Great value for laser with print, copy, & scan

My old ink jet printer used up $50 worth of color cartridges even though I wasn't printing in color and I had to clean and align the heads every time I wanted a quality copy. So when this laser went on sale for less than $100 I jumped at the opportunity. The print quality is great and the set up was easy. It just prints in black and white, but it copies and scans and prints 2 sided. Just what I needed for choir music and HOA reports. If you don't need self-feeding features or large numbers of prints, this is a great buy. It does what it is advertised to do.

I bought this printer to replace my older model Brother printer and I love it! It is fast and quiet and shuts off right after printing. Is easy to use and I love that it has a scanner/copier. Is a great product for the money. I’m happy I bought another Brother model.

I just purchased this Brother Laser Printer and have to comment on the ease of setup as well as quality black and white printing. The printer connected to my WiFi without an issue. The scanner and copier work great! It seems to be well worth the $ spent!

I replaced a HP all in one expensive printer that died after 1-2 years with this one. I have an old Brother (probably 10 years old) that is still chugging along so I decided to stay with Brother. It works great. A little louder and a little slower but very competent for my needs. A plus for me is it turns itself off (not just sleeps) when not in use. It was a great price. And prints from my iPhone as well as my computer. Also bought one for my daughter and she seems to be happy with it as well.

Bought this a Brother color laser all in one that got killed by a power surge while doing some mains work. My fault, not Brother’s! Logic dictates not putting it on the UPS because of the large draw when it starts; never occurred to me to worry about the feed side… Otherwise, that color laser would be alive today.
In fact, before I bought this, I swapped in a 7+ year old Brother mono laser that sat idle for years and when I plugged it in and loaded the drivers, it output a quality test page. But with tax season coming I really needed a duplexing printer so I when I decided to buy, Brother was my first choice.
I opted to go with a mono laser, since I have a Brother ink jet AIO if I really need color printing. And it has an auto document feed for the scanner so I didn’t need that feature either. This allowed me to save a little cash but still get great performance and features to match my needs. And this model really fit the bill. It’s quiet, energy efficient and prints duplex pages quickly. The flatbed scanner is high quality and the copy feature makes it easy to use for a few quick copies.
Best of all, I know it will be with me for the long run. I’ve put the old mono back in storage – but I know it’ll be there in a pinch! I haven’t bought another brand of printers since I bought my first Brother and I think you’ll be as pleased as I am with this model.

I love it! I haven’t had it long enough to comment on how much printing before it needs maintenance. However, I researched different printers for about a month and felt that a laser printer seemed to meet my needs the most. I homeschool so I print a lot but there will be periods of time I do not print for awhile and I have read that ink jets are more likely to have ink issues during periods of non-use. I love the wireless ability from my phone, laptop and tablets, the quality of printed material is great and the scanning/copying feature convenient. I do not use color printing enough to warrant the extra expense. A little extra expense up front but I suspect it will be much more cost effective then ink jets in the long run.

Took Me 5 Minutes To Set Up On My Mac

The reason I did not buy through Best Buy was due to the bad reviews were sooo bad I chose to buy locally just in case. Honestly, you look at the star rating and it's nearly 5 stars. Then you start reading the reviews and all you see is 1 star and people saying "don't buy". I just sat down on my MacBook Pro, OS 10.15.7 and went straight to the Brother Support website and downloaded the recommended software. After the download it took me less than 5 minutes to set this up. It asked if I wanted to use my wifi and it automatically grabbed my password. I turned on the printer, after a minute my computer screen said push WiFi button on the printer. I said yes to use WiFi and a few seconds went by and it then said, your printer is ready to be used. I've now printed from my computer and my wifes computer. In fact on hers I just went into settings and selected Printer, it saw the Brother and asked if I wanted to download teh printer driver. I can't answer why some people have all these problems. I can tell you that I finally got to the point of only reading the good reviews on all printers as the bad reviews were extreme. My experience is, I wish I had set this up 3 weeks ago when I bought it. I anticipated a night of frustration and got no frustration. Oh...it's silent when in sleep mode, it takes seconds when I send a print job and out it comes. You know with all new injets it takes at least 5 minutes of noise etc before it'll print. And now I'm no longer held to a tiny little inkjet ink cartridge that can only print 100 pages. Free at last!

The Printer is Quick and Quiet with lots of Quality. Since we usually only print in Black and White, I wish I would have bought this model a long time ago. and saved money on the color ink.

Compact and no issues whatsoever, great purchase. This is by far the best printer I’ve purchased compared to my older printers that would give me issues and I’ve purchased more expensive printers than this one

If you are in need of a printer that is very easy to setup, unobtrusive and has a scanner this is a good option. So far it has been great with scanning documents to archival as well as handling large print jobs well. Would recommend it to anyone who needs it for non-color prints for the price!

This printer was purchased to replace an HL-L2380DW black and white laser printer I purchased in 2016. On that one, the touch screen failed and it was time for a new drum. Buying a new one seemed like the best option. This has all the features I need (wireless, duplex) and it works perfectly. It handles envelopes well. The form factor is bigger than my previous printer, but it's still pretty compact. It's a winner.
I should add that I purchased this printer in the store, but couldn't get it to work when I tried to set it up. After way too long on the phone with Brother tech support, they finally decided that there was a mechanical problem with the printer. I returned it to Best Buy. The return was simple and Best Buy ordered a new one (it was out of stock in the store) which was delivered to my house. Very pleased with Best Buy.

What I can I say about this printer? Its not too big, it prints front and back, it copies, and scans. I have no complaints. Unlike the other reviewer who says it doesn't work on a mac network, for me it does. I've had no problems with either macs or PCs. Its easy to install. For under $100 its a great buy!
