Excellent sound quality, esp if you like bass
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We own several headsets, including MS Surface, Bose QC 35ii, Betas Studio, and AKGs. These B&W headsets are right up there in quality with the others, but particularly beating the Bose and AKG headsets in quality across sound ranges. Also, the larger ear cuffs provide better sound isolation, coupled with excellent ANC. The bass is particularly good compared to the others without compromising the mids and highs. More of an emphasis that a compromise. So, excellent, rich sound throughout. My only issue so far has been an occasional break in the Bluetooth connection that causes spotty delivery. It happens perhaps every 10 minutes or so, but does not happen with the other headsets. Hence the one star penalty. Otherwise, a stellar headset that competes with other great brands.

Headphones that do it all in any environment
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The PX7 headphones excel in their visual appearance, wear comfort and audio reproduction. I was truly amazed at the depth of the bass and the clarity and richness of the sound stage. The overall sound quality throughout the volume range stayed true, no audio loss or muffle or distortion at either end of the sound spectrum. I have always found that headphones lose audio quality as the volume is below or above the normal listening level but this was not the case with the PX7s. I spent the first day of owning these headphones just playing various songs from my playlist and enjoying them on a whole new level. The headphones themselves sit fully over the ear and are comfortable to wear. The ear cuffs are soft and pliable so they aren’t noticeable. Even with glasses on these headphones seemed to disappear with time. The main function buttons (on/off, Bluetooth pairing, play control, phone call control and volume) are on the right ear piece and are easy to distinguish by touch. The noise cancelling button is on the left ear piece. There is a led on the right ear to help indicate the status of the PX-7. All functions are intuitive and are quickly learned. The PX7 have wear sensors which are quite useful. As soon as you remove the headphones the music is paused until you put them back on so you never miss a beat. To answer a call while using the headphones is accomplished by pressing the multi-function which is easy to locate on the right ear piece. Phone conversations were clear and most people had no idea I was using a headset until I told them. Connecting with Bluetooth is straight forward and you can connect two devices at once however only one a can be playing at a time. This can be a major plus if you are using multiple devices in the day. The headphones do include a 3.5mm audio cable and a usb cable if you would rather hard wire the headphones vs use Bluetooth. The headphones are charged using the included usb cord. The battery life is listed as 30 hours and you can get 5 hours out of a 15 minute quick charge. The noise cancellation has three settings Low, High and Auto as well as a separate setting for the Ambient Pass Through. I felt the PX-7s were good at cancelling out noise but I struggled a little more with Ambient Pass Through. What I found worked best for me was to pause any playback and then adjust the Ambient Pass Through volume on the phone app until the low level hiss from the external microphones disappear totally or reached a low tolerable level. The PX7 app which you download to your phone was helpful but still lacks some basic tools. In the Noise Cancel page you can control the noise cancellation and Ambient Pass Through which I found I used the most. In the Connection page you can see and control which devices are Bluetooth connected and this can be handy when switching between devices. In the Settings page you can control the Wear Sensor, Voice prompts and Standby timer which are set once and generally forgotten. What is missing is the lack of media or audio control from the app. I would like to be able to open the app when setting the noise cancelling functions and be able to tune the audio to match the settings. Also it would be really nice if they included a battery level indicator in the app. All considering, I am very happy with these headphones and would highly recommend them to anyone who wants a headphone that can do it all in any environment.

Unbelievable sound, but pricey and bulky
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For context, this is the first pair of headphones I have ever owned. I've always used earbuds because of their size. Prior to these headphones, I used Samsung Galaxy Buds. Now to the review: The good: Sound quality is absolutely amazing. For $400, you would expect it to knock your socks off, and these do not disappoint. I thought the sound quality on my Galaxy Buds was top notch, but these make them sound pretty ordinary. The depth of the sound makes me feel like I'm in a sound proof recording room when I put these on. Noise Cancellation is excellent. I don't have to turn the sound way up like I do on my Galaxy Buds. I tested these commuting on the train, grinding coffee beans, and blowing leaves, and was in my own world, oblivious to the noise around me. I could get mugged and probably barely notice. I'd like to think it's easier on the eardrums as well. The physical buttons actually work. While old school compared to the touchpads, I have a hard time getting the touchpads to actually do what I want. Physical buttons work everytime. Bluetooth connectivity is flawless. I've had connection issues with other products, but none with these headphones. The bad: They are not very comfortable. This may be an issue on my end since I have never worn headphones before. But the earpieces kind of push against my jawbone. I wore these for about 4 hours in a row at work, and my jaw was noticeably tired. I prefer the fit of earbuds. They also get very hot. Since it's winter, they actually work pretty well as earmuffs, but I can imagine they would get sweaty in the summer. Also pretty bulky so utility, such as working out with them, is not great. Headphones also mess up my hair. I'm vain, don't judge. The autopause feature is too sensitive. The music pauses when you remove just one of the earpieces. I like to half way listen to my wife when she talks to me, but this feature requires me to fully listen. Probably better for my marriage... Pretty ordinary appearance. I've seen other high end headphones that actually look high end. These have high end sound, but don't look it. Like I said, I'm vain.... Verdict: If you have cash to burn, the sound quality of these headphones will not disappoint. However, while I'm getting used to wearing them, they are just not that comfortable. The sound is so amazing that I learn to live with it, but I prefer the fit and utility of earbuds. If I could only get one pair, I would sacrifice the sound quality for utility. In a perfect world, everyone could be in the top 1% and have both and pick and choose what to wear in different settings.

Great sound and Great Features
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These headphones are my new favorites. I have other noise cancelling headphones and other ones that allow pass-through sound while listening. While the sound is great on all of them, what sets these apart for me is the fact that you can higher and lower the pass-through volume. So when on a plane I can allow for lower pass through so that the conversation near me aren't that loud, but when I hear an announcement, I can listen closely and hear it. The adaptive noise cancellation also work well. But on top of everything, these are also the most comfortable over the ear headphones that I have. They actually fit over my ears. I don't have big ears, but they're not small. Most over over the ear headphones actually are a little tight. So for the sound, the pass-through and comfort, I would highly recommend these headphones.

Great premium headphones
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.-- Build Quality -- This is simply superb, as you would expect for something in this price range. The unit is nicely built, and comes with a nice case, a USB-C charging cord, and a 3.5mm analog cable: everything you could need. The only real issue is that the ear cups and top of the head band are covered in some type of fabric. While this gives it a nice feel, it seem that this would be hard to clean if/when you get dirt on them. --- Sound Quality --- This is where this unit really shines. The sound quality is simply excellent. The bass was present without being overpowering. The best way to describe the sound is "balanced." These headphones just present the music and get out of your way, without coloring it in any way. -- Noise Cancelling -- While I did not have a chance to try this on an aircraft, I took it to an office environment with a rather noisy office environment with a loud force-air heating system. The noise cancelling even managed to do an effective job of reducing the white noise of the heater. Impressive. You can control the settings through the app, or a dedicated button on the side. These also feature an "ambient pass-through" that will allow you to hear what is going on in the "real world." However, when this mode is engaged, it practically mutes all audio. It would be nice to have an option to be able to listed to your music/movie while still being able to hear a little of what is going on outside. Since the "ambient pass-through" does mute the audio, you might as well just take the headphones off rather than bother with this feature. Maybe a future firmware upgrade will fix this. -- Comfort -- I would describe the comfort as "above average," but not excellent. I have a larger head, with larger ears, and I wear eyeglasses. It is comfortable for about an hour or so before it starts to get annoying. However, the hinges on the ear cups are stiff enough where you can tilt them to get the pressure more on the front of your ears and lift them off of the rear. This allows you to relieve some of the pressure for extended wearing, but at the cost of a little noise isolation. -- User Interface -- One primary way to control this is with the app (which I only tested on Android devices). It seemed to work well on a modern Moto X4 (using Android 9). However, when paired with an older tablet using Android 7, the app had difficulty connecting to the headphones unless audio was actively playing. This is fine when you are listening to music, but while watching movies, the movie will pause (and mute) when it is set aside to start the headphone app. Still, you will likely only use the app occasionally to get it set up at first. The headphones can also sense when you remove them from your head, and is supposed to pause the audio source when this happens. This feature can only be turned on or off from the app. It mostly worked OK, but I noticed that when watching movies through Amazon Prime, lifting the headphones would not pause the movie, although it worked great for music. Finally the use a recorded voice to announce the setting (such as adjusting the noise cancelling). These announcements appear to be English only, and I could not find an option to change to another language. This is not a negative for me, but it might be for some people. -- Summary -- Overall, these are great headphones, with only a couple of minor warts.

B&W PX7 Sounds great but...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The B&B PX7 is a great set of cans. I’ve had the P5, P7, C5 and the C5 series 2. Their products have been amazing. Eventually switched to the Bose QC35 for my travels. The Bose was good for cancelling out noise but the sound quality was terrible. I decided to try out B&W’s 2nd gen of the PX series. The sound quality is spectacular. Pairing them on the app was a bit of a struggle but eventually figured it out. Did a side by side test with the Bose QC 35. Listened to The Beach Boys - Wouldn’t it be nice. You can definitely hear the difference. There’s a random rattling noise I get when I move my head or when I’m walking. Not sure were its coming from. It definitely not the buttons. It may be for the band itself. The rattling sound is very annoying when I’m walking. Also the app is not as intuitive as Bose. May be its downfall and the reason I return them.

Sleek Headphones!!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The B&W headphones are pure in class with regards to sound quality, clarity, design, build quality and overall performance. They were easy to pair up with my Android phone. The noise-cancellation feature is truly second to none as I was eager to see how this feature would work and believe you me, it did NOT disappoint. The only con is that the ear cavities after prolonged usage were a little tight and thus causing my ears to sweat because I wore them while on my daily walk routine. If you are wanting a good pair of quality headphones for yourself or either another person, these beauties are definitely worth taking a look at!!

WOW
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Been looking for the perfect headphone and I found it. I’ve owned the QC35 and the XM3 so I’ve tried the best stuff on the market. The QC35 feel lighter and can take a beating, but lack a good sound quality. The XM3 has poor durability, and it tends to break on the hinges (twice for me). PX7 has amazing sound, app is simple and the noise canceling is same or better then the XM3s so far. I have a big head and so far after 2 hours of use I feel no fatigue. I’m in love!

Great quality, with bluetooth chip was better
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall I am very pleased with my PX7, my only complaint is I feel the bluetooth chip used is inferior when compared to other headsets. I am on roughly 6-8 hours of meeting every day as a remote worker; the fit, finish and comfort is second to none. However if I step away from my MacBook Pro and get more than 15' away I start having audio quality issues. This is exponentially worse when more than one device is connected to the headphones at one time. This is not a dealbreaker for me and if I stay inside my office they are by far the best headphones I have had. I also tried the Jabra Evolve2 85 headphones, returned them 1 day after purchasing and bought the PX7. The Jabra had a better bluetooth experience but sound was sub par.

Posted .I am running a 2017 MacBook Pro and an iPhone 11 Pro and also use PX7. The range with the MacBook is worse than my iPhone. Using another manufacturers well-regarded True Wireless headphones, I also have the same problem- the iPhone has better Bluetooth range than my MacBook Pro and perhaps that is also what you are experiencing.
