I also think for this particular model the heating tray so far has been useless for me.

We don't use it often, just to do few cups of coffee a day. Easy to maintain and operate. If planning to use it constantly, I think it would worth to pay extra and get yourself commercial one.

To get thr full use out of this machine, like any other machines, you need to have some knowledge on how to make espresso
