A Mistake

It was a good printer, but didn’t do automatic two-sided prints. I bought this printer to do that. It was a mistake. The first problem was trying to print large file-size pictures. Anything with about 4GB or more wouldn’t print. After two minutes of “receiving data”, I would get an “out of memory” error message. So, I had to reduce the resolution of the pictures in order to get the prints, and often even that didn’t work. I then tried the basic printer driver. This improved the ability to print high resolution pictures, but not entirely. Additionally, the owner’s manual says the printer will wake up when receiving data. Mine didn’t. Whenever I wanted to print, I had to hit the power button to wake up the printer. I can’t imagine this working in an office environment. What are the designers thinking? I will say the print output is slightly better than my older Brother printer. After several months, I gave up trying to fix this printer. I put the HL-3140CW back in service and put this thing into the storage shed.

Like its a little bland or dull. The color black seems grayish. This I printed in the highest printer resolution. Somebody needs to enlighten me. Unless this printer is not for presentation as it has this selection in the settings.

Computer monitors display color as RGB (red, green, and blue) and can display millions of colors. The color laser machine uses a 4 color printing process of CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, and black) and uses these 4 colors to create as many colors as possible. Because the output of a computer monitor is emitted light and what we see on a printed document is reflected light, we cannot get a 100% accurate match.
