We have been very happy with this purchase. The microwave is quiet, powerful, and easy to operate. The soft close door is a nice-to-have feature that I never knew I needed. This is not the microwave that we went into the store to buy, but as soon as I saw it, I knew I had to have it. I expect to last far longer than the three cheaper microwaves I have had over the years.

I always used what I considered normal name brand microwaves. This microwave is a game changer. What I like the most is: Quiet operation, Large Display. Ability to set a Favorite cook time, especially when your in a hurry, getting ready for work. Option to have a beep tone or chime tone. Entire display turns amber color when cooking, turns white when done. Ability to set turntable off. Many other great features too numerous to mention. 1200 watts of cooking power. Definitely State of the Art Technology for todays demands. Easy to clean stainless interior/exterior. Easy to close door. Just an overall great product.

The Breville Smooth Wave microwave is intelligent cooking. It is a different way of microwaving for me and while I'm impressed with its Sensor IQ tech, I'm also tempted to go back to my old microwave because I'm familiar with it. So far everything with one exception has cooked well and even better than in my old microwave. The exception is popcorn. Using the Smart Sense popcorn setting has only one option for the size of a popcorn bag, 3.2 oz. My popcorn bags are 2.75 oz. Since it's smart sensing, I tried it to see if it adjusts to the difference. There was some overcooked popcorn when it was finished and just as many kernels left over as in my previous microwave that had a shorter timer for popcorn. I have reheated many leftover items including pizza and the results have been perfect. Some things I don't like about this microwave are: This microwave uses dials instead of push-button digits to set time and power. The menu on the screen is hard for my old eyes to read, the fast buttons inside the door are also too small for me to see without putting my eyeglasses on. I also miss having the time of day lit up on my microwave for a quick check of the time as I pass. I don't appreciate the handle on the door sticking out as far as it does. If I kept my microwave on the kitchen counter as many do, I don't think I would have any problem with it. However, I keep my microwave on a cart at the kitchen entry and the handle sticking out is something I worry may hurt someone eventually, possibly a visiting child. I would recommend this to anyone for the cooking technology as long as the design (dials, handles, buttons, display) works well for them.

It's a bit pricey, but I like Breville's other products so I thought I'd give it a try. The controls are familiar therefore, and it's easy to use. I heats and cooks well with little effort, and little adjustment to its "Smart Technology" settings. It's likely more money than most microwave users need to spend, but it's also about the aesthetics of Breville's products. It's all stainless steel, and it fits in well with my stainless kitchen.

I had to give a short lesson to the family to get started, but the panel is really pretty intuitive to use. We’ve had it for 7 weeks now, so here’s our take: -Soft close door is great! -Smart reheat works really well unless you overload the bowl or plate. -Smart defrost actually works. -Soften butter has prevented some disagreements in our house. I like this button. -The price is a little high. -The fan runs for just a little bit after the cycle ends to cool the inside, which is a good thing. I know some reviewers didn’t like it, but it allows you to use the microwave for several things in succession. -The clock does dim out after a little bit, but that’s not why I bought a microwave. Once you start selecting things or turning knobs, the panel lights up including the clock. This should prolong the life of the display and save power. -The interior is stainless steel and easy to clean. -I like the handle. That’s a personal item. Our old microwave had the push button. -The inverter function is great. Not all microwaves have it. It’s one of the reasons the unit works so well. -It’s looks very nice, which is good because it takes up a fair amount of counter space. -The beep volume can be adjusted or even muted, which is a nice feature that most microwaves do not have available. -The microwave is fairly quiet. Much quieter than our old unit. I would recommend this microwave, even with the high price. We took out an extended warranty, since some people noted problems mainly with the door. I don’t normally buy extended warranties, but it was fairly cheap. No regrets!

The Breville Smooth Wave is the best microwave we ever had. Has full stainless interior, all sorts of easy to use "smart buttons" that makes using it easy, works very well and is quiet, and a door that easily closes itself (last Panasonic we owned we had to slam the door close).

    Breville Microwave review

I was troubled when shopping for a new Microwave recently since so many of them had that 'fragile" push-button door opening latch. I have an engineering background and saw that breaking in the first few years of use rendering the unit useless. So I found the Breville model that actually had the same large handle that my old one did and assured me that I'd always be able open the door. Using it is easy and it performs well but I still have to read the manual to see how to make certain items effectively. If you put a regular size popcorn bag for 3 minutes it will only pop about 40 % of the kernels. If you formally set it for popcorn it will do well and even sense the exact size of the bag it needs to pop. So a good investment so far. You'll need to read over the manual to make the best use of this product.

Looking for a Microwave, that is simple to use? Then the Breville - 1.2 Cu. Ft. Microwave - Stainless steel microwave may be for you. The design of the microwave makes the kitchen look upgraded. Family members when visitng told me the Breville looks high end. They felt it made a nice addition to the kitchen. When opening and closing the door, you can barely hear the sound. Very nice! When opening the door, it features preset buttons for quick heating. Popcorn, pizza, melting butter to name a few. My family enjoys eating popcorn daily. So this button comes in handy. When making popcorn the cooking time was longer than anticipated. When the popcorn was no longer popping, I stopped the microwave and to my surprise, the kernels did not burn. When preparing burgers, the smart defrost button came in handy and the hamburger meat defrosted quite well. When cooking frozen veggies, the microwave was able to get the temperature at just the right temperature. Have cooked soups, warm drinks, and reheated leftovers. The chicken dinner I had the previous night when reheated tasted almost exactly the same! PROS: Side buttons allow for quick selection of commonly used items. Easy to clean! Looks expensive. Quiet and easy to close the door. Like that is has a sensor IQ. Has a fan that comes on to help assist in cooling the temperate of the microwave down. CONS: Unable to place items on top of the microwave. The microwave does get hot fast. Because of the rise in temperature of the microwave and it''s ability to cook, I would be cautious when operating around children. .

Lovely to look at, nice workmanship. Neat easy touch door and very quiet. Appears to be one of many Midea brands, almost identical to the GE and Sharp. It may cook better but I returned it for two reasons. You can not read the clock as it is black on black once it is in standby mode. Second the controls are ok but you need scroll or find preset numbers for time cook. I liked it my wife did not. Not really sure it is worth 250% more than another generic Midea brand. We ended up buying the GE which replaced our 12 year old GE.

Very quiet, soft closing door is a great feature. This microwave does need extra time for cooking, about 45 seconds more than a regular microwave would use. Heats very evenly

So far so good! Brought the extended warranty because I have kiddos at home. You can never be to careful with expensive things like this. Service at the store was terrible though. I needed help locating this item in the store no associates were around in the entire store. Finally after walking around Aimlessly I was able to find the isle myself. Lugged it to the register wasn’t even sure where the registers where apparently they moved everything in the store and the registers are on the other side. It was extremely annoying and confusing. To stand around and finally someone points out the fact that you’re standing there and that’s not the register area. The guy at the register was rude. Wasn’t polite or friendly what’s so ever. I’d probably never shop at this Best Buy again. Especially when buying high priced items you want to feel good about who you purchase it from. Lackluster shopping experience. Would explain why most sales now a days are via online through amazon. Don’t have to deal with rude employees.

This microwave is solidly built and feels durable. The soft-close door is a nice touch, and the menu is easy to figure out. What's cool is that you can adjust the power while your food is still cooking, which is a feature I've never had before. The reheating sensing functions work well, as long as you don't fully cover the items. Overall, it's a user-friendly microwave that gets the job done without any unnecessary frills.

Excellent. Very quiet, powerful, solidly built, beautiful to look at, and easy to use. Recommended, even though it is quite expensive. The less expensive Breville "Compact Wave" is just much too small inside.
