Very nice automatic document feed scanner, with a small footprint which should make it more portable. So far have scanned some documents and also many of my mother's old Christmas cards (dual-sided scan) because I wanted to save the comments from loved ones. Did not scan cards with glitter! Interface is easy. After scanning can delete or rotate the images before saving, and can add other pages to the group before saving, as well. So far, very happy,

This is a great portable scanner. It is very compact and gets the job done fast!

I was having issues everytime I wanted to scan something with my multipurpose printer and felt it was time to get a dedicated scanner. After a lot of online searching I came across this one and I'm glad I did, the scan speeds are very fast and being able to scan something without the need to be connected to a laptop or PC makes it super convenient, it doesn't hurt that it scans at super high resolutions at a very fast speed. I would highly recommend this to anyone.

After reading reviews I thought for the price this would work great for preserving family photos and other items. I have no complaints at this time. You do have to watch if you have several items to be sent through that it will mess up on the last one. I just cut back on how many to go through and no major issues. I have several albums needing to work on and should not take long at all.

If you are looking for a fast, portable, accurate duplex scanner, consider this Brother ADS-1700W. It weighs little, and measures a mere 11 3/4" wide, 3 1/4" high, and 4" deep when folded up. I purchased this scanner about 2 months ago and so far I have used it to scan the contents of 10 full 3-inch wide 3-ring binders. Some documents were in color, most in Black and White, some single page and some duplexed. It's a serious workhorse! Granted, it will only scan documents that are up to about 8 3/4"" wide, but they can be pretty long ones (a long cash register receipt, for example). It does require an application on your computer and an external power source (a "wall wart"), but it will operate either on WiFi or via a USB cable (not supplied). I use a cable, since I don't always have WiFi handy where I am. The scanner will handle both sides of a document in one fast pass (around 2 seconds per 8.5x11" page, in my estimation), converting in color or B/W to PDF (or PDF/A, JPEG, TIFF, PNG, Bitmap, Text, and RTF). Yes, the documents I have scanned to "Text" files are editable. I use PDF files to my PC, and it's a practically instantaneous transfer. It has a 20-page document feeder. When scanning old paper, it will sometimes double-feed. I own both a Canon multifunction laser printer and a Samsung multifunction laser printer, and this Brother scanner puts them both to shame. This was a great purchase for me, and I highly recommend it.

Great compact scanner. I bought this specifically for the ability to scan directly to USB. So far, it works as advertised. I recommend buying the special Brother Carrier Sheets for odd or fragile scanning (such as frayed papers or pictures). The size is perfect. If needed, this can be put in a large computer bag for travel.

Brother products have always impressed me and this compact scanner is great, too. I particularly like being able to scan duplex documents to a jump drive with the LCD panel, without connection to a computer. Best Buy delivered just as quickly as monopolistic Amazon, at the same price.

At first, I thought I’d made a mistake with this purchase. Takes some getting use to and there is no tray to take the auto-feed scans, but that would take away from the portability. Starting to get comfortable with software and portability is great.
