Item description should say black, cyan, yellow and magenta, not just black. There are 4 drum units in the box.

The Brother original equipment Drum Units work as they should-like new units. They're easy to remove and install. The only problem was ordering them online due to some confusion as to whether or not you are ordering one drum unit or the whole set. You are buying all four drum units, not one black unit as the product display shows.

So the downside to the Brother 3170 printer is that everything but the shell is a consumable that needs replacing. I'd say look around. Best Buy came in with a next to lowest price in my online search for replacement drums. What sealed the deal is that I know Best Buy. The other lower priced vendor? Not so much. The drums, btw, is a kit (heh, drum kit!) that consists of all 4 replacement drums. It's a pain to have to swap out drums as well as separate toner carts. But all for for 100 something bucks is less painful than what I was thinking (140/drum).

I bought the drum kit (4 included drums) to replace my aging drums on my Brother MFC-9130CW printer. I took only 10 minutes to change all of them and get my printer back online. Print quality was perfect! No streaks or smearing. Best Buy had the best overall price in my area and excellent technical support!

Considering the toner cartridges only last about 5000 pages and cost $79 each and the drum only lasts 15000 pages this is an expensive printer to operate for a small business.

Easy to install, affordable price. Not something you will really need to replace but every few years.

I purchased this product because my printer showed that it needed to be replaced soon. It also prompted me to replace the belt. I replaced both, yet the printer continues to prompt me to replace them. This was the second time in 4 years that I replaced the drum I have always used genuine Brother parts, but I'm concerned as to why it still prompts me to replace them. It still seems to work well, but the messages are disconcerting.

Install the items and they worked great, and they where very easy to install

Make sure and change the drum. This is an easy install

It works as advertised. I just didn't realize this was a thing I needed to buy for a laser printer. It was an unexpected expense.

the other brother consumables seem to get used up very fast. this will extend the production time

We got Brother's Drum from bestbuy for my printer which fit perfectly and works great, no problem at all.

This comes with four drums, not one, so don't order additional ones.
