Replaced my aging Brother HL 1440 and an antique Canon scanner with this HL-L2380DW reclaiming long lost desk space in the process. Wireless and two sided printing are a revelation :-) Setup was a breeze with an iMac. It also works fine with our various iDevices. Print quality and the print speed are very good. It is a little loud when starting a print job. Very pleased with the unit overall for home use. Great value for the price!

    So much better than HP

I highly recommend Brother printers. I have been thru several HP printers and have had a multitude of problems. The hardware seems good enough but HP's software is junk. My last office jet was $300+ and would consistently lose WIFI connection even though it said it was connected. So every time I went to print something I had to reset the WIFI connection. So I finally switched brands and will never buy another HP. This cheap Brother printer has effortlessly done it's job every time I have needed it. Zero problems setting it up and zero problems since. I press print from any device in my home and it prints. It's also very fast. I have also used the scan and copy features without issue and they work simply and exactly as expected. Highly recommended. If you're shopping for a printer, do yourself a favor and don't buy an HP.

Great printer for the price. Had all of what I needed and none of what I didn't need. Sick of ink jets and went back to laser, good copier/scanner and love the wifi. Warms up pretty quick and prints fast with the duplexes too. Didn't need fax and that kept price lower too. The single sheet feed door feels kind of flimsy but the rest seems good.

I originally bought this for the low price, and had had good results with Brother printers in the past. It's turned out to be a great investment because it prints two-sided, prints quickly and the quality is outstanding. Haven't had a single paper jam or any other problems with it. Easy to set up on my wireless network.

As soon as I started to use the HL-L2380DW,I took to the streets to tell everyone how happy I was. ! I've told all my friends, equally frustrated by home and office printers, to hurry and get this printer. Most of us just assume a home printer will be inadequate and unreliable. It's the first time I've used a lightweight (only in pounds, that is), simple-to-operate, absolute trooper of a home printer. I was so happy the HL-L2380DW was hand-picked by a technician for Naam Yoga New York where I work. I got a chance to try it first-hand for almost 3 months. It is easy to set up and operate, and we get so much life from a single ink cartridge (including the start-up demo cartridge) - we print hundreds of 2-sided schedules daily. I didn't think twice before ordering another one for my home. In eight months, the WiFi connection dropped once at the studio where there are many users playing with settings (hitting anything and everything to operate the machine), but it was so easy to reset. Scanning is an absolute joy. Just be sure to download the BROTHER scanning app and not the generic Windows scanning app. You probably won't need to use the disk to set the printer up (I haven't needed it in either location) - so you may want to wait before you buy an external disk-drive if you are a tablet or small-device user. The BROTHER HL-L2380DW engaged very easily and quickly with both Wifi's and laptops. At home, it fits easily into my 18-inch deep normal kitchen cupboard - with 2 inches space left in front and behind. My decision to buy my BROTHER and dump a nearly-new "name" printer (obviously not a BROTHER!) was a completely cost-effective move - for my sanity and my wallet. I'm happy to say, I even got to recommend HL-L2380DW on Amazon where I reviewed my OTHER "reputable" printer (it had printed a total of two pages before it became a complete headache). My review said, "if anyone is considering the OTHER brand, buy a BROTHER HL-L2380DW instead! Who knew my mother was so wise when she told me, "Always remember how precious your BROTHER is!"

In the couple of months that we've owned the printer it has been steady and reliable. The printing is fast, the wireless connected easily and has worked flawlessly. Scanning is done easily and the file sizes are reasonable. Only improvement I would ask for is that the scanning could be a touch faster.

I don't do a lot of printing and don't need to print in color, so this basic all-in-one printer from Brother fills my needs. Text print quality is quite good but I haven't tried any graphics yet. The controls are nicely arranged in a touch-type window and are so intuitive that the basic user guide is hardly needed after a quick read. I've had no problems at all with the machine, but haven't had it long enough to speak to it's' reliability, although Brother printers have a good reputation. Best of all was the promotional sale on Brother products, enabling me to order it for $100. My only complaint is that the complete users guide available on their website requires a web browser with a java plug-in to access it. Java is not very secure, and I won't have it in any of my web browsers. Brother needs to make their website more secure (perhaps rewriting it in HTML5) , hence only 4 stars.

Great functionality for a wireless laser printer

You get great functionality for a wireless laser printer under $100. Some of the highlights: * Great price * Fairly straight forward setup * Duplex printing (2-sided printing) - set this as your printer default to save on paper * Light print option to save on toner * Scanning from client computer to local disk is a snap (or to email or cloud) * Large paper tray * If you get the toner cartridge (TN630) rated at 1300 pages for $30.00 and a ream of paper (500) for around $5, your per-page costs are 4 to 5 cents per page - pretty hard to beat * And a lot more, check out the specs on line

I am a published author and needed a reliable printer, having purchased an HP in June 2015 that died in September after only printing 453 pages. No support from HP. Brother has a good rep. this printer is a little noisy, but does the job. Easy to set up wired or wireless. Looking for a reliable workhorse, buy this printer.

Bought this to replace old HP LJ1200. Put in the CD and then plugged in the USB and Viola! it worked flawlessly. The print is much crisper than the HP and by using generic TN660 toner cartridges page cost will be under 1 cent per page. It is nice to have the toner and drum separate to also keep costs down. My wireless access was down when I installed it but it looks to work the same as the inkjet I have and that works perfectly.

I love this laser printer. It's relatively compact for being a laser printer/copy/scanner. The instructions were kind of useless as far as connecting it to Google Print and the wireless network. I just fumbled around the menus on the printer itself until I was able to enter my login credentials and wa-la! It worked! Now I can print wirelessly (is that a word) on my Chromebook and Android phone. You also have to download an app to your phone if you want to print from it, no problem there. It prints and scans wonderfully, now I can get some work done. It didn't come with the cable to connect it to a computer. But I didn't need to do that, so no biggie.

After spending for ink for another brand and having it refuse to print, I wanted a laser printer that was well reviewed and could scan, copy and print As with previous Best Buy purchases, I was well briefed by the sales rep about which brands – excluding the well-knwn maker of the problem iinkjet printer – are popular, which models fit my specs. This Brother 3-in-1 met them best and has exceeded all expectations. It's sale price sweetened the deal more.

I was looking for a basic b/w laser printer because I wanted to avoid the frequent ink cartridge replacement I was experiencing with inkjets. My family uses multiple computers,(laptops and a single desktop). I wanted to be able to share a single printer. Most printers now offer wireless connection but that meant I couldn't use the desktop,(it is "hardwired" to the router). The Brother 2380 has an ethernet connection which which allowed me to connect it to our router and make it a network printer. Once I went thru the set up procedure the printer was easily recognized as available by the Windows 7 desktop and two windows 8 laptops. The Mac computer did not recognize/find the printer immediately. I had to go into settings and set it up manually as well as set the proper driver. The Mac also had a harder time accepting the printer as the default printer; but its all good now. All laptops print remotely at a moments notice. The printer goes into standby mode after use and wakes instantly when needed. I have not tried the scanning function yet. Copier is fine. My only quibble is the "Home" light slowly blinks continuously when in standby mode-makes me wonder about power consumption and display longevity.
