in a true over the ear headphone. Bowers & Wilkins doesn't disappoint. The Color is kind of unique and is just a great option to stand out in a crowd of black, white, and grey headphones out there. Battery life is better than other similar and popular options I have used with 30 hours to get you through any day or any trip. They are extremely comfortable on my ears where some others start to annoy me within the first hour. But the sound is what really impressed me. It Is clear with great bass and treble right out of the box but the ability to tweak it to your needs is a nice bonus. I got sucked into several hours of listening to various genres and truly enjoyed the clarity and crisp sounds regardless of what genre I was listening to. I tested these out using both my iPhone Pro Max as well as my MacBook Pro to listen to tutorials and lectures and they were perfect in all scenarios. I thought I might be a little disappointed because these weren't the higher end Px8 version but I honestly can say that I am so impressed with these that I can't imagine needing the Px8. Call clarity was also excellent so these check off all of my most wanted and needed things in a great pair of headphones. These come with a nice sized sturdy case to house the headphones and the included cords (the case is the same color as the headphones). I would definitely recommend giving these a try.

The Bowers & Wilkins PX7 S2e Wireless Headphones offer a premium audio experience with a sleek design that caters to the audiophile in you. The standout feature is undeniably the sound quality – the headphones deliver a rich, well-balanced audio profile that truly immerses the listener in their favorite tunes. The build quality is impressive, featuring a sturdy yet lightweight construction. The ear cups are plush and comfortable, making extended listening sessions a joy. The design exudes a sophisticated elegance. The active noise cancellation (ANC) is commendable, effectively blocking out ambient noise for an immersive listening experience. The adaptive nature of the ANC adjusts seamlessly to your surroundings, whether you're in a bustling coffee shop or enjoying a quiet evening at home. The battery life of the PX7 S2e is impressive, providing ample usage on a single charge. Quick charging is an added convenience for those on the go. The inclusion of USB-C for charging is a welcome modern touch. However, no product is without its flaws. The price is a slight drawback. Additionally, the headphones lack customization options for the sound profile. Unlike some competitors in the market, the PX7 S2e does not offer an equalizer for users to fine-tune the audio according to their preferences. This limitation might disappoint users seeking a more personalized audio experience. In conclusion, the Bowers & Wilkins PX7 S2e Wireless Headphones are a top-tier choice for audio enthusiasts who prioritize exceptional sound quality and premium design. Despite some minor drawbacks like price and limited customization, the overall experience is superb. I would rate the PX7 S2e a solid 4.5 stars out of 5, acknowledging its excellence but leaving room for future improvements in user interface and customization features.

I own the previous model of the Px7 S2 and was curious about the new “evolved” edition. Outwardly, they look the same except for the nice blue color scheme (they have other colors but I felt the blue is muted enough to give a nice minimalistic finish). They feel really comfortable over my ear and the padding are very soft as they nestle against my head. The foaming in the padding are softer and they angle perfectly against my head. I can actually have these on my head for longer in the day without it pressing or causing pressure.
Where they really excel is in the noise free and clear sounding. Listening to music or videos sound amazingly crisp and clear. This is where the evolved designation comes in, as they are “tuned by their expert acoustic engineers”. They definitely do sound better than last years model. When listening to podcasts or when in meetings, voices (both mine and others on the call) also come out clear as well. The microphones are able to pick up my voice and reduces any background noises that are in the same room as me.
Utilizing the app is another great feature, as you can customize the equalizer or utilize the noise cancellation feature. Battery life has been very good, they are stated to last about 30hours on a single charge. They sync with my phone and tablet very seamless and am very glad with this newer edition.

This is my first pair of Bower + Wilkins headphones though not my first foray into the world of luxury premium audio products. That said, it probably comes as no surprise that the latest iteration of their entry-level wireless Bluetooth headphone, the Px7 S2e (‘E’ for evolved), delivers a deliciously satisfying listening experience.
These headphones are designed with style and beauty in mind second only to its exceptional sound quality. The headphones come with a velvet-lined, zippered protective case that cleverly stows the USB-C to USB-C charging cable and USB-C to 3.5mm wired cable in a magnetic compartment in the middle. The minimalist monotone color palette used throughout complements soft curves and clean lines in its handsome yet durable construction. Adjusting the flexible headband feels smooth and seamless and is free of any creaks or clicks, and they fold flat for storage.
These cans are weighty at around 11 oz but don’t feel heavy because of how well-balanced they are. The leatherette-lined headband offsets and distributes the weight, and the clamping force is firm but not uncomfortably tight. I like that oval ear cups are tall and wide with angled interiors, giving your ears more room inside the cup without adding bulk, and the soft leather pads create a good seal around the ear for isolation. This design also helps contain and direct the sound from the 40mm drivers into your ear canals.
Upon powering on the headphones for the first time, my smartphone detected it immediately and even prompted me to download the accompanying B&W Music app. After creating an account or logging in, you’ll add the headphones to the app by pairing over Bluetooth 5.2, so you can change its settings. By default, noise cancelling is enabled, and it works well thanks to its use of 6 microphones to detect and eliminate background noise. The mics are also used when making hands-free calls for clear noise-free pickup of your voice. Alternatively, you can use the USB-C for a wired connection (up to 24-bit/48kHz), if your Bluetooth codec doesn’t support aptX Adaptive or HD for hi-res audio transmission.
Pressing the quick action key on the left earpiece switches to pass-through mode which lets the mics pickup audio so that you can listen to your surroundings without taking the headphones off. Pressing once more toggles ANC off, but just note that without pass-through audio, the passive isolation of the ear cups is still quite good and sounds around you will be dampened. You can also change the function of this key to activate a voice assistant instead, so you can ask your AI questions, make calls, send texts, and control your IoT devices. The position of the key is convenient and places it just under your thumb when cupping the earpiece with your left-hand.
The power switch and playback controls are similarly placed on the right ear cup. Since there are three physical keys to press, the middle multi-function button (MFB) is textured so you can differentiate and identify it, which also gives you a reference point to locate the volume buttons above and below it easily. For track skipping forward or back, you’ll double and triple press the MFB.
In the app you can view the headphone’s battery life, which can last up to 30 hours on a full charge which takes only 2 hours. If you need a quick top up, just 15 minutes of charging can deliver 7 hours of runtime. There’s also an automatic standby feature that will put the device in low power after 15 minutes of inactivity and an adjustable wear sensor that automatically pauses what you’re listening to if you take the headphones off (or lift an ear cup off your ear) and resumes when you replace them. Both of these features can be toggled off in the app as well.
The only EQ adjustments you can make in the app are to boost or reduce the treble or bass by up to +/- 6dB. There is no advanced control that will allow you to adjust the mid-ranges or get more granular. Ostensibly, this is because the sound engineers at B&W have already tuned the drivers to give you the most accurate listening experience, as recorded, though some music streaming apps may allow you to apply additional EQ adjustments.
Speaking of, the sound that the Px7 S2e delivers natively is truly enjoyable. A bit bass heavy perhaps, but in a good way. Even so, the sound overall was full and detailed with bright trebles and rich, clean textures. The headspace and sound stage both felt adequately spacious though not large, per se, which is typical of closed back headphones. However, I found the stereo separation and imaging to be clean and precise.
Overall, the listening experience with the Px7 S2e is satisfying, immersive, and comfortable even over longer listening sessions. You can pair them with up to two Bluetooth source devices simultaneously, and the battery lasts all day on a single charge. I also like the option of using them wired, though I found the volume levels are somewhat reduced when doing so.

The Bowers & Wilkins PX7 S2e Wireless Noise Canceling Over-the-Ear Headphones in the stunning Ocean Blue color variant are some of the best headphones I have had the pleasure of using to date. Let me start by saying, these headphones are nothing short of a masterpiece.
First and foremost, the design of these headphones are true testament to elegance and sophistication that Bowers & Wilkins have made here. The Ocean Blue finish is really sleek, and the build quality on these are exceptional. The headphones are not only aesthetically pleasing but also incredibly comfortable to wear. The memory foam ear cushions are lightweight and never once did they feel sweaty to me after wearing them for a 5 hour flight. These are perfect for long listening sessions.
Bowers & Wilkins has truly outdone themselves when it comes to the sound quality in this department. The audio is nothing short of great. The headphones deliver a rich, detailed soundstage with deep, punchy bass, clear and crisp mids, and sparkling highs. Whether I was listening to music, an immersive action movie, or a funny podcast, the PX7 S2e headphones handled every genre with finesse, allowing me to hear nuances in my favorite tracks that I had never noticed before. The noise cancellation technology in these headphones is simply outstanding. It effortlessly blocked out all the background noise. Whether I was traveling on a noisy airplane, working in the office, or simply relaxing at home, the noise cancellation feature created a serene, uninterrupted listening experience.
The PX7 S2e comes with a nice sturdy carrying case that has a pocket flap that stores the charging cable along with a 3.5mm headphone jack to USB-C adapter. The 3.5mm adapter is very clutch, especially if you’re someone who travels a lot and wants to use the entertainment screen on a plane, so you don't have to use those uncomfortable earbuds they give you.
The battery life of the PX7 S2e headphones is impressive, offering hours of continuous playback on a single charge. The quick charge feature is always a nice addition, which provides hours of usage with just a short charge. This convenience ensures that my music and podcast are always within reach.
I also appreciate the intuitive button controls on the ear cups, with the 3 buttons on the right ear cup allowing me to adjust the volume, skip tracks, and answer calls with ease. Then on the left ear cup there is one button with the ability to switch between ANC and pass through Audio. The headphones seamlessly connect to all of my devices via Bluetooth/power switch, where you just hold it up for a couple of seconds and it will go into pairing mode and you’re good to go. The bluetooth connection on these are Phenomenal, in that I have had zero connection issues between my devices and they pair super easy with everything.
Overall, the Bowers & Wilkins PX7 S2e Wireless Noise Canceling Over-the-Ear Headphones in Ocean Blue are a true auditory delight. Their exquisite design, unparalleled sound quality, top-notch noise cancellation, and comfortable fit make them some of the best wireless headphones you can get. I am thoroughly impressed and can confidently say that they have elevated my listening experience to new heights.

I have never used Bower Wilkins products so this was a first....
I have always heard of Bower Wilkins brand reputation before but never had a chance to use their products. So I was super excited to try these headphones out.
Setup was a snap.
Downloaded the app from Google store and Paired with Bluetooth... Took all but 1 min.
Comfort and feel is really good.. All day use is definitely a possibility because the foam is nice and squishy and the pressure is good.
Headphones seal nicely. Use of noise cancelling and pass through ambient is good and easy to control.
Sound quality is really good. I streamed Dolby Atmos and it held up fine. Treble and Bass are easy to control and distinct in sound. Super easy to control with right hand operation primarily and left hand button. So not bad Bower Wilkins.
Phone calls were good. No problems there.
Battery life is good. 3 almost full days (5 hours each day) use and I am down to 50% battery life.
Comes with soft case and the headphones are just the right size and stores down nice and compact. Color of metallic blue is nice and different from the standard black or gray.
Overall. Great headset for those of you who need to wear these all day long and need a super comfy headset. Added plus..... Great sounding headphones.
I would recommend this product.. nicely done.

I have owned Bowers & Wilkins’ P7 (wired) headphones for years and have loved the build quality and the smoothness of their sound signature since day one. I couldn’t wait to see what their newest wireless headset with active noise cancellation, the Px7 S2e (the “e” stands for “evolved”), sounded like. B&W refers to these headphones as “entry level”, but all things are relative when your flagship speaker system has an MSRP of $100,000. Most people will equate “entry level” with $30 phones from a big box discounter, but these are not those.
B&W has basically two over-the-ear headphones in their lineup, these and the Px8. There is the “original” Px7 S2 still being sold that the S2e evolved from, and there is also a McLaren Edition Px8 which is essentially a different trim of the “regular” Px8. The Px7 S2e has inherited some technical prowess from the Px8 in the form of the 24-bit digital signal processing, but lacks the carbon cones in the drivers of the Px8. However that does not make the Px7 S2e a slouch when it comes to music reproduction. The drivers in the ear cups are angled to produce a better focused sound stage, are a generous 40mm in diameter, and have the same low <0.1% total harmonic distortion of the top of the line product. You can see how technology marches on, as my P7 have a <0.3% THD spec.
When you reach a certain price point in audio equipment, the sensory experience of the feel of materials and the visual elegance of the product takes on almost the same importance as the music reproduction. A Bowers & Wilkins product is a joy to hold in your hands as well as an optic treat for your eyes, and the Px7 S2e does not disappoint in either department. The world would be a better place if everything was designed as well and was built with as much care and pride.
But these headphones are not simply form over function as the simple yet effective controls are laid out in an easy to comprehend configuration that can be navigated easily by feel. The right ear cup has four buttons positioned along the back edge that you operate with your right thumb and from the top down are a slide switch for on, off, and pairing, the volume up button, the multi-function button that controls play, pause, skip forward, and skip back, and lastly the volume down button. There is a small LED indicator immediately below the on/off switch to indicate if the headphones are turned on, charging, or in pairing mode. The multi-function button also comes into play when using the headphones for a phone call, as it controls answering a call, hanging up, rejecting a call, merging two calls, or muting the microphones. There is but a single button on the back edge of the left ear cup called the “Quick Action” button and it controls either the “Environmental Controls” which is toggling through Noise Cancelling On, Pass-Through On, Noise Cancelling and Pass-Through Off. “Pass-Through” allows some external sounds from the environmental or conversations to be heard without removing the headphones. Using the free Bowers & Wilkins Music app on your smartphone, the Quick Action button can instead be programmed to control the voice assistant on your listening device that is connected to the headphones.
The ear cups contain sensors that can tell if one or both earpieces have been removed from your ear(s). The programming that is playing will be automatically paused when you lift an ear cup away from your head such as to listen to someone speaking to you, and if you remove the headphones completely, they will enter a power saving standby mode until you again place them on your head.
The included accessories are a 45” charging cable which is USB-C to USB-C (no charging adapter is included), a 45” USB-C to 3.5mm mini phone plug to use with devices that do not have Bluetooth connectivity but have the appropriate jack, and a cloth-covered, form-fitted carrying case to hold the headphones that has a magnetically-latched compartment for the cords. The case should be billed as a storage case rather than a carrying case as it does not have a handle making it more suitable to be stowed in luggage rather than being toted about on its own.
Having had the two big powerhouse brands in active noise cancelling headphones in our house, I can say the B&W technology is just as good in real-world use. Four microphones for noise cancelling and two microphones for voice make talking on the phone with the Px7 S2e a pleasurable experience even when discussing your car’s extended warranty. With colder weather approaching in many places, these over the ear headphones are a great accessory for listening to entertainment or catching up on phone calls when out for a walk as they help keep your ears warm in a way that ear buds just cannot do.
The Bowers & Wilkins Px7 S2e comes in four monochromatic colors, blue, green, light gray, and black. All are pleasant, softly muted colors that complement the luxury appearance of the materials. The padded surfaces are not leather, but are a very good simulation and in no way distract from the expensive feel of the headphones. If you are looking for a great gift for the music lover in your life, or simply as a way to reward yourself, I can’t think of a better way than with this strikingly beautiful audio gear.

There are, to my mind, three categories of private-listening devices, including earbuds, on-the-ear headphones, and over-the-ear headphones. I have used all three many times, and I generally prefer the latter two because I really don’t like sticking things in my ears.
Between on-the-ear and over-the-ear headphones, I generally have liked both with a slight favor to over-the-ear because, I think, they do a better job of eliminating extraneous sounds no matter how “noise-cancelling” a pair of on-the-ear headphones can be. I have found both types to feature good sound and good comfort.
Which brings us to these Bowers and Wilkins over-the-ear headphones. In short, I have found them to be the nicest pair of ear-listening devices of any kind I have ever experienced. They are quite comfortable, the sound quality is superb, they do a great job of excluding outside sounds, and they look and feel great. That last one is one of highlights of these phones.
The box containing these headphones arrived by a delivery service, and the first I thing I thought when I was handed the box was, “these can’t possibly be headphones—the box is too heavy.” But yes, when I opened it, the headphones were there, and then I thought, “they can’t possibly be comfortable because they’re too heavy.” But no, after gettting them out of the box and fitting them to my head, my description of how they feel is better stated as “substantial,” not heavy. So that’s a good thing. They have a good heft to them.
The ear-surrounding cups are quite comfortable, and, when the bracket is properly adjusted for my head size, they felt great. What really matters in over-the-ear headphone comfort, I think, is how completely they fit over the year and how soft the cushions are. These headphones excel in both areas.
The phones actually come in a very nice, stiff, blue carry-case that holds both the phones themselves and two cables. One is a USB-C to USB-C cable that is needed to charge the phones (no A/C adapter is included, so you’ll need to provide one or plug these into a USB-C port on a computer to charge them). The other is an mini-audio plug to USB-C cable so that you can listen to audio by a direct, wired connection instead of wirelessly.
But the primary connection method by which these are expected to be used is wireless Bluetooth to your phone, tablet, etc., and the connection process could not be simpler. The only written instruction included in the box is a direction to download the Bowers and Wilkins Music app and follow its directions. Once downloaded and started, the app asks you to first create an account before doing anything else, and then it immediately goes into pairing mode. A quick press of the power button on the headphones sets them up for pairing, and the pairing is accomplished in seconds. I was listening to music from my tablet literally less than two minutes after finishing the app dowload.
In addition to the power button, which is on the right-side cup, there are volume-up and volume-down buttons and a button to change modes. There is also a mode “quick change” button on the left-side cup.
The app gives control over the various listening modes in terms of “noise cancelling,” “normal,” and the like, and I generally leave mine in the normal mode. The sound is full and rich, the headphones are very comfortable, and I could lie on my couch all day listening to music and never get anything else done.
Get a pair of these, and you’ll never want nor need another pair of headphones.

Bowers & Wilkins - Px7 S2e Over-the-Ear Headphones - Ocean Blue
If you receive these as a gift you will know you are loved. They are a beautiful package, with a rich case carefully cradling the precious technology inside. And they sound wonderful. The explanation for that look on your face is best explained by sharing them, if only for a minute, with nearby onlookers. These are a memorable experience for all the right reasons.
SETUP: The newer Bluetooth versions have greatly increased the simplicity and reliability of connecting to your devices and even made connecting to a couple of devices easier. I downloaded the B&W Music App that provides connections or links to several streaming services. I’m an iTunes user, so these were not useful, and frankly, in the way, permanently. It’s my only complaint in the entire review and limited to the App. It’s at the bottom of this intrusive (for me) list of music sources that I found the tab that brings me to a suite of headphone management tools, such as environmental controls (noise cancellation, passthrough) and a simple Treble/Bass slide control.
CONTROLS: More useful and exceptionally easy to find and engage are the set of controls embedded on the headphone cups, themselves. The right cup buttons from the bottom are Volume Down, Pause, Volume Up and a spring loaded On/Off button. I love having a distinct, direct action On/Off button. In fact, I really prefer these raised buttons that don’t leave me hunting and guessing about my choices. On the Left Headphone Cup is the easy-to-find button which selects Noise Cancellation, Passthrough and Neither. I like nifty technology. But playing hide and seek with controls you typically use by touch alone is not progress. B&W gets this all correctly. This makes our lives easier. Yet another reason to grin.
I needed to make a phone call during my listening session and both of us on the call were quite comfortable with the clarity. low noise, and volume of the voices.
The B&W Px7 S2e are also very comfortable, with a reasonable amount of head and ear clamping, and a soft feel both resting on my balding head and along the side of my face. There is a bit of heat build-up over a few hours around my ears but the comfortable ear cups just need to be pulled away for a half minute to cure that.
NOISE CANCELLATION: The only button on the Left headphone cup makes applying noise cancellation fast and reliable. I found the removal of middle to lower background noise frequencies to be obvious and effective when the sound was steady or droning. Even background voices took a giant step away when I applied the ANC. It’s not the absolute silence that at least one other headphone can achieve. However, what B&W achieves results in no effect on the quality of the program sound when ANC is engaged, There was no hissing. I couldn’t hear any adverse impact on music or voices, other than the background noise in the surrounding environment faded away.
PERFORMANCE: The B&W Px7 S2e present every type of performance in a lively, natural, and accurate staging that balances all the elements in the soundscape created by the artists and/or producer. I could easily see these headphones used in a studio. The B&Ws manage to capture the widest range of audio frequencies while also reproducing the dynamic range of a program. They are smooth. They emphasize no particular frequency, although the bass energy could be bigger than I prefer. This was easy to control using the 2-band equalizer. The B&Ws manage to reveal subtleties in the performance that I’m not sure I’ve heard before. When I first placed them on my head I was surprised by the liveliness of these first songs, because I’m more familiar with a laid-back sound in many headphones. These B&Ws present a very realistic reproduction of music and accompany video programs perfectly. They are well worth comparing to other headphones in price brackets near and above their price.
Very highly recommended. I think others will find themselves explaining their silly grins, too.

I enjoy all types of music, needless to say, that means I'm a difficult customer to please with just one headset. I have alot of headphones, wired, wireless, studio, consumer-grade etc. I understand it wouldn't be fair to pit this headphone against some of the consumer level headphones, but at this price point it's kind of in between mainstream consumer and audiophile level audio... and it hits it out of the park.
When you receive the product, the case, the wires, the feel of the material, you already know you're in for something special. Most of the attention is obviously to the craft of the headphones. If you're shopping for this you already know the specifications - 24bit DSP processing, 40mm custom drivers, ergonomic comfortable fittings, active noise cancelling 6 microphones, you're spending this kind of money you already know all that. So the question is, how does it sound?
Out of all my my consumer headphones, airpod max, bose qc45, bose 700, sony xm5, beats pro, etc. This is not even in the same level. Once you put it on it's definitely a class above. Which is insane because some of those headphones are in the same price range. The audio is very crisp, pin drop crisp. Stage profile is not unrealistically overwhelming and perfectly tight around your head. Feels appropriately tight infront of you. If you want to be technical the headset is listed as distortion <0.1% (1khz/10mw), which I have no way to test but I wouldn't doubt it at all.
The mids/highs/dialogue/vocals feels very tight, very accurate, and noise/distortion free from wired but even from bluetooth/wireless. Things have come along way for wireless and with this headset, I feel comfortable listening to hi fi music without wires, it's that good.
This headset is NOT for gamers. I did try a few video games both on console and on my phone, just to feel what it's like. The bass does not have the same 'thump' and impact as a dedicated gaming headset. It may not seem like a big deal, but I would not whole heartedly recommend this if you are using this headset for that purpose; I felt in my call of duty, elden ring sessions, the lightness of the bass/low end does not feel as immersive as my other gaming headsets that over-exagerrate the bass. This headset is for faithful reproduction, which it has in spades. The symphony/acoustic portions of elden ring, it does shine, but in battles and deep bass, it was not as engaging.
Other nitpicks, i wish they included different cables. You get two cables, a USBC to 3.5mm stereo jack, a USBC to USBC. There was no lightning port (but this will be extinct soon any way) but it would've been nice to have a 6.5mm (1/4") or lightning cable as an option.
Bottom line: this product is best for the enthusiast that is curious of hi fi audio. I'm not addicted and can't put this thing down and now itching to move up to the px8. It's a pricey entry, but one worthwhile. LOVE this thing.
