This printer was fast and easy to set up. Works from my phone. Exactly what we needed for our minimal print needs. Love that the brother app tracks toner so we know well ahead of time when we might need to order more. So far, the best printer I’ve owned!

Easy to set up, prints fast, double sided works great, no connectivity problems whatsoever. I print coloring books on high quality paper, and use it for foiled cardstock illustrations, both of which require high quality detail to look right. I have run into a little bit of messy extra toner on some pages, which isn't a big deal for my purposes and seems to have somewhat resolved itself after running more pages through it.

    Solid and Simple Laser Printer

This Brother laser printer is great. It came very well packaged. There was an overabundance of paperwork - most unnecessary - but the Quick Setup Guide was clearly written and easy to follow. The toner cartridge was extremely easy to install (I have fought installation in some other laser printers). The paper was also easy to load and has guides that are well marked for sizes. Once turned on, the machine instantly said "Ready". I did have an issue with the online setup of the wireless network. It just kept circling trying to connect. So I manually added the network right on the printer - very easy and connected without a problem. The best part of this laser printer is the clear quality of the prints and the fast printing. I occasionally have to print large numbers of documents, and this printer prints 2-3 times faster than my inkjets. The quality is better too. Overall, I highly recommend this Brother laser printer - it's quality built, easy to setup and use, and prints clearly and quickly.

Printer is reasonably priced for the quality and speed of this unit. Easy to set up and operate. Compact size is a plus and, although compact, it has plenty of the right features (auto duplex for two sided printing, can handle labels and envelopes, holds plenty of paper). Great print quality.

This is another excellent addition to this line of printers. My previous one lasted for 15 years—so long that I went from hardly having a smart phone, until I got tired of not being able to print from the smart phone. This one is smaller, slightly faster, and just generally very nice. Only reason to not give it five stars is that toner is still more expensive than Moet champagne.

This was the best printer I ever had until one day it just stopped. I only had it a little over a year and unfortunately, the warranty was over. I was going to get it fixed, but when I called the company, brother, they said it needed a new hard drive. I would be better off to just buy a new one. I tried a different brand this time, hoping that it would last longer, but I can’t stand the new printer that I got. I constantly have to put in my email address and upgrade it even though I haven’t even had it for a year. I did like this printer until it quit working.

After reading reviews for an hour on which printer to buy. I chose this one. I owned a Cannon which only lasted 4 years and cost $350 I wasn't going with a Cannon again. All I mainly use my printer for is to print shipping labels on ebay. So with that in mind I wanted a laser printer over an inkjet. I see many people having issues with the wireless connection to set it up to a point where they take it back per the reviews. I was hoping the reviewers that said this are just not tech oriented as that's really all they say. I do see why they say it. ..but for $160 the wifi can't expect to be top tier.. you are buying a low cost printer you can't expect a 600 dollar item. This means don't have the printer on the other end of the house it won't work. have it within 20 feet of the router. Once this is done the setup is a piece of cake. My cannon took 5 minutes to warm up. This thing warms up in less than 8 seconds. Prints within 5 seconds. I am pretty thrilled on how fast it is. For $160 you can't beat this thing. The second I open ebay to print a label I can hear it warm up before I even hit the print button It's like its just waiting on a print job. Deep sleep is another thing people are stating ..I feel they simply have it to far away from their router which is probably they only thing I can see would be an issue for anyone. If that's the case get yourself a cable and plug it into your computer. ..I do not encounter any issues with it not waking up .. I have only printed 3 labels with it but I am very impressed so far so longs it lasts more than 4 years only time will tell. Excellent value Quality gets a -1 for the poor range wifi have it close to the router and you will be fine...do not attempt to set it up without your phone the display is very small that would be another ding on ease of use..it is simple once you get your phone connected. Read the instructions you will be fine.

I love this printer! It works like a dream, I’ve printed well over 1000 pages since I’ve had it, and it is smooth sailing every time . Very simply to wake from deep sleep, never issues with paper jams, always 100% reliable for me. It doesn’t take up much space either, that and it’s not loud is a bonus! Definitely recommend!

The physical connection with our desktop and laptop computers worked right out of the box. Getting the WIFI working required more persistence. The installation software did not immediately find this model of Brother priinter. I had to follow the manual installation procedures, but they are not the easiest to follow. Part of the problem is that there are options further down in the list on the printer display that one needs to find. The printed instructions are not easy. I have been using computers since PCs were invented. Eventually, everything worked so that we can now use the AirDrop feature on our Apple Phones for printing.

I’ve been using this printer for my home office and it has been excellent so far. Setup was quick and straightforward, and connecting it to Wi-Fi took only a few minutes. Print quality is sharp and consistent, especially for text documents, which is exactly what I need. It’s fast, quiet, and very reliable. I appreciate that it’s a laser printer—no ink headaches or dried cartridges. Mobile printing works smoothly, and it handles everyday office tasks without any issues. The compact size is also a plus; it doesn’t take up much space. Overall, this is a great value for the price and a dependable choice for anyone looking for a simple, no-nonsense black-and-white printer for home or small office use. I would definitely recommend it.

The printer is small, compact, quick and quiet. I'd love to give this a 5-star review, but the software is substandard. It's an essential part of the printer's operation, so it brings the entire score down. It comes with a suite of five different applications, which seems like a lot for a monochrome printer with no fax or copy capabilities. None of these apps have been updated to match modern Windows design aesthetics. On Windows 10, the iPrint application (that lives in the system tray to monitor the printer) also leaves an invisible app in the Alt+Tab interface, which is annoying. The firmware updater displays a modal window that can't be dismissed and sits on top of all other apps until you complete the process. I still recommend the printer because you will probably enjoy using it if your printing needs are basic, like mine. But the software drags the experience down.

This the first printer I ever bought for myself. I chose a toner printer because I almost never print anything in color, and even if I did, I don't expect consumer printers to be well calibrated. Further research revealed toner essentially never goes bad, unlike ink, which dries out in 6 months. Truth be told, if you're using the latest version of Windows 10, you don't need to install Brother's adware. Just look up "printer" in Windows search after setting up the printer, locate it, and Windows will calibrate. It takes longer if you set up it via Wi-Fi. I find the prints to be crisp and attractive. Quality is as high as you can expect. I initially set this up via WI-FI, but found the connection dodgy, sometimes taking 5 minutes before the printer even received the signal (and that was after disabling "deep sleep." Look that up). It's a shame the box didn't have a printer cable, and that's why I'm docking one star. I bought a 15 foot printer cable, and now my printing is instant. I still have not installed Brother's software. Windows Update did add a few drivers, but given the printer was working before that, I'm not sure what difference they made. Installing the official software would just yield ads for refilling subscriptions. No thanks. I recommend this printer.
