Cutting Board helps in multiple ways.

The top of the oven is way too hot to touch or put anything on top. This is a addition to the top of the oven and we cannot burn our arm accidentally. We are not concerned with the cabinet above the Smart Oven, we are happy with the look of this board on top of the oven and if we decide to use it as a cutting board, it is made well and is quite durable. Worth the investment.

A MUST HAVE WITH THE SMART OVEN

I have used it as intended for the Breville Smart Oven Pro which I would not recommend without it. I recommend the Oven as well. It is also used as the heat pad etc. for removing the items as suggested in the Smart Oven book.

It works perfectly as a cutting board but we also use it to cover the burners on our electric stove to prevent anyone from getting burned as the element cools. It is a quality piece. It is well-made and it has a very reasonable price.

Breville Cutting board

It keeps the top of the toaster oven cool to the touch aas well as the cabinet above it. My wife has flammable items displayed on the cutting board that wouldn't have been possible otherwise. Plus you can use it as a cutting board.
