It’s ok

Horrible espresso shots!

After two days of trying to dial in this Barista Pro, over 3 lbs. of beans (fresh), it has not pulled one good tasting shot. I’ve watched so many videos and read how-tos and I’m way beyond stressed and frustrated. The grinder is sub par and produces clumps so you will always need to get rid of them with a WDT tool. I understand this isn’t a top of the line machine, but after reading reviews, I took the chance. I will be going back to using my old machine that was half the price and pulls much better shots. This will be going back.

Breville Barista Pro

We encountered many problems even though we used it very little. The heating does not work while making coffee, sometimes it works as it pleases. Although we cleaned and maintained it, we were not satisfied.

Buy Elsewhere

I was informed AFTER THE FACT that the return. policy was 15 days not 30 days. Best Buy says they are no longer going to stand behind product they sell. No wonder they are one the verge of bankruptcy. They offered no solution, no repair option, no replacement option. This was not an inexpensive item $899.

It did take me a little bit to figure out how much coffee etc. One day, it just quit working. I only had the machine for 27 days when it quit working. I called Breville and am still waiting on my replacement, thus the 1*

Awesome

Easy to clean, large capacity water. My only wish is if the bean hopper held a full bag of beans. Other than that is is excellent and still rates 5 stars

Difficult to use for first time barista

I’ve tried watching videos on how to properly pull a shot and I can’t seem to get it. I wish I would’ve gotten something more user friendly because I can’t properly pull shots the “correct” way.

Hard to use

Great until pump problem with only 3 months of use

I think it is a pump issue, since I have tried several solutions without success. Furthermore, I will contact support.

Shockingly bad for the price

Especially when it comes to stainless steel 'you know where' is infamous for atrocious quality. The machine is tacky and has a small 54mm non-standard portafilter. You would think for the price they would use the right size accessories and also use fairly paid labor in the land of oz itself.

Broking all the time

The first one mill stopped working after 29 day. The second one the same problem exactly on 48th day. Machine is made in China. Stay away from it if you do not want the frustration.

Love a Latte!

However, if you’re someone who loves and appreciates good quality coffee, this is a great purchase. It’s important to note that if you’re going to use a quality machine, you should put in a quality product. The place to skimp is NOT on cheap espresso/coffee. I did try both just to see how they compared. Since the Breville works very well, even average espresso was pretty good. However, for a truly memorable cup, go the extra mile and buy some good espresso (you won’t even miss coffee house coffee if you do). Set up of the Breville was simple and I was up and running very quickly. Making espresso is not the same as brewing a regular cup of coffee. It takes some practice and finessing to get it just right so have some patience if things aren’t exactly what you expect right away. This is a very sleek espresso machine and it runs smoothly. If you’re looking to improve on your own coffee and save some money in the long run (versus going to a coffee shop every day), this is a great way to go!

One elaborated option for coffee connoisseurs
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.If you are a coffee lover and you see the added value in drinking something that prioritizes the quality over the quantity, the taste over the serving size this is de facto your alternative. You need to consider a couple of elements to do an educated purchase: 1.- This is not a fully automatic model but a semi-automatic. That means that some of the elements of your coffee: the coffee beans and water are already in the machine reservoirs. But your intervention in each preparation is required: deciding the right amount of ground coffee, pressing the coffee in the cup and dosing the coffee amount, inserting the portafilter in the machine, and then, pushing the button. 2.- You can not expect to be right at first, you can be drinking coffee for weeks until you find the right outcome. The amount of coffee, the manual pressure to the coffee with the tamper in the portafilter determines the pressure of steam traversing the ground coffee, and the final result. In my case this is great! Because I believe that there are so many tastes for coffee as people and trying until you have your taste is part of the game. 3.- Frosting your milk, it’s also a manual process that implies a work to be sure that you raise the cream with the steam delivered by the machine. 4.- No self-cleaning here. Once the coffee is done, cleaning the steam pipe and the portafilter needs to be manually done right the way to be ready for the second cup. For a coffee lover that the outcome is important, that the elaboration process is part of the liturgy, and preparing a coffee is also as significant as the drink itself this is a great option for you. Otherwise, you will waste your money because the time invested could be too long. Please consider that this machine is a piece of art!, so elegant and shiny that will make a difference in an elegant kitchen or on any of your shelves. If that is not important, other things that I love about the barista, all is included: a big water reservoir,a big coffee beans reservoir, four portafilters for all the options (one cup, two cups), cleaning tools, elegant tamper, water filter and first filter, the stainless steel milk jug, and finally, the coffee razor to be sure that you have the right dosage. I only found one issue with the milk frother, I wish that the steam is delivered as fast as I turn the nob, right now there are like 4 seconds of water delivered before the steam is served and that ruins the milk. Now, after a few intents, I left the water to run out before I approach the milk jug. If you are a sophisticated coffee drinker, this is a great option.
