Get the protection plan!! When it is not broken and the grind setting and amount are correct and the pump gets the right amount of water, it makes great expresso! During the first 2 months you have a 60% - 70% chance of getting good expresso. My first unit broke after 4 months (pump quit working). Fortunately had the best buy protection plan and the store took it back and gave me a replacement off the shelf! The replacement (a brand new unit) lasted for 2 months before the pump and then the grinder broke. Tried working with the breville customer support who had me extensively disassemble the unit in an unsuccessful repair attempt. Back to Best Buy who, with this wonderful protection plan, promptly replaced it with a 3rd new unit from the shelf. I believe I have a 1-year protection plan and am just planning on having to swap it out at best buy every 2 or 3 months until they declare enough. At which point I will try a different company. This is my first experience with Breville and after what I expect to be 3 more replacement units, will be my last. I do wonder how the people who have left positive reviews feel 3 or 4 months later. I am using my machine twice a day on average.

It it a pleasure to make a coffee in the morning with this machine. It’s easy to use and takes almost no time to make a cup of cappuccino or late.

I have enjoied this unit since I got it. I do wish it had a way to notify you when the water gets low but this hasnt been that big of a deal. I have been able to pour great shots and enjoy espresso drinks.

After a month of purchase I think I can finally review my Breville. I purchased the Barista Express after months of research but it wasn’t the easiest machine to use in the beginning. I thought I had seen all the YouTube videos I needed to get the hang of it but it’s so much harder than anyone tells you. However now after much practice and additional $$$ spent I can finally say this machine is worth every penny . No more spending money at coffee shops when you got her in your kitchen counter.

Bought this to use at the office. There is a learning curve to get everything dialed in but once you get it spits out some darn good espresso! Office moral has significantly improved!

working good just watch a few YouTube videos and you will be set. the tamper could be better other than that love it. start your grind around 6 or 7 we got 2 different blends from the same company and 7 works for both but not all coffee will work out like this.

Easy to use and this was my first machine, so far it is going good and maintenance is also easy.
