    PRINTER WILL NOT RECEIVE JOBS

    I have downloaded, re-downloaded, updated, troubleshot, turned deep sleep off, and still CANNOT get it to receive jobs. I have to physically turn it off and back on EVERY TIME I have to print somehting. I have emailed Brother as well and no response from them. I will not be purchasing another computer from brother.

    Great B/W for the price

    I wanted a simple black and white printer for printing out car manuals because I didn't want to go the route of using a tablet as I like to write notes on the paper and then scan back into the manual so its specific to my project car. I've printed over 200 sheets on my first set of ink cartridges and haven't seen any decline in quality.

    This unit replaced an HP laser printer whose toner cartridges exceeded the cost of the new Brother unit. Easy to set up, space efficient design, excellent print quality. Added bonus is that it will print on both sides of a sheet of paper and is Apple Air Print capable. No longer do we need a separate printer for documents printed from Apple mobile devices or tablets.

    It's a laser printer for $80, a small price to pay to get away from ink scams. It only prints in black and white, but how often does anyone print in color? My only problem, so far, is that it disconnects from my network as soon as I unplug it, meaning I have to go though the easy but long driver installation all over again.

    I was just looking for a basic no-frills, low-cost laserjet printer. The printer was easy to set up using USB. Prints quicker than I thought it would from a low-end model. The lights and function buttons are on top which is impossible to see where I have it positioned on top of a rolltop desk. There is no LCD for user feedback, but okay at this price point.

    Print quality and speed is solid. Set-up for network printing required me to use the Brother set-up disk which installed software on my computer that now sends me constant notices to check for updates. That's totally unacceptable for any application but especially unacceptable for a printer.

    Got this with a $40-off sale and it is definitely worth the money. The features built in for wireless printing and setup is really easy. When compared to other ones I decided that this was the best choice due to its size and capacity as well as its great sale price. I recommend this to anyone who is looking into replacing an old inkjet printer but does not want or need to print using color.

    The sleep timer is impossible to disable. This printer was purchased for use in an office with technically challenged workers who cannot override the sleep timer. It constantly stalls with jobs backed up because the sleep timer has been activated. Turning off eco mode does not help

    No high yield cartridge

    I bought this printer because it states that it comes with an extra high yield cartridge. It does not or it wasn't in my box. Now in order to buy a high yield cartridge: I for one have to wait for shipping or go pick one up. The cartridge cost is comparable to a brand new printer. Very dissatisfied

    We have several Brother laser printers in our office and all have been in service for several years. When the one in our machine shop finally stopped working after being used and abused by our machinists in a nasty environment for 7 years, I naturally replaced it with another. Toner cost is relatively low as well, so it's a win-win.

    We finally had to bite the bullet and upgrade our printer to work with a modern OS. This printer was seamless to set up right out of the box and has continued to be easy to get new devices connected wirelessly. With its single large cartridge it hasn't needed replacing yet, but if it did, that is an easy process as well.

    Had the printer for 3 months and it's prompting me to replace ink toner. There's a page counter on the printer so I checked...455 pages and it needs ink?! Printing is very light in color too. Have an HP p1102w and now wish I'd have bought another one of those.

    The printing is perfect, fast, and no problems sending jobs to the queue. My con is that when the printer falls into deep sleep, it will have trouble waking up and I would have to unplug and replug to get it working. First brother's printer I have had an issue with. Not enough for me to return but still an irk.

    I came in wanting the model that came out before this but Best Buy was out of stock. I looked over a few brands and just decided to get the current model. It took a little time to set up but the instructions were easy to follow. For someone who doesn't print much (a few pages a month) it was a good purchase.

    hard to figure how to set duplex mode as default

    I always have to check what mode the printer will printing in because I do not understand how to set the default mode for printing. They should have a video or give an example of this in their manul. The printer so far has been working OK. When I click on default it does not go to duplex printing. ( Both sides)

    This was a really great printer for double sided printing. I had no problems getting the wifi connected. It was an easy set up and very quick. It is able to print quickly and will go to sleep mode when not in use. I would recommend this for document printing. Printer has large tray to store blank paper.

    These are great printers, not just great for the money, they are great PERIOD! I've been using these for years in our service department ... its dirty, dusty environment and they just keep chugging along. I have some that are 5-6 years old and they just keep running. I even use 3rd party toner and drum units to help control costs.

    This printer was very easy to set up for wireless use, seems to be a good solid choice. I haven't had to replace the original cartridge. Two-sided printing works well, a time or two have seen a couple of little ink spots on the page where they shouldn't be, but that didn't persist. Price was good, I'm pleased with this purchase.

    Bought the Brother laser printer for my wife who previously had one that there were no ink cartridges available for any more. This one is much faster and does an excellent job. Very reasonable. For black and white printing at home on an occasional basis I would highly recommend this item.

    Bought the crap a month ago. All of a sudden the printing was very light. Talked with the manufacturer due to Best Buy saying that I had only 15 days from purchase to return (DUMB). They said it was the toner. Went an bought a new toner. Same bull crap. I will NEVER buy a Brother and definitely will not buy from Best Buy again!!!!!
