It’s just ok. I expected more pages per toner from a laser printer and I got only like 500 pages, so it isn’t high yield. Printing speed is also slower than mentioned on the website.

Hi, we understand you are experiencing an issue with your Brother HL-L
3270CDW is printing slow and the toner did not meet your expectation. We'd like to help. The stated page yields for genuine Brother cartridges are based on the ISO testing standards. The number of pages that can be printed with a cartridge is affected by several factors, including paper size, number of pages per print job, amount of print on each page, font size, and print content (graphics, charts, etc.). Print jobs with large text fonts, graphics, charts, and/or large amount of solid coverage (black or any given color) will use much more toner and will shorten the life of the toner cartridge. Click the link below to optimize the print speed.

The Brother - HL-L3270CDW Wireless Color Printer is perfect for home offices and small offices. It's easy to setup; plug it in, connect to your wireless network, discover the printer on your device and you're ready to send print jobs from you computer/laptop, or even print directly from your tablet or phone. With the Brother HL-L3270CDW, you have a several connection options. If wireless is not an option, you can connect the printer to your network using an ethernet cable, or you can connect it directly to your device using USB. The printer is fast, and the print quality is amazing. I use it to print high quality vibrant photos from my phone that I can immediately place in my home. When printing documents, I like that I can print double-sided and I can use different paper formats. The pages complete so fast it's incredible. Large print jobs of 200 pages are finished within minutes. Very impressive. The integration options on the Brother HL-L3270CDW are awesome. Using my phone/tablet, I can print directly to the printer from my Google Drive app. This is fantastic, because I no longer have to save the image to my device locally or send it to an email and then print it. The Brother HL-L3270CDW adds efficiency to printing, making it a time saver. The front panel LCD touch screen is really nice. Menus are easy to navigate, and you can make adjustments to the printer very easily right on the screen. I recommend the Brother -HL-L3270CDW wireless printer.

    Poor Cartridge Behavior

DO NOT BUY. Printer cartridges are defective, based on reviews of many people including myself. With only about 1/8th of a cartridge used, it becomes defective and prints dots and streaks all over the document. After their recommended cleaning of the cartridge, it once again spews ink dust again, you clean again yet never is correctable. You end up cleaning over and over without ever again getting a clean printout.

This machine is a very good printer and would be well suited to anyone that does a moderate amount of printing. As with a lot of laser printers it is heavy so be prepared for that! In terms of footprint it is compact for being a color laser printer that can hold 250 sheets of paper! The Wifi Direct and Cloud based printing options are pretty cool and enable you to print from just about any device or even remotely. The Brother app works pretty good and was straightforward to use. This machine does do automatic 2-sided printing which is pretty cool considering how compact it is. In terms of print quality, it's pretty good and the colors come out as advertised crisp and clear! Photos actually come out pretty good so if you're printing documents that have photos in them they will look pretty good. The color display is pretty nice and it does make it easier to use the printers embedded features. Navigation through the menus is better than some other comparable printers. As with all laser printers it does have some noise but isn't that bad and arguably quieter than some.. As with all laser printers there is a bit of a warm up time though this machine is pretty quick and ready to go relatively fast from the energy saver/sleep mode. A huge plus with this machine is the speed in which it prints color and black/white documents is the same for both types! Obviously printing in duplex slows it down some but you're printing 2 pages to one piece of paper. Toner is easy to find where it's a Brother printer and easy to install. In all, I'd recommend this machine for its quality, speed and features. It's a pretty solid machine with great print quality and speed.

Picking a good printer can be tricky sometimes. Most of them appear to produce quality documents, with one or 2 occasionally standing out above the rest. For me, print quality aside, the intangibles make the difference – size, speed, connectivity/accessibility, flexibility are all hug factors. The Brother HL-L3270CDW is the latest printer added to my household. It serves as the first printer I have used with toner cartridges. Heck, this is the first Brother printer I have ever used! The box housing this printer is pretty standard as printer packages go. It’s well protected and requires no assembly. This baby is a bit on the heavy side, in comparison to other printers of similar size. I was a bit worried about the space the printer would take up, but that turned out to be one of Brother’s first successes with me. Its footprint was no larger than the all-in-one office machine it replaced. Brother seems to have found the sweet spot for getting a device from purchase to operation. I plugged this thing in, followed the instructions, and had it working in no time. The only issue I ran into was the inability to install the software package. I could successfully download the package, but the install failed repeatedly. Eventually, I relented and just allowed Windows 10 to install the driver. Viola! Just like that, it was up and running. Once setup, the printer performed beautifully. It has a better than average printing speed and produces crisp documents and images. I found the HL-L3270CDW to produce quality on par and, in some cases, better than some of the best ink jet printers I have used. This printer seems to have that perfect balance between the crispness of a laser printer and the detail quality of the better ink jet printers. Brother is now near the top of my list for printers, when I’m in the market for purchase. The HL-L3270CDW won me over by being a toner printer with minimal footprint producing excellent documents consistently. So far, one of the best printers I have owned.

Lasted 6 months before it started giving us problems. We replaced the drum, the waste, ink before its time and it still can't print with out giving us a grey smudge down the middle. I've spent over $200 so far for a $300 printer and it still won't print nice.

I got a paper jam and didn't realize that I had to remove every colored cartridge to remove the jammed paper. I wish I was told. The feeding tray does not pull the paper in. I have to feed the paper in one at a time. When I used thick paper, it jammed. I wasted 10 high quality card stock when I was printing invitations. Avoid this printer. It is not worth the headaches.

The opportunity to get a quality home laser printer was just what I was looking for. When the chance came I just couldn’t pass it up. I’ve wanted a laser printer for a long time but the cost was just too prohibitive. The Brother solved that. Setup was a breeze, it took just a few minutes and I was printing high quality documents. I have a high resolution map of the Golden Chain Highway I like to test print. This gives me a good example of the quality output of my printers. The Brother did not disappoint, it produced the best quality print of any home printer I’ve tried. The prints are fast and communication from my devices are fast as well. I printed from my laptop, iPad and my iPhone. All the devices found the printer right away with no issues. The only possible issue I was concerned about is the cost of cartridges. The cartridges are around $70 and it takes 4 of them, that is $280 about the same cost as the printer. I don’t know how many pages can be printed but time will tell. As of now, this printer is exactly what I had hoped it would be and I would highly recommend for anyone looking for a quality home laser printer.

    Perfect Color Laser for SOHO

I have worked from home fairly often as of late, so I needed a printer that could keep up. I am a mechanical engineer, so I am often printing off item specs, and drawing files I need to check - it's easier for me to find dimensioning errors with the paper in hand vs. on the screen. Before the Brother HLlL3270CDW I had an older Brother MFC-J430W all in one printer. It was an inkjet printer/scanner/copier - and it will be my last inkjet ever. This new Brother Color Laser printer is so much better than the inkjet. For starters I probably only got 50pgs out of the high capacity cartridges before they dried up. I planned on working from home more at the time, and I overestimated my ink needs. Nevertheless, I lost a lot of ink to it drying out. I've also had this happen with a Dell AIO and an HP, so this is more of an inkjet issue for me rather than that one printer. Setup Setup for this printer was super easy. I loaded in some standard 8.5" x 11" paper into the tray and it was ready. FYI the max paper width is 8.5" so the largest standard paper size you can print is legal (8.5" x 14") via the fold down front tray. The main tray can accommodate paper down to A6 (4.1" wide) and the fold down tray can go down to 2.5" wide paper. I network tested wired and wireless connections, and both were just as easy. I left it wired since I had the space and the cable already. I installed the drivers and Brother's print utility from their website. My Windows 10 PC discovered the printer on my network immediately. I was able to print a word document within a few minutes of plugging the printer in. I also installed the Brother App on my phone to allow WiFi direct printing, which was easy to setup as well. The printer can also print directly from a number of web services - One Drive, One Note, Dropbox, BOX, Google Drive, and Evernote. I connected my One Drive, BOX, and Google Drive accounts to the printer. From on the little screen on the printer select the service you want, follow the instructions on a nearby PC to get an access code, and punch that code into the printer. From that point you are connected to the service and can select a document straight from the touchscreen - no computer needed afterwards. You can also schedule a print via email, which I haven't tried yet but actually sounds useful for remote printing. Interface The 2.7" resistive touch screen and 3 side buttons are your only on-device interface features. With that said they are simple and intuitive to use. My only gripe was punching in the numbers for the web services was frustrating due to the size of the number pad. Navigating the web services to print straight to the printer is pretty easy, and the touchscreen is fully adequate for this task. The only other interface you will have is the Brother iPrint&Scan Utility. It's a pretty simple utility to use and pretty straightforward. Both the touch screen and the iP&S utility also display your toner life/levels if you need to check it. Ease of Use So far this is the least frustrating printer I have had to deal with. I wrote connection and help documents for the 6 printers in my office because of all the quirks and issues that would pop up, so I am at least more than familiar with what can go wrong. This little color laser has given me no such issues. Select what you want to print, and it will print. I've had no jams or connection issues through 100 pages printed. I've done a 25 page double sided document with no issues, which is where I usually expect a printer to fall on its face. I have printed from 4 different devices - wired, wireless, Windows 10, Android, and Chrome OS. No issues have cropped up. Print Performance and Quality Print performance is perfectly adequate for me. I am able to hit the 25 ppm advertised speed on word documents, and I hit 20 ppm on a color Power Point that had several simple graphics, and random text formatting. The 25 page double sided print (13 pieces of paper total) took about 2.3 minutes, so double sided a little more than doubles the print time. I think that is perfectly reasonable print time for that operation. Print quality is very sharp. I printed legibly down to a font size of 6, and I'm sure it can go lower. The color .pptx document graphics were sharp and clean. The very first few pages printed had some stray toner dots but were gone by the third page printed - printing a test page would clear this up before you get to a real print. Overall I am pretty happy with the Brother HLlL3270CDW color laser printer. It performs admirably well for its price range, and I think its packs good value. The ability to print directly from web services without needing a computer is a nice feature. It works well for me in my small home office setup, and I think it would work just as well in a small business scenario. I don't think this printer will meet its end in a grassy field any time soon - if you know what I mean.

Best business class home printer ever!

Over the years I have spent a ton of cash on average quality, consumer grade printers. All of them were plastic pieces of junk that either quickly ran out of ink, the ink was as as expensive as a new printer or it failed to some unknown reason. Either way they all ended up in the trash usually after one year. This printer is nothing like those. It is a full sized business printer. Some of the things I liked about it were that is was easy to set up. There is no bloatware to install on your computer. I basically just connected it to the WiFi and all my computers found it immediately. The paper tray fits a ream of paper with ease, the ink was a large business style cartage with enough ink to last for a long time. The print quality was outstanding, the speed was great and it can do dual sided print jobs. The only negative about it was the little screen used to set it up. I was a little too small to type in my WiFi password. I had to use my finger nail to tap all the letters I wanted. With all that being said, in my opinion this is the best business class home printer ever!
