Needed a simple b&w laser printer for my home office and this fit the bill. There are a bunch of applications it makes you download to run it though-- for software updates, usage tracking (which they claim is only for data purposes), etc. Also! This may only bother some people, but as someone who's very sensitive to high pitch sounds, you can hear the whine of electricity when it's on. My current solution is to keep it turned off in between uses. All-in-all, the printer works as expected. Have not had any issues so far and am enjoying my purchase.

My new Brother printer allows me to print from my I pads and my I phone, which is fantastic. I love the laser printing (only color is black) because I don’t need to print copies with color. Color ink is so very expensive! I upgraded to the new printer because my other Brother printer was old and I pads and my I phone were not compatible.

I picked this after being annoyed with my ink jet always drying out when i only have to print the occasional shipping label or whatever. I never need to print color so this works just fine with me
