    fast printer uses ink pretty fast

    I like the printer but it has gone through ink pretty fast and has shaded copies

      Hi, we understand you are experiencing an issue with the ink running out quickly. The stated page yields for genuine Brother cartridges are based on the ISO testing standards. The number of pages that can be printed with a cartridge is affected by several factors, including paper size, number of pages per print job, amount of print on each page, font size, and print content (graphics, charts, etc.). Print jobs with large text fonts, graphics, charts, and/or large amount of solid coverage (black or any given color) will use much more toner and will shorten the life of the toner cartridge.     Printer always goes offline with Macbook Air/Pro

    Two people are using this printer. One with Macbook Air and the other with a Macbook Pro. The printer continuously goes offline if they don't use it frequently, and then they have to delete the printer and re-add it to print something. Googled dozens of solutions, and nothing resolves problem.

    Worst printer ever! I had another model, same brand and never had a problem. This one it's going to the garbage! Can't replace the cartridge. It keeps saying it needs replacement. Went on you tube to get tips on how to solve this problem and it looks like it's very common problem with this model. Tried everything and no success. Now I can't return or exchange because of the time line. DON'T RECOMMEND !

    Great printer for the cost

    I really would like to give this printer a 4.5 star review. The setup was easy except for connecting to wireless. I have a one year old Linksys 77300 router. I followed the directions but the printer would not connect to the WiFi after a couple of attempts. I rebooted the router as it suggested but it would not connect. The troubleshooting directions recommend that I enter my password manually on the printer if it will not connect automatically and it connected. Still the whole process of wireless connection to two computers took only about 30 minutes. The printer works great and prints very nicely. I no longer have to be aggravated with ink cartridges that dry out and will not print. This is the first time I have bought a Brother printer, used another brand before but thought I would try something different. Hope this is the last printer I will need for a long time. If you need a black print only printer, you should consider this one.

    piece of junk! broke in week or 2 making lines on pages!waited to call brother for support got disconnected twice after being on phone almost 2 hours troubleshooting nothing resolved!!!now i am 2 days past a return should have just sent back right away!dont waste your time with brother support just return it!

    May have WIFI issues

    Purchased and set up and connected to wifi- VERY TEDIOUS, no WPS option that I could find to connect to my router. This means you have to use an up-arrow/down-arrow method to enter your WLAN password one letter at a time which takes a while. This wouldn't be so bad if it would stay connected. Only have had a few days and saw the wi-fi light blinking. It had disconnected... may be taking it back to Best Buy. My router turns off at night, but then turns back on. None of my other gear has a problem with this. This printer should re-connect as well.

    Could not keep this printer connected. When it was connected it would'nt stay online then occasionally it would print all the pending jobs at one time.

    Wi Fi setup is garbage. The setup wizard cannot find the printer when connected with a USB cable, although printing can be done with the cable. The online video relates to an entirely different printer which has a different menu. The written instruction are simple pictures which tell you nothing.

    This printer is not what I expected. It seems to have problems with printing everything I send. It does not print requests right away. Sometimes it takes 10-30 minutes to receive data before it prints. Can I return it? Or do you have any suggestions for improving this routine. Thank you

    After installation of software driver, and upon the first time using it, error message "print unable 0B" is displayed and the printer refuse to work. And picture refuse to upload on the review website.

    It stopped printing after four months for no obvious reason. Now I have to figure out how to access the Brother warranty (which looks difficult and prohibitive from my location) or just be out the $150 plus $80 for extra toner. Would not buy this brand again.
