My experience with this printer has been the same as other reviewers. I would have bought the cheaper model that doesn't have wireless but it was sold out at the time. It prints extremely fast no matter the file format even the demo toner cartridge that came with it lasted a long time. The only downfall is the wireless. We have yet to get it to connect to anything. Bottom line: if you want a fast low cost printer this works great. If wireless is important look somewhere else. Also, buy replacement toner on a different website. Starts with A, ends in zon. Super cheap.

As a graduate student, I print a lot of essay drafts and outlines, and this printer is great for that. The quality is great, it doesn't use a lot of ink, and it's super fast!
The WiFi option is easy to use and set up. Make sure when you are setting up the printer that you connect both the printer itself and your computer to the printer to properly setup the WiFi. This was a little confusing at first--I highly suggest going to the Brother website and follow their instructions (not the ones that come with it) to clear up any confusion.
Overall--great printer!

This is the first laser printer that I've owned. I recently started doing an increased amount of printing at home and a friend recommended getting a laser printer over an ink jet printer. I'm glad he did. The quality is the same every time, the speed is quick, and the number of pages per cartridge is so much more than an ink jet. The setup is simple if you use WPS on your router or if you plug it into your router. Setup over wireless is bit more work, but once it's done, it too works well.

Previously, I had a Canon ink jet printer to print out my essays for classes. My papers on average, were about 5-6 pages long. The ink lasted me no more than 6 months so I thought it was time to upgrade. I did a little research online for best printers for students and came across this one. I did notice that some of the office places I've been to had this same printer. When purchasing this printer, I learned the difference between ink jet and laser jet. I am now an owner of this one. It's EASY to hook up. EASY to print. It's so simple. I really like this printer for the price that I purchased. It was $119.99 in stores but got it price matched to their online price of $99.99. Every time it prints, it has this distinct smell to it. The papers come out much faster than what my Canon did. If you're looking for something to print essays/articles out for a cheap price, I would totally recommend this product!

First of all, do not expect an easy installation. On an Apple, do not use the CD supplied. On Windows XP, sometimes just does not work even after installed. Had to search the internet for a driver for my Windows 7 laptop. The printer sleeps or deep sleeps so there is really no on and off button. That can be frustrating if you are used to turning one on and off. Does not scan. But when it wakes, it is fast and efficient and very cheap to use. Holds a lot of paper. Can print two sided to save paper.

Have had the unit for a bit now. Printing is quick and quality is good. However this is from my desktop computer. My Laptops cannot connect and have been in touch with Brother to figure out how to correct. Now know that the unit is designed to print either wired or wirelessly, not both.
