Great coffee maker! It has both options so you can brew for just a cup or if you want to brew a pot, the pot by the way, keeps coffee warm for a pretty good while, I just replaced a keurig coffee maker, this is so much more versatile and absolutely love the fact that can brew a whole pot and have coffee ready for my whole work day at my home office, also the coffee has a crisp taste even if it has been on the pot for a while still keeps the fresh brewed taste and aroma! You can also brew cold coffee (haven't tried it, as not my taste, coffee should be hot!), but its an option. Also it has an option to brew you a "gold" certified coffee, I must say it will do the mechanic part (like brewing it slower or on a certain way), however, remember, the quality of the coffee grains you use, is essential! I have my own grinder, so I always have fresh ground coffee, so you should try that too!

We researched drip coffee makers for weeks and decided on this one, and we haven’t been disappointed! Coffee tastes great, easy to use, and coffee stays hot in carafe. I like this better than the similar version with glass carafe (and no replacement available for it currently if the glass broke). I haven’t tried the cold brew setting yet but will soon. A little expensive (we got it on sale and used some Best Buy certificates to offset the cost), but we had our last coffee pot for 13+ years so I’m hopeful this Breville lasts as long if not longer! It looks nice on our countertop too

Set up of the coffee pot was pretty easy. The coffee it brews is delicious, but the unit is pretty pricey. I really only use the gold standard brew, however, if you want to customize your coffee making settings that can be done. I have found 1scoop of coffee beans ground per cup makes the best tasting coffee! One problem is that if you btw small amounts(less than 4cups) you will want to warm up the carafe first. I typically make 12-16oz brews and it is the perfect temperature if I warm the carafe for a few minutes(just put hot water in it for a few).

The Precision Brewer has all of the features you need to make great coffee at home. You can keep it in the Gold Cup mode and brew a precisely balanced pot of coffee. That is, according to the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA). I decided to tinker with the settings to make a custom profile. You can change the water temperature, bloom time and flow rate to my liking. I got a high-quality coffee grinder so I can control almost every aspect of the coffee-making process. As a result, I can consistently make the best cups of coffee. The thermal carafe keeps coffee hot enough for at least an hour. I have had the unit for almost a year. I use filtered water, clean it regularly and descale every month. The coffee tastes just as good as it did on Day 1. From a coffee taste quality standpoint, the main competition for the Breville Precision Brewer is the Techinvorm Moccamaster. While the Technivorm is a more attractive unit which gives the user more control, there are no convenience features like Auto Start. For me, it was not worth losing those features to get arguably incrementally better coffee.

I would say if you're into finding your perfect cup of coffee this machine is perfect for you. My tastes don't agree with the SCA gold cup standard so I love that I can do a custom brew (temp, bloom, and flow). The machine itself is easy to use. I love the over ice setting. I will never go back to a hot plate - With the stainless steel carafe, the coffee always tastes fresh. Worth the money if really really love good coffee and want to tailor it to your taste.

This coffee maker makes great coffee. It adjusts to your personal preferences ((I like it strong) and it is very fast. I have yet to try the iced coffee or the cold brewed coffee features, but summer is coming and I look forward to enjoying those also. The carafe keeps the coffee hot for quite a while, which I enjoy. It is easy to clean. I am very happy with my purchase.

Our old coffee maker was dying out and decided to spring for this nicer one. It’s a simple a coffee machine and easy to clean. My biggest complaint is you can’t take the water container out to clean but other then that it does it’s job well. I’m not a super coffee snob so I can’t really tell you that it makes better coffee then a regular one. But it’s a lot better looking in my kitchen. Plus I love breville stuff...great quality kitchen gadgets!!

    Super-Premium Drip Coffeemaker

I purchased this after extensive research. It is one of only a handful of drip coffee makers offering a 12-cup thermal carafe (which keeps coffee hot for hours without scorching it). Ultra-customizable, from temperature, to bloom time, with options for 12-hr cold brew, brew over ice, “pour over,” and comes with adapter for both flat-bottom and cone filters. You definitely don’t have to utilize these options because it has pre-set modes for “fast-brew,” “strong brew” and “gold standard brew.” The machine is solid and the coffee is excellent. Definitely the top-of-the-line for a drip coffee maker. The cons: minor. The auto-brew feature works fine but is a little awkward to program. The water tank “fogs” with condensation and stays that way unless you leave the lid ajar. No water filter option, but most water filters on drip maker filters are sub par and still require use of filtered water for best quality coffee. Overall, extremely impressed with this machine, and look forward to years of great coffee.

This machine is for those who want to customize their coffee flavor profiles. In the "My Brew" setting, you can set bloom time, flow rate, and temperature ranging from 195 to 208 degrees F. This comes in handy when considering age of the beans, kind of bean, and the extraction you want to have. That all said, you can simply choose the "Gold" setting as a one stop setting for a delicious cup. It also comes as a "basket" and has a "cone" insert, so based on volume, you can adjust with the basket. The flat bottom comes with a filter, but you'll have to buy a filter for the cone. It's been great fun to try and tease out different flavors for the coffees that I've bought. Sometimes you want more "acid" and sometimes you want more "bitterness." You can get both by adjusting temperature and steep time, as well as grind, but that's not the feature for this machine. What's important is that you can reach optimal brewing temperatures for the brew cycle, which can do with this machine, but not others.

I wanted to order a new coffee maker to replace my Cuisinart machine. I did a lot of research and ended up ordering the Breville based on so many good reviews. I am glad I bought this one, it makes a really good cup of coffee and it is very easy to use and clean. I like the stainless steel material it looks very nice in my kitchen. The water tank is easy to fill and the coffee basket is big and easy to pour the coffee. You can change the settings to different coffee style. My favorite is the strong setting. I haven't tried the cold brew yet. You can program the night before to automatic start in the morning and works very well. The only downside is that there is some plastic inside the basket and in the lid for the carafe but it less plastic than most coffee makers. You can buy the Breville Pour Over Adapter for Precision Brewer to use with a pour over basket that is not plastic.

Love this machine. Makes great coffee, and oozes quality. Coffee stays very hot in the carafe. The only downside may be that it will not fit under standard kitchen cabinets, however I have mine on a coffee bar so it's not problem.

I’m actually very impressed with this coffee maker. I was super intimidated at first because it looked very space-gadgety. But it’s surprisingly straight forward. The coffee that it brews is absolutely high quality. My father gets up to brew it at the crack of dawn every morning, and it’s still fresh almost 4 hours later! It’s steaming, hot and doesn’t taste like it’s just been sitting there cooking. It tastes like you just made it. Super happy!!

My favorite coffee maker ever so far. Very, very sturdy and makes fantastic coffee--literally tastes better than anything our old $60 drip machine ever made. The well-insulated pot keeps it warm all day, too, without using additional energy to keep a hot plate running (which slowly turns coffee to sludge on other coffee makers). And I really love being able see and clean the water tank; plus it reminds you to descale every few months.

I had the Breville grind control before I purchased this coffee maker. The grind control is a good coffee maker, I gave it to a friend who loves it. The Precision Brewer is so much better. I love that you can do gold standard coffee, only a few coffee makers have that certification. The ability to do a pour over is a huge plus. There is a significant difference in the flavor profile. With all the customizations available on this coffee maker, it is very hard to make a bad cup of coffee. I still haven’t tried to make cold brew or ice coffee, but it is cool that this coffee maker has the option to do so.

I purchased this coffee maker for our office, and was blown away at the quality of coffee produced. We use single origin beans, with purified water vs. tap water. This is by far the best coffee maker I have found. The settings allow for different brews based on roast type.... that being said... it is not difficult to use. I have one at home as well, and my 5 year old helps me make coffee with this on the weekend. Well worth the investment if you enjoy quality coffee.

After breaking the carafe to our Cuisinart, the search for a new coffee maker started. We wanted something upgraded from what we had and researched and found this. It was a great deal! On sale for $203 at the time which was a steal compared to the other coffee makers we were finding at $300-400. We love it! The coffee has much more flavor using the Breville. We love all of the customization options and being able to make a single cup. This is a very sleek coffee maker that looks great in our kitchen. So happy we bought the Breville Precision Brewer!

Not only the best looking automatic drip coffee make out there, but makes the best coffee we've had ... for automatic drip of course. I bought this for it's beauty, versatility and because my travel mugs fit underneath. Turns out that it also makes fantastic coffee. The versatile controls allow you to make great tasting coffee, and really bad coffee. You'll have to learn what works for each type, but it's worth learning. I thought the control could improve a cup of coffee, but didn't know there was so much room for improvement. We coupled this with a grinder to really start enjoying different roasts. The world is such a bigger place now! It also makes wonderful iced coffee. It takes a little longer to set up and clean than what we were using before, but it's worth the little extra effort, well worth it. I look forward to every chance to make a cup or a pot now. Weekends are that much more fun as I don't have to face a day's worth of office K-cups. And the carafe keeps coffee piping hot for a long, long time, without continuous heating like is needed for glass carafes. The carafe pours smooth and drip free. Why has nobody ever made one that pours like this before? If you can afford the luxury price, it's well worth the money. It exceeded my high expectations.
