Our family has used and loved this unite for at-least 4-5 years. Going to replace it we were excited to have plates that could be pulled for cleaning since our old unite had to be hand cleaned each use. Product description says:
Removable, dishwasher-safe plates make cleanup simple. The nonstick Quantanium coating is scratch-resistant and ideal for easy cleanup.
Plates are not removable! The nonstick coating has been easy to clean up but is what eventually failed on our old unit. Its a solid unit but kids have commandeered time once used for hand cleaning and we'll be returning for a dishwasher safe press.
