It's a great machine. Very convenient as a first good espresso machine. Is very easy to us, compact, and yields delicious espresso. And it is really ready to use within seconds of turning it on. The automation features are very convenient for quick drinks in the morning. However, there but there are some minor things to be aware of:
If you are intending to use pre-ground coffee, be aware that depending on the grind size and type, you may not be able to get more than 16grams in the basket. With more than that is very difficult to get the portafilter into the machine. Typical espresso shots are between 17 and 19 grams. If you have a good espresso grinder, this should not be an issue.
The auto-frothing option is awesome and convenient, but can be a little inconsistent. I always chose the mid option for amount of foam and sometimes get a nice, silky microfoam, while others it feels more like capuccino foam. You can always manually froth the milk if you prefer more control.
The heating "rack" or "plate" on top of the machine is essentially useless. It only heats up when the machine is pulling a shot or frothing.
Overall is a great machine, but in my opinion, is a bit overpriced. If you are willing to give up the auto-frothing, the regular Bambino might be a better value.

Cannot recommend purchasing the Bambino! Cleaned and followed all instructions but the little Bambino was not up to the task. Expresso was bitter, not hot, and just overall disappointing. Called the Breville help line and tested the temperature as directed by the technician. Was informed 170 degrees was within the acceptable range for the liquid coming out at the top. By the time it was in the cup (cup was at room temperature) it was down to 156. Really wanted to like this compact footprint machine but it just didn’t work for us.
To ensure the hottest shot, the internal tubing, solenoid valve, brew head, portafilter, filter basket and mug need to be preheated. This can be done by simply pulling a blank shot, meaning running hot water through an empty filter/portafilter into the mug. That hot water will preheat everything. Then, you'll completely dry the filter/portafilter, and proceed with preparing and pulling your shot.
But, thank you for your review and your feedback. We do value customers' input. We'll definitely pass along your feedback to the appropriate people, as we are continuously trying to improve our customer's experience.

Wonderful Espresso machine. The milk froth/heater is fantastic. Wonderful instructions and just enough flexibility to truly customize your coffee. We love it.
Poor Starbucks, they will definitely see a dip in sales now.

Easy to use, great product. I'm a beginner and found this very beginner friendly and quality. My only gripe is sometimes the grounds get stuck on the top where the water comes out where the grounds meet the machine. Easy fix with a puck though.

Love love love it! My husband uses it probably 2 times everyday. He’s obsessed.

it took quite a few tries for a beginner like me trying to make my own expresso. The 1 and 2 settings both have to set separately instead of just pressing a button to set or to switch from one after the other.

After researching intro-level home espresso machines, I elected to buy the Breville Bambino Plus for its small footprint, feature set and generally positive reviews on a number of sites.
I have used the machine quite a few times now to make both espresso and lattes and am happy with its performance. The espresso produced by the machine out of the box, using the included pressurized filter basket, is reasonably good. The automated milk heater/frother works well, although I will experiment with manual use to see if I can customize to my preference. I plan to get an unpressurized filter basket and see how that will work with the Bambino Plus.
A number of reviews have mentioned difficulty engaging the portafilter into the group head, and the key to avoiding this problem seems to be preheating the group head by running a shot through it as suggested in the manual, after which the engagement is reasonably easy.

Tired of spending money at those coffee shops?? I was! Working from home with this made life easier. I have all the ingredients to vary with taste. This machine will make you feel like a “seasoned barista” in no time! Very easy to use right down to the maintenance of cleaning and descaling your machine.

This is by far the most expensive espresso I've purchased.
At the same time it very cool in the following,
I will keep track of the shots and tell you when to clean it
When it detects is not pulling the shot correctly due to calcification, it will also let you know.
I mean no big deal, but I've never seen that before.
It heats up in a second or two
Great tasting and consistent shots
You don't have to wait between shots, or between frother and shots, so if you are making coffee for the wife, it won't be cold by the time you finished both
The appliance itself is the highest quality I've ever had.
It put other brands to shame
