Customers highly value the Smooth Wave 1.2 Cu. Ft. Microwave for its ease of use, overall performance, and quiet, soft-close door. Many appreciate its perfect size, top-notch design, and well-thought-out controls, as well as the convenience of its heating capabilities. However, some customers find the price a bit high, and a few have expressed concerns about the clock not being illuminated and difficulties with the popcorn setting.

Simple to use. Great reheating feature…folks, use the proper reheating lid so the steam gets out. Works perfectly. Super quiet. Like to door feature but have to remind myself not to push it. Great size. Love it.

Somewhat bigger than the 10 year old one. Taller cavity. Power is adjustable. Buzzer volume can be adjusted or muted. Expensive but hopefully will last a long time.

So far so good! Brought the extended warranty because I have kiddos at home. You can never be to careful with expensive things like this. Service at the store was terrible though. I needed help locating this item in the store no associates were around in the entire store. Finally after walking around Aimlessly I was able to find the isle myself. Lugged it to the register wasn’t even sure where the registers where apparently they moved everything in the store and the registers are on the other side. It was extremely annoying and confusing. To stand around and finally someone points out the fact that you’re standing there and that’s not the register area. The guy at the register was rude. Wasn’t polite or friendly what’s so ever. I’d probably never shop at this Best Buy again. Especially when buying high priced items you want to feel good about who you purchase it from. Lackluster shopping experience. Would explain why most sales now a days are via online through amazon. Don’t have to deal with rude employees.

We love this microwave! It is the perfect size, appears very sturdy (but not bulky, heavy), sleek exterior design, and it's very easy to use. Everyone especially likes the soft close door. Definitely would recommend purchasing if you are looking for a microwave.

Excellent. Very quiet, powerful, solidly built, beautiful to look at, and easy to use. Recommended, even though it is quite expensive. The less expensive Breville "Compact Wave" is just much too small inside.

This microwave is solidly built and feels durable. The soft-close door is a nice touch, and the menu is easy to figure out. What's cool is that you can adjust the power while your food is still cooking, which is a feature I've never had before.
The reheating sensing functions work well, as long as you don't fully cover the items. Overall, it's a user-friendly microwave that gets the job done without any unnecessary frills.

Very quiet, soft closing door is a great feature. This microwave does need extra time for cooking, about 45 seconds more than a regular microwave would use. Heats very evenly

The best microwave we've owned.

This is by far the best microwave I've ever purchased. We wanted to replace our aging Panasonic with something better, but had a hard time finding anything we were drawn to. When we saw this one and its soft-close door feature, we were pretty much immediately sold on it. Not having to slam the door is really nice, though it was a bit odd getting used to pulling a handle to open rather than pushing a release popper button, as well as the dial to set the timer.
The additional features are also really nice. The smart reheat function is a blessing for cooking leftover pasta, and the pizza function works really well, too. Not perfect, but still better than a normal microwave could do, considering how fickle leftover pizza is. I've also used the soften butter feature, which is also nice.
Another very attractive feature is the ability to have a softer, melodic tone, and the microwave also runs very quietly in comparison to our old one. I've always hated the noise microwaves make (the door slamming, the beeping of each button you press, the loud whirring while it cooks, and the harsh beeping when it finished), so the quietness of this one is really appealing. You can even mute all the tones if you're cooking late at night and don't want to risk waking anyone up.
The blue-when-idle/amber-when-cooking screen makes it easy to read, as well as tell if your food is still cooking if you walk out of the kitchen and take a peek back in. I honestly cannot come up with a single complaint for this thing. It was a bit on the pricey side, but ultimately worth it to us.

So far the only complaint is the clock has no backlight after it’s done cooking and no independent timer.
It’s easy to clean and the controls are easy to use also really like the soft close door.

This microwave is full of great features not the least of which is a soft closing door. Good size with short cut buttons. It's easy to use but I was surprised that it doesn't seem to be as powerful as you would think. Most items you have to increase the recommended time in order to get the results you want. We came from a much smaller LG which had more power than this Breville.

We purchased with slight trepidation as we weren't familiar with the brand and it was the most expensive countertop microwave in stock.
All the reviews online were great and we had not been pleased with the last two GE or panasonic bargain units so we tried it.
It has been fantastic as it can be for a microwave! The dials and controls were a bit unorthodox at first but now everyone in the house loves it. Cooks /reheats far more evenly and consistently than before. No more part hot part cold food. The soft close door is also a nice touch.
Well built so we hope it has good durability.
