Customers are saying

Customers regard the Series 9 Wet/Dry Electric Shaver highly for its excellent shaving quality, ease of use, and long battery life. The cleaning station and quieter operation are also frequently praised. However, some customers find the price to be a drawback, and a few have noted that the trimmer and size could be improved. Overall, positive feedback on shaving performance and convenience outweighs concerns about cost and minor design elements.

It's a great gift purchase for your man in your life. I gifted it to my partner and he likes the product. The only drawback is that it doesn't appear to cut all the small stubbles from around the jaw line area so it's not a smooth shave unless you run the machine past your jawline a thousand times. So he ended up using a shaver to finish the job, which I don't like because he often cuts himself while shaving his face. On balance, it's very good at removing long hairs/really grown beards/mustache. But doesn't guarantee a smooth look for use every day without the use of a shaver to finish the job.

OK - Not Improvement from Series 7

I am long time Series 7 user and was looking to update. The Series 9 seemed like the next logical replacement. However its not any better than the 7 (or 8) and in some ways worse. Its biggest flaw is its wide head size; Brauns approach here is 'more is better' - with a wider head and more cutting blades. Unfortunately, the width of the head works against itself, its so wide that it does not respond to curvature of your face. Braun advertises its Contour Pivot Head, but its does not work well in practice due to the width - it reacts too slowly to changing contours because its soo wide. Ironically, I get better shave by 'locking' the head, but that defeats the whole purpose since my hand must now react to the contours. In conclusion - its a good idea in theory - but Braun is throwing too many gimics out here - they need to go with the basics and get them right. I would stick with the Series 7 or 8 as they work well.

I have had a Braun Shaver for almost 5 years. It was finally time for an upgrade. The newest model is excellent!! Easier to clean and charge. I also get a better shave.

So I've been using a very old, other brand, electric razor on and off for a while, off and on, as I use a manual blade most of the time. I also shave my head manually too. I wanted to get away from the manual and to a point of using an electric razor all of the time but the limited time I've had with electric razors always came down to not a good shave for my head. Enter the Braun Series 9. Read ton's of reviews, Youtube reviews, finally made the purchase. OH - MY - WORD - !! This really REALLY is an amazing razor! Admittedly it's slower than the manual but with a bit more practice and time with it I'm sure I can speed things up. The closeness of this razor is INCREDIBLE! Seriously! Just as close as a manual razor and time-wise I'd say it's about 1.5x to 2x as long to get the same results but again they are the SAME RESULTS! Just as close, no mess with shaving cream, no nicks or cuts (like with a manual), and the automatic cleaning cradle is crazy how we'll it cleans it. Like it's brand new. Couldn't be happier with this purchase. Well worth the monies!

For the price you pay it's worth it. That being said yes it's a little loud for some people but when the barber shop uses their clippers it's no louder then that. Also for those who say it doesn't catch all the hair your correct, but also when you go to your local barber shop they do put a cape on you to collect the hair. Overall I'm very pleased with the results they give on my bald head. I've tried many of other clippers as well as the hand-held ones you find out there. So if you add up what you've spent on all these you could've went with this. Stop wasting your money and just spend it all at once. Well worth the money with how much they charge for a clean shave of the head.

I have bought purchased many electric shavers of the years and they were all not what I was expecting for a close shave. Well, I have finally found the shaver of all shavers. This Braun Series 9 is by far the best on the market. Give a very close shave, easy to clean and the design is top notch. This shaver feels great in the hand and even better on my face.

A bit lighter that the Series 7 that it is replacing. Overall the quality seems very good a expected from this line of razors. Cuts smooth and quickly. The edge trimmer is not the best but I have a separate trimmer for more than just strays and touch up. Over all happy with purchase. (Black Friday Sale)

One year later, still the best I've ever owned!

This is my third Braun shaver I've owned in 15 years, first one in the 9 Series. My only issue is that I waited so long to upgrade to the 9. From day one, and now a year later, this is clearly the best shaver I've ever owned. I started with electric shavers over 30 years ago, Norelco and it was great too, but will always have a Braun. Yes, there's a big difference between the 5 series and the 9. I have a fast-growing course beard and the 9 has a much faster and a much better shaving head, almost works too well, as it shaves so close that I almost need more than 24 hours between shaves. That was never the case with the 3, 5 and Norelco's, seems I need to shave every 12 hours with those. After a four day weekend, this thing cuts through fast and smooth. Even a year later, it the shaving head works like it did day one. I have the cordless, wet/dry model. Never used it in the shower, but have rinsed with water to clean when traveling without the base cleaning station. And on that note, I get 3.5 to 4 weeks on the clean and recharge cartridges. They would probably last longer if I rinsed with water more often vs. cleaning every day with the base charging/cleaning unit. But it keeps it clean, sanitary and lubricated, possibly one reason the shaving head still works great a year later.

Owned for 3 mos now. So far works very good. Easy to clean, use and gives great shave. Pretty expensive but over the long term I believe its built to last. Usually the prob with these over the long term is the ability to obtain the parts for shaver head, so make sure you get extra head.

Coming from a Panasonic Arc three for nearly ten years, I have to say that I was a bit underwhelmed by this shaver. It's obviously a much superior product in nearly every way, but I'm not sure it's worth 5 times the price. That said, the Braun 9 is very smooth and cuts through longer hair like nothing at all. The cleaning station works really well, though I would caution against using it after every shave, as the refills could get pricey. My biggest problem with this shaver has to be the trimmer: I can't for the life of me figure out how to get a clean line on my side burns, which is very frustrating because every other similar trimmer I've used cuts straight without thinking about it. It's also difficult to shave stray hairs above the ears with the trimmer, so I've been using my old Panasonic for that function (yeah, pathetic). Braun really dropped the ball with this trimmer. Lastly, I would recommend always doing a dry shave, as wet shaves are messy, uneven, uncomfortable, and inferior in every way. I got this shaver on sale, and I wouldn't recommend it at full price.

I bought this to replace my Braun 7 Series which I had for about four years before the mustache/beard trimmer broke. My first thoughts was how ascetically appealing the 9295 is. The chrome finish makes it look "high class". Picking up the razor the first thing I noticed is that it's quite a bit lighter in weight than the Braun 7 Series. The 7 Series feels like it's built like a tank. I do have concern about the 9295 being lighter and feeling more "plastic" and less substantial in hand but only time will tell regarding durability. Using the new 9295 I was surprised about how much quieter it runs than the Braun 7 Series. As far as shave closeness is concerned, this razor is as close a shave as I have ever got using an electric razor. It's comfortable and caused no irritation at all. It also shaved quicker, I needed to go over the same areas less than I did with the 7 Series. Another feature that stood out to me was the beard/mustache trimmer. The trimmer on the 9295 is on the back of the razor. Once opened it has a 90 degree bend in the trimmer making it much easier to trim straight lines than the Series 7 shaver whose trimmer blades were pointed straight up from in the same direction as the extended trimmer arm. The 90 degree angle on the trimmer faces away from the razor which allows the hair trimming to fall away from the razor. In the Series 7 trimmer the hair trimmings fell inside the area between the razor and the trimmer arm making it more difficult to clean. The trimmer is a big improvement. I haven't tested the run time on a charge because after use I place the razor back into the cleaner/charger housing and it's always fully charged. The razor cleaning/charging unit is larger than the one on the 7 Series and there's more surface area on it which will attract more dust and water marks needing more frequent cleaning. The Using it to clean the razor is quieter than the 7 Series cleaner/charger. So here's a run down: The good: Sleeker looking, quieter shaver, quieter cleaner, shaves closer, much improved mustache/beard trimmer, easier to clean trimmer. The bad: Charging base has a bigger footprint needing more frequent cleaning, the shaver is lighter in weight making it feel more fragile and having a "plastic" feel to it although this can be a positive if it is as durable - time will tell, and the other downside is that this is an expensive razor but you get what you pay for. I would definitely recommend this razor.

I bought this for the special man in my life who was very pleasantly surprised when he opened his Christmas gift! After using it now since then, he said it’s the best shaver he’s ever had. Its very smooth and has a long lasting charge! I bought him a Norelco 2 years ago & it just quit working. I’m hoping this Braun will last much longer!

Had it for over 10 years and replaced the heads twice, but this one is much better and still uses the same cleaning system for which I auto-subscribe from Amazon. In short, an improved product, or at least a new version just as well built and which works just as well. Don’t wait as long as I did to replace your electric shaver.

I have a tough beard in my estimation. This razor gives me a clean, close shave. No burn from the shaver, pretty quiet and feels well in the hand. While it is expensive, I find I do get a better and more comfortable shave from it than the series 7. Don't get me wrong, the 7 does a good job, but overall, I find the 9 a better product.
