Powerful, quiet. Either the door is binding a bit, or that’s the way the soft close function works. Have only used it a few times in the garage while our kitchen renovation completes.

The microwave is pleasing to the eye but falls a bit short for the price tag. After a little over a year, the soft close door stop shutting by itself. The microwave has never been able to pop popcorn without leaving unpopped kernels and burning the rest . The reheat button will reheat your food until it’s so hot and overcooked that you don’t want to eat it anymore. I probably won’t would’ve purchased a different microwave with a cheaper price tag if I would’ve known of the issues later on.

PROs- Nice looking. Lots of features CONs- None of the ‘Smart IQ’ features work well. Popcorn feature leaves 100 or more kernels un-popped. Smart defrost takes several times to thaw, smart reheat takes three iterations to warm food to eating temperature. My $80 GE Microwave sensor features work significantly better. Clock can’t be read when oven is not running as the digits are black and the background is nearly black. I would love to return this item.

A great microwave with multiple function. Quiet and like the fact it makes a quite ‘ding” when done instead of the annoying beeping of other microwaves. The soft closing door is a nice feature. Another great item from Breville to add to the collection.

Great design and even better performance. Cooks evenly and quickly. I love all the little built in features(like sensor cooking that you input what you are cooking and it senses when it is finished cooking) that save time and guessing. The soft close door is another plus, if your hands are full when taking out food out of the microwave you can use your elbow to close and it slowly closes. Worth the extra money for sure!

Love how user friendly this microwave is and the screen that clearly lists what function you are using. For the cost I expected a bit more.... the clock is not backlit and you can barely read the time... the popcorn function DOES NOT WORK WELL AT ALL, and only pops a partial bag. We have even tried manual time for the popcorn, and it only pops a partial bag. Our old microwave was a cheap model and worked perfectly for popcorn ... and lasted many, many years. Overall we love the unit, but these are real let downs on this unit. Not so sure it’s worth the costly price tag.

The soft close door feature is really nice. The smart reheat feature works good as long as all of the food is evenly spread out. The smart cook features that I have used so far work well.

The Smooth Wave is without a doubt the best microwave I’ve ever used - everything from the way it cooks to the little touches Breville has added to make it easy and pleasant to use. Once you get used to the soft close door you’ll be gently closing every microwave door, only to see the door bounce back while you sit there scratching your head for a second. Speaking of cooking, I’ve noticed that the magnetron is able to operate at a set power level unlike other microwaves where you reduce the power and it operates in a “100% on/100% off” sort of cycle. This is brilliant for leftovers or really anything you’re reheating. Cheese? Melty. Egg? McMuffin style. Leftovers? Better than the first time. It will truly make you want to microwave everything. Lastly, I can’t end the review before mentioning the smart reheat function… it’s usually spot on! Occasionally you’ll have some areas that get a little hotter, but nothing so far has had that strange “microwaved” quality. Overall, this microwave has earned a place on our counter and in our hearts!

We needed a small under counter microwave. This one is great. Looks impressive and works wonderfully. We don't use it but for reheating and defrosting. I like that our plates fit in. Some small ones I understand thats a problem. The preset buttons that are hidden till you open the door are very handy. Soft close door is a nice feature.

Not to forget the sounds of quality when you close the door. It quietly closes. Quality in every way. Top of the line!

Quiet running, attractive lines, soft close, many cooking options.

Well worth the money spent, food is always heated through (no more cold spots) and the butter softening and chocolate melting settings are great
