This is a great microwave--it's high-tech, but simple and intuitive to use. It has performed exactly as it should have on everything we've used it for so far, including reheating and defrosting using the sensor option. It reheats evenly and defrosts without cooking the edges. And my husband is fascinated by the soft-close door technology! :)

We are very happy so far with our Breville microwave. Compared to our old microwave…. It is much quieter and we love the soft close door. The old Panasonic microwave had an annoying loose side panel that rattled increasing its noise level. Our new Breville just seems to have quality as its main feature. Love it!,

The second best microwave oven I’ve ever had. Unfortunately, the microwave starts slowing down after about 2 to 3 years and you have to cook items longer.

I was needing a microwave for almost a year now, to replace my old one. The microwave I wanted to purchase wasn’t available and had been on back order 4 months, I decided to get a temporary one. After almost a year going by and waiting for the microwave I thought I wanted to become available, l finally broke down and decided to find or go with something else. After a long exhausting time of searching and comparing, I decided to go with a Brevilke model. Since the arrival and connection of my Breville Mictowave, I have been completely satisfied with it and all the features that come with it. I would recommend this product to anyone and wish I would of gotten it sooner than later!

I never thought there was much difference in microwaves until I bought this one. Everything about it is comfortable to use. Perfect size. Settings are easy to operate. I bought this for a family member who is very fussy, and this microwave was a homerun! Toshiba and Panasonic or returned. Well worth the extra money.

i LOVE ALL THE OPTIONS. COOKS GREAT. I ALSO LIKE THE LOOK AND THE FACT THAT IT DOESN'T PLAY A LONG SONG WHEN FINISHED. PERFECT SIZE SO THAT IT DOESN'T TAKE UP TOO MUCH SPACE. THE SOFT CLOSE DOOR IS AN AWESOME FEATURE FOR A FAMILY THAT TENDS TO SLAM DOORS.

We have had wonderful success with this microwave for its first two months. The smart features work well and the ability to defrost evenly without cooking is fantastic. For traditional settings, I much prefer turning the dials to using a keypad. The "a little more" feature works well, too. And having a handle to open the door is so much better than a finicky button. There have been a few pleasant surprises. Food splatters much less than in our prior microwaves. The "ding" was a bit loud even on the quietest setting (bedroom overhead) so we used mute and it's great to have an almost-silent microwave. The exhaust fans after cooking is complete mean we no longer have to let the door ajar for steam and odors to escape. Other than the beverage setting, the quick buttons inside the door haven't been of much use to us--they're just not for the things we usually cook. Bottom line: No clue on durability yet, but so far absolutely worth its more expensive price. PS: It looks nice, too.

I wasn't expecting to be impressed by a microwave oven. It's been the same overall design for years. This Breville is different. Someone took the time to think about how a microwave is used. No numeric keypad. Just 2 dials and a few buttons. It's so easy to use. Usually you just need to press one or two buttons. It's easy to turn the dial to adjust the time or the power. There are clever things like "A little more" button to get an extra 10 seconds. The display is easy to read. The backlight shifts to orange when it is heating. And the soft close door is a nice touch. Overall it's a pleasure to use.

    A space-age Jetson's microwave

Excellent countertop microwave. There are many presets available. However, the Smart Reheat is my favorite function. The Sensor IQ technology automatically senses what you're cooking, and then adjusts the power & time. Makes it super easy to reheat your food. The Smart Cook & Smart Defrost also turn out great. My second favorite function is the soft close door. Very fancy! And finally, my third favorite function is how QUIET the microwave works. This replaced a full-size Panasonic microwave that was relatively loud. Now I realize how much time I wasted standing guard over my old microwave, and how much noise pollution it created. This Breville really is a space-age Jetson's microwave bc it make makes everything easy & efficient. Food turns out evenly heated throughout. It looks classy, and even has the option to personalize the chime to sound pleasant.

We have been using this microwave for nearly two months now and it is great. It is really easy and intuitive to use. It has cooked everything we have thrown at it very evenly and exactly as we would expect. It has a lot of high end touches and features and looks great in our home! Very compact which is also very nice.

If you lie somewhere on the autistic spectrum (or care for someone who does) this microwave is for you. The door shuts without a loud clunk, the alert sounds are pleasant and non-jarring and operation is simple. This is also great for people who are visually impaired; the display and controls are big and well marked. I've had enough of appliances that have tiny difficult to see controls. As an engineer i can tell you that this is well designed and the build quality is excellent. For example, the cooling fan continues to run after the cycle is completed to lessen the thermal stress on the electronics. Smart! The only thing i could ask for (especially at this price point) would be network connectivity so it can work with voice commands through Amazon Alexa or Google home. My GE "smart" microwave with alexa totally sucked and died in less than a year. Hoping this one lasts a while.

    Moderate power microwave, poor longevity

In short, this microwave worked well for maybe two years, then the soft close functionality on the door started failing. After three years, the magnetron started failing, and now it's done. This is my third Breville product, and if history is a guide, it has typical Breville behavior - Great design, great features, horrendous longevity and reliability. For the price, I'd have expected it to last longer than it did, as for this price, I would buy two top-line LG microwaves, and they'd probably last longer than a cumulative 3-year period. Other notes: (1) Power is noticeably lower than my last microwave, so food takes longer to heat up when on full power. (2) Soft close functionality is AMAZING! When it works (3) You can adjust the volume of the beeper, and even turn it off. (4) 30-second increment button is great, and much better than 1 minute increment button. (5) Knob works okay to adjust time. Sometimes it does feel like a keypad would have been better. (6) Clock display is hard to read in low lighting because it does not glow in the dark.

I love the door. I know that seems small, but it's quiet and feels solid. My wife doesn't like the fact that there's no keyboard to punch in numbers, but it's so easy to add time with the dials and buttons. And the Smart Cook/ Reheat features take the guesswork out of how long to cook - so there's no real need for a keyboard.
