His and Hers Smart Laser Hair Removal

THIS… Is the Braun IPL Pro 7 hair removal, and while that is a jumble of words, the results are straightforward. I had a few skepticisms, mainly is this going to hurt, how will it do on my tattoo, and overall what can I expect this to do vs waxing/professional laser removal. Being about the same cost as one session with a professional laser removal, lets see how well this etch a sketches the hair off! Before we get started, I think expectation setting is pretty big. This isn’t going to remove all the hair at once, and neither does a professional job. The box says around 12 weeks is a the average cycle and then routine maintenance thereafter, I noticed results in about two weeks (the box says 3) and obviously found this significantly easier than scheduling to go somewhere and have it done. You can also move the dates around which is nice, sometimes I just don’t feel like spending 20/30 minutes zapping hair off, but I can the next day and the app auto adjust the dates around. One additional thing I also want to outline is the hair types and skin types, the laser does a really good job at telling what type of skin you have to determine if it is appropriate to use, however, you should also avoid or trial it on tattoos. The IPL Pro 7 makes you test an area of skin to make sure you don't react, so there are a lot of good safeguards built in to prevent mishaps. My wife’s skin is rather sensitive as a red head, and even she really didn’t notice any side effects which was nice to see as I was rather worried about her getting a rash. I credit this really to the adjustability of the power settings which allowed her to rock at a lower power than I did! That being said, I would look at what skin types and hair types are supported as darker skins and some lighter hair colors are not traditionally supported. Now, out of the box I was shocked to see that it came in a sleek pink bag and even though this is for my wife AND me, we both really enjoyed how well the bag tucked everything away and came with a nice razer out of the box. Setup was honestly really easy, you download an app, pair it to your phone via bluetooth and then you are onto the trial phase. Like mentioned earlier, the IPL Pro 7 actually test your skin up to 80 times a second and adjust the laser to your skin type, but first you have to test a spot of skin. For me, I picked right under my peck as I am really interested in thinning out some of my chest hair and she picked a spot on her leg. Here was the moment of truth, DOES IT HURT? And the answer is… no not really, you have to shave your test area (and all areas before use) however, it didn’t hurt at all. Uncomfortable would be the word to use, and burnt hair smell is another, but in the scheme of pain this is really such a non problem that I laugh at the fact that we were even worried. In the peritoneal area, the intensity is a bit higher, but as expected as your skin is a bit thinner/more sensitive around the nether regions and I adjusted the power intensity down for that area. The last thing I want to touch on was the app, I feel like every new smart gadget has an app that is in a varying state of really good to why is this even included and I wanted to honestly really praise Braun for making a really good app. It is apparent that the engineers making this are also the ones using it. The whole process was really streamlined and the app was pretty snappy! I also liked the smart calendar that helped plan out when you should laser your hair again and then adjust it to your preferences/availability. Setting up a schedule for which region you wanted to laser was also really well made and really left no question out of the picture. You will have to make a schedule for each area of your body, but that was nice because sometimes my wife wanted to do her legs but not her bikini area that day, so she wasn’t on the same timeline for both and was able to adjust both around to when she felt like doing it. Using the Braun IPL Pro 7 was so easy that I questioned why one would even go get it done professionally? I mean really, from taking it out of the box to using it, I felt like a pro in no time and thanks to the app; I can also track and be reminded when I should use it again. I think the biggest problem people have with at home laser hair removal is that they don’t have an accurate idea of what it does, and where it should be used. You (per the box) should not use it on darker skin complexions or certain hair colors (like brighter red), and should also not use it on tattoos. Now I used this on my tattoo with no problem, but your mileage may vary and that's why I implore you to test the area before you go gung ho (Both on a manufacturer supported and not supported skin type). Now I haven’t used this long enough to see large results, but I can say that my hair is obviously growing back thinner and slower. Same for the wifes legs and bikini line, and we both love using it as it is again, literally just so easy to use. The best part of the whole thing is when you buy this at Best Buy… you never have to worry about getting the Pro 7 and being stuck with it. I loved this laser, but it is a very opinionated subject that is personal to my body. Which is what makes Best Buy awesome as you aren’t going to be stuck with the laser if you react poorly which took the pain out of trying this as I wasn’t stuck with a 500 led light if it didn’t work ….so why not test it out!?

Braun Skin i-expert Smart IPL is a very ingenious product for hair removal. My wife has always had issues with very hairy legs, and she would often go get waxed at her salon. But Braun has changed the game, so far, so good. She was able to remove hair from her legs without the ouch and with very smooth results. The package included three heads for clothes and precise treatment: a standard head for her body hair and legs, a wide head for the back and those bigger areas, and a precision head for eyebrows and Chin areas. It also included a Gillette Venus razor for initial hair removal. The companion app learns after each treatment and improves the effectiveness of the device. It also has a neat carrying case and setup instructions The IPL unit emits pulse light to condition and soften skin. It's an excellent system, depending on your skin tone, so you have to check to ensure you're compatible with this particular model. That was the only time I found it's not made for everyone.

Laser hair removal in the comfort of your home

The Braun IPL7 is a safe laser hair removal system designed for home use. I was truly impressed with the attractive suede-like case that comes with the IPL7, and it has room to hold everything you need, including a somewhat bulky cord with power brick. I want to stress that with all devices of this nature, it’s imperative to read the directions thoroughly from cover-to-cover for obvious safety reasons. Fortunately, Braun has taken a lot of the guesswork out of using the device, as it is able to discern subjective choices such as skin tone accurately, so that you don’t have to guess and worry about being wrong. To make things even easier, Braun provides an app for your smartphone to walk you through each step of the way for each area that you chose to work on, such as chest, legs, thighs, underarms, etc. Because I am totally new at this, I chose treatments starting with the underarms, choosing the most sensitive settings. While it does require more sessions using the most sensitive setting, I felt most comfortable at this setting for an initial treatment. The Braun IPL7 does with three interchangeable heads designed to adapt to the size of area you are treating. In use: At first trial use and following the instruction pamphlet, I tested a small area of my leg to experience how it feels and to check for any skin reaction, such as redness. The only sensation is a feeling of warmth, and of course very bright light. Once I felt thoroughly familiar with the device and with the smartphone app at my side, the process is quick and easy and only takes a few seconds to complete a session. The app determined eight treatment sessions were recommended for a small underarm area treatment at the most sensitive setting. Fortunately, the app sets up convenient reminders for completing each of the treatment sessions. After the initial treatment is complete in eight weeks in our case, Braun recommends a follow-up treatment, if necessary, about once a month. Of course, with just a couple of treatments under my belt, I won’t truly know the results for several more weeks. After learning the process and knowing that the laser hair removal process is so easy and safe, my wife and daughter are anxious to use the Braun IPL7 after seeing the results of my initial test. Considering the cost and time needed for spa laser hair removal treatments for them, the Braun becomes a very convenient and economical laser hair removal option in the comfort of our home.

I've only been using this for about 9-10 days, so it's hard to say what the long term results are. However, in the time I've been using it, I've found it to be easy to use and effective while causing minimal discomfort. It's designed well with a premium feel and easy to understand directions. Downloading the companion app helps with both learning how to use the device, and tracking your sessions. It also keeps track of your "flashes", which is essentially a countdown until the device is no longer useful and needs to be replaced. I was hoping to use this on my neck and a few spots on my face but the instructions say that, while that is allowed for women, it is not allowed for men. Not sure why that is, but I would love to see an attachment or setting to allow men to use this feature as well. Overall, it does seem to work. You'll need to shave the area you're treating first as this targets the follicle, not grown hair. I didn't find it painful when doing treatment, although it does feel warm in the area. A little lotion after treatment helps, and is good for the skin! The areas I'm treating have seen slower growth and some thinning, so long term this should help. This is a good, at home solution, especially for men who might be a little reluctant to go seek hair removal options due to the stigma. The carrying case is compact and nicely designed for easy travel. I would definitely recommend this for someone looking for a hair removal system that can isn't complicated and allows for maximum privacy during treatments.

I'm excited to share that having had a chance to try this out, I can say it definitely works for someone like me (light skin) and dark hair. After doing a couple of sessions with it I have noticed a reduction and can see that after several treatments that the results will be exactly what I want. I would say that results will be highly dependent on the individual, but you can be confident with the guidance Braun gives on what skin color/hair color combinations work. Using it is super simple and painless or at least for me it was painless. Pairing it with the app is great, as it helps guide you on how to use it to get the best results from a treatment. It also tracks the progress of treatments and keep track of each treatment, so you don't have to remember the last time you did a treatment. It comes with a razor and a nice case so you can store everything that comes with it when it's not in use. I think this would be the perfect gift or splurge to take care of that hair you want gone. So far based on the results I've seen having tried it for a couple treatments, I'd say I'm encouraged by the results so far, and would recommend it! I'd also say keep in mind that it will take a few treatments to get the best results.

    What an experience! (Male perspective)

::Backstory:: I was most looking forward to using this to try to fix a problem I’ve been struggling with in the form of pseudofolliculitis barbae (razor bumps). Unfortunately, shaving for me, has never been a pleasant experience. And it’s not even shaving it’s what happens after. For background, I’m a male with medium-toned brown skin with black hair (pretty fine on my arms but thicker on the legs). After receiving this device and reading thru the included materials - which PLEASE - READ BEFORE YOU GET STARTED - I discovered an interesting caveat with this device. For men, it is recommended that you only use this device on your chest, stomach, arms, back and legs - NOT - your face, neck or genitals; However, for ladies, it’s apparently safe for your upper lip, chin, jawline and bikini area (make that make sense!). I did reach out to Braun just to make sure this wasn’t an error and they confirmed this. No biggie though, my test area was my legs! ::In the Box:: Case, 3 Heads (Precision, Standard and Wide), IPL device and Venus razor. ::Before your first session:: You want to shave the day of or the day before. This allows the device to penetrate follicles the best. Lotions or creams should be avoided and you don’t need sunglasses to use this device (although it is pretty bright - supposedly it’s safe). ::The App - the Shining Star of the experience:: Once you download the app, create your account and pair your device, you’ll begin with the skin compatibility test. You’ll then select the body area, hair color, hair density and goal (quick results, results and skin comfort or skin comfort) along with a start date. The app generates a personalized schedule, based off these previous inputs, with the suggested number of sessions and dates and can even send you reminders. If you need to reschedule this is pretty easy to do as well. During sessions, the app recommends which head, sensitivity (lights) and method (e.g. glide or stamp) you should use and provides real-time feedback as you work at your own pace (take your time). After your session, you should apply sunscreen to treated areas. The app also lets you track how many sessions you’ve completed versus how many you have left and it lets you know when you should start seeing noticeable changes. ::Performance & Thoughts:: I was super worried about this being painful. I am a male and I’ve had microdermabrasion treatments before and I can tell you this is not that painful. I’d recommend starting on the lowest setting and working your way up as you feel comfortable and as with any cosmetic devices, you should probably spot test before you do a whole area of your body. Pros: - The APP: I was super apprehensive and nervous about using this and the app (and really reading thru the guides) really set my mind at ease. - Everything you need is included. - Cheaper and more convenient than going to a clinic: can do this on my own schedule and while I listen to TV or music in the background. Cons: - Time: I think you have to be realistic about the results and realize that this is going to take some time before you start to see noticeable improvements, depending on the area. It’s really a process and everyone’s different - you’ll start to notice the hair grows back weaker and notice the lesser density with more treatments and then eventually hair will stop growing but to get to this point it’s definitely not a sprint (since your hair goes through constant cycles of regrowth) and as long as you go into this with the proper expectations you won’t be let down. - Limitations for guys: Whatever the limitation is on why you can’t use this on face, neck or genitals, this is definitely something I hope they figure out for future models. - Portability: the device isn’t heavy, but having a cordless version would’ve made me love this device even more.

The Braun IPL Pro 7 Hair Removal system is a well designed and easy to use hair removal device. At first glance, you might think it is just an electric razor. It’s not until you take a closer look at the heads that you realize what it is. It feels well made and the power cord allows for plenty of room for use. It does use a power brick similar to what you might find on a PC. I’m sure the laser system is pretty power hungry and that’s the need for the slightly bulky power brick. But in use, it’s really not an issue. There really isn’t much for controls and that’s a good thing. Power button and a use button. It uses an intelligent light system to determine the power level needed. So it really is as simple as run it along your skin and zap the hair follicles. Keep in mind that you do need to shave the area first. It’s not going to zap away grown hair. It’s designed to attack the root of the follicles. Over time, the hair is reduced. It’s not completely permanent. You will need to continue the treatment. But with continuous use, the frequency of use will become less and less. A word of caution that really shouldn’t need to be said but I will, avoid looking at it when you zap! Even though the light is not facing you, the light it emits is so strong you won’t want to even be exposed to the light flashing from under it. It does get a little warm on the skin, but not overly hot. Being that it is designed to work over time I can’t really give a long term results review. But on the short term, it works as advertised and is an easy to use long term hair removal system that anyone can use.

It seems to work well, but I won’t really know for about 12 weeks, so this is just off of first impressions and that it didn’t negatively affect me while trying it. So, the first thing to know is that it isn’t for everyone. I took a picture of the instructions that show what tones it works for, I fit into one of the categories, but not all my hair, granted everywhere I actually want to laser remove hair fits the category so this works. I would suggest reading the instructions as doing something wrong can leave you in a little bit of pain from what I understand. First you want to wash, shave and dry; they even provide a shaver and one razor. They recommend doing a skin test first, I used my lower arm on the underside to see if I would have a bad reaction. Since I didn’t, I was good to go. There are two different methods the gliding and stamping. I mostly did the stamping. The directions say to not overlap your treatment areas, which worried me before I started trying it all as I know how hard it can be to align areas. I shouldn’t have worried at all, while I didn’t have a bad reaction, my skin felt… weird. I tried the gliding method on my chest at first but I found that the stamping method while taking longer worked better for me. I think the best part about this is my chest hair grows pretty fast which I don’t care about that much… except my kids would grab my shirt when I picked them up and would always pull my hair, so I had to start shaving as hair getting pulled is not the most pleasant feeling in the world. Overall, the cable is long enough to use easily and everything including the bag is high quality. I am happy overall with it so far and I think it’s working but only time will truly tell.

The Braun IPL Pro 7 is a top-tier hair removal device that offers a long-term solution for both men and women seeking smoother skin with minimal effort. Designed with advanced IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) technology, this device targets hair at the root, reducing regrowth over time. It’s an ideal option for those tired of regular shaving, waxing, or salon treatments. The Braun IPL Pro 7 uses a skin tone sensor, which adjusts the intensity of the light pulses to suit your skin tone. The Braun IPL Pro 7 only work on people with light to medium skin tone with dark hair. If your hair is too light or your skin tone too dark the device will not work properly, and it will be an expensive paperweight for you. The Braun IPL Pro 7 delivers 400,000 flashes which should be more than enough to get lopng lasting results for the problem areas most people want to use IPl for (armpit, legs, bikini line). If you are new to IPL you can use the device’s gentle mode, or use gentle mode for sensitive areas. My wife has used at home IPL products and she was impressed by how simple and easy to use the Braun IPL Pro 7 was to use. She quickly tossed her old IPL device since it wasn’t as effective as the Braun IPL Pro 7. She is light skinned with dark blonde hair which is one reason IPL works very well for her, and this device has made her IPL routine much more efficient.

The Braun IPL Pro 7 may not do everything a professional salon does, but when used correctly then it can give you the similar results. This does however require you to stay on a schedule and use it properly. Be sure to read the reviews and read who this device is suitable for. Because it is not for everyone. There are also quite a but of areas you can not use it on, the biggest for me and probably others is Tattoos. You can for sure feel some pain when used on the areas that are tattooed, so just be careful. As for the the device itself, it comes in a nice carrying case with a QR code to get you set up with the app. The step by step instructions in the app make the set up and start of use very easy. It walks you through everything you need to do, and does a skin tone test to be sure you are suitable to use the device. The first time using the Braun IPL Pro 7 can be concerning. I did have a little pain sensation the first time using it. It has 3 strength settings and I was using the strongest one, should have started on 1 or 2. But after a few uses I was able to use the strongest setting and the results were amazing! I can noticeable see that the hairs are growing slower and i have to shave less then before I started using the device!

I was a little skeptical about the Braun IPL Pro 7 Hair Remover, but it has performed very well. The instructions recommend using it once a week for six weeks and then once a month after that. I have used it on my under arms 3 times and I can already see an obvious difference. There are visibly less hairs and they seem to be growing more slowly. It has been incredibly easy to use as well. There aren’t a ton of settings which makes the process simpler. I’ve used it on the highest setting each time, doing the stamping method and it only takes 5 minutes or so to complete both sides. While it does feel warm with each press of the button, there is no pain and no discomfort. Because it could cause damage to your eyes if it flashed in them, I greatly appreciate the safety feature of the hair remover not activating unless it is firmly pressed completely against your skin. The device itself is visually appealing and it is comfortable to hold in either hand. The carrying case is very sturdy and high quality as well.
