I explained to the service agent that I wanted a simple version of printer, I would only be using it for a few printed sheets daily, no bells and whistles desired. The Brother printer is exactly what I wanted and received ....inexpensive, simple to use, good quality.

I purchased this printer for general home-office printing; it was a replacement for an HP inkjet that failed after a few years of service. Setup for this printer is very straight forward, easy to setup and configure wireless, and all PCs in my office connected without issue. Print speed is good for this price point - it's exactly what I expected. I've provided a poor rating for the amount of troubleshooting required to clean the black stripes on each page. I expect technology to work properly - right out of the box. I spent a little more than 30 minutes viewing youTube videos and cleaning a new machine. Wasted about 70 pages of 28 LB Paper (no I didn't have other paper available and didn't have time for a trip to the store - I needed to print) to resolve the black vertical lines. The toner cartridge monitoring appears to work well; I was able to watch the toner levels reduce as black-lined pages continued printing. I've resolved the black line issues, and print quality is great. Unfortunately, I'm not looking forward to the next toner change which may result in the same issues. The total cost for wasted paper and toner was less than $5; the 30 minutes of wasted time, frustration, and buyers remorse were far more costly than the cost of materials. At this price point, if your willing to weather some inconvenience and have time to service a machine, I'd recommend this. If this machine delivers consistently in the future, I'll start to trust it for my business. Else, just another printer on the trash heap.

good printer, bad billing. I like the printer but it is not an unbox and plug and play. Had to get someone to hook it up. Ordered the special printer/cartridge deal and billed me separatedly for each(pricing was OK, but since it was a company card, it was difficult to reconsile).

Easy to set up but took a little time to set up the connection wirelessly. Prints relatively quickly. Great value for the price

Had this almost 2 years now. Couldn't be happier. Never a jam, never lost wifi connection. It's laser quality is perfect. Brothers is very popular in commercial office equipment. For a reason.

Affordable printer purchased for a college student. Easy to use, crisp back and white output. Of course, bear in mind that, as with all printers, the toner replacement cartridge will actually cost more than the printer itself, especially when the printer is as inexpensive as this one.

Most of my hard copy backup is black and white. Fast, cost effective printer addresses this need.

The printer works well. The only negative is that it is only black and white. Copies look good, no problems and not too pricy.

Great printer, easy to setup and use. Especially like the wireless ability. Duplex feature really comes in handy when printing study materials. The laser ink refill cartridges are reasonably priced and easy to find.

This unit replaced an HP unit that served well for many years. There was one unexpected trade off: the Brother added Ethernet connectivity that was very welcome, but lacks ability to insert more than one sheet (or envelope) at a time into the secondary feed slot, which is a feature I used frequently on the HP. Another "compensatory" feature is the ability to print both sides of a sheet without reinserting.
