I love the door. I know that seems small, but it's quiet and feels solid. My wife doesn't like the fact that there's no keyboard to punch in numbers, but it's so easy to add time with the dials and buttons. And the Smart Cook/ Reheat features take the guesswork out of how long to cook - so there's no real need for a keyboard.

We love this microwave, the soft close door the options on options. It heats well, it defrosts well, it does all well. We bought this a montage so its been a little while and its great. Will update this in a few months

Great quality microwave. I like its smaller profile as it takes up less room on our counter. Great for a small kitchen.

Not only is this nice looking and compact (lots of room inside but doesn’t take up too much outside), but all of the smart cooking options make every reheat and cooking option a no-brainer. It’s powerful and cooks fast and thoroughly. Best microwave I’ve ever owned, hands down!

In short, this microwave worked well for maybe two years, then the soft close functionality on the door started failing. After three years, the magnetron started failing, and now it's done. This is my third Breville product, and if history is a guide, it has typical Breville behavior - Great design, great features, horrendous longevity and reliability. For the price, I'd have expected it to last longer than it did, as for this price, I would buy two top-line LG microwaves, and they'd probably last longer than a cumulative 3-year period. Other notes: (1) Power is noticeably lower than my last microwave, so food takes longer to heat up when on full power. (2) Soft close functionality is AMAZING! When it works (3) You can adjust the volume of the beeper, and even turn it off. (4) 30-second increment button is great, and much better than 1 minute increment button. (5) Knob works okay to adjust time. Sometimes it does feel like a keypad would have been better. (6) Clock display is hard to read in low lighting because it does not glow in the dark.

Needed a microwave in a hurry. Did some hurry up research, and chose this model for various reasons but primarily for the way the door opens. Don't like push buttons. Love the way the knobs work, and the smart sensor works great. Worth the money for an item that is so essential to daily life. Very pleased. Lots of things I haven't tried yet.

This microwave uses technology to be quieter than most others. And it really works. It's super quiet when it's heating up food, quieter than any other microwave ive seen or used before. It's powerful too and easy to use, with a nice clean interface. Overall, fantastic microwave.

who knew that a microwave could be THAT much better than others....so nice looking, solid, quiet and effective

I use to think that a Microwave oven was a microwave oven - how much more could it really do? But the Breville Smooth Wave is unlike any I have ever used before - it really dose amazing things. It can soften butter - yes - soften... not melt. It can cook bacon - you simply select the number of slices. It can do a sensor reheat - and this is really amazing. And a whole lot of other things that go way beyond simply changing how much time and at what power level. The oddest thing is that it keeps the fan going as a way to help cool down after use - but this is hardly an issue to complain over. Truly amazed at how well it work and what we can do with it that we never tried to do in the past.

The second best microwave oven I’ve ever had. Unfortunately, the microwave starts slowing down after about 2 to 3 years and you have to cook items longer.

This is an excellent microwave. The reviews that raved about the 'Smart Reheat' knowing the perfect temperature every time is true! We used to use trial and error to reheat everything on our old unit. Since the largest amount of usage is reheating, this is the perfect microwave. The only complaint is that the fan continues to run after the heating is complete.

Love this microwave. Perfect size to keep in my pantry an off the kitchen counter. I’ve had built ins for a while, but with double wall ovens, I needed a different microwave solution. Works great and love the soft close.

Love the soft close door. Took a little getting used to. Runs nice and quiet. The fan runs a while after it shuts off similar to our convection oven.

Have various countertop microwaves before from Panasonic, Sharp and GE. Breville Smooth Wave is the best so far. It is much quieter than any of the previous ones and the soft door close eliminates the long banging. I really like that it has a handle as it eliminates fingerprints that always bugged me. The ready chime is a pleasant alternative to the microwave beeping that other manufacturers have. The sensor cooking is a dream. The price is higher than other brands with the same cft but you get what you pay for. This is the Tesla of microwaves.

Nice microwave to replace older unit. Size of cabinet was a restricting factor and this unit was perfect with lots of great features. Not sure about the "self-closing" door though. Rarely use this feature.
