I have worn out 2 Brother MFW laser printers that did not print on both sides of the paper. This CDW one does that easily and quickly. I have never used the FAX feature on the previous printers because of not having a landline phone. So, I don't miss that feature not being in this printer.

Network Connectivity

Print output is good. Biggest issue is wireless network connectivity. Printer doesn't seem to have the smarts to reconnect to the network. Reserved the IP address in the router then deleted and added back using a WSD port with the reserved IP address. At the moment wireless network connectivity seems stable.

My first laser printer. Seems to be working well. I just wish it’s more portable. But I read laser printers are usually bulky and heavy due to components inside the machine. So far I like the prints that comes out of it. But it’s true, laser printers are not good for picture printing. I hope this will last me many years.

So much easier to use than our 4 year old HP that ceased working, even though used very little.
This is instant on, opposed to HP warm-up, up to 4-5 minutes sometimes.
And printing uses toner, way cheaper than totally over-priced ink cartridges.

BestBuy Does not Support the Products they Sell

I purchased this printer for the office, and it was not set up until a few days before the extremely short return window closed. Once set up, the print quality was horrible, and the printer simply dumped toner onto the paper. I cleaned the printer following Brother's guidelines, which improved the print quality a bit, but it still prints multi-color toner lines on each side of the page.
I called BestBuy, and after working my way through their horrible automated service, I was told that I could schedule an appointment at the store and they would attempt to troubleshoot it or return it to Brother based on their "No Lemon Policy"... their words.
After waiting a week to get an appointment, they called about 20 minutes before the appointment to cancel, saying they do not repair printers. I called the store back and was put on hold and eventually disconnected. I called again and spoke to an associate, who told me to bring the printer in and they would resolve it.
I then drove the 45-pound printer to the store, walked in, and asked to speak to the manager. I was told by the manager that they do not have a "no lemon" policy and that I would need to speak to Brother.
I have had many Brother printers in the past, and I have liked them all. This is a review of Best Buy. Do not purchase anything from them... they don't stand behind what they sell. Amazon is cheaper and has a better return policy.

Because I had such a fine experience with a Brother bw laser printer for many years, when it was no longer usable on my system, I looked at a new Brother. I chose this color printer over several other options. It more than meets my expectations. It is economical to use and has everything I need for a home printer.

Got tired of the inkjet printers a long time ago. Had a previous Laser printer that was 8 years old and finally gave out so picked this one up. Was east to set up and looks great. Definitely recommend this to anyone.

This is second Brother laser printer we own. First is a black and white. The only complaint with this is the lack of printed instructions to use it's features. It was a little difficult to set up wireless but once installed it's easy to print to and makes good prints.

Great printer at an affordable price.
Double-sided printing.
Works well for all devices in my home network.
Bummer it doesn't have a feeder for scanning / copying multi-page documents. But at the end, you can't have it all.
LED user interface is a bit cumbersome, though.

Fits my need perfectly. Quick and easy setup, though old school click through each letter (lower and upper case, plus numbers and symbols) one at a time to enter WiFi password. Would have scored 5 stars if it allowed me to push the password from a phone or tablet.

Great printer/copier!!! Set up was super easy and it it stays connected to the Wi-Fi and you can print from any device in the house. (Connectivity was the major issue with our other printer…manufacturer will remain unnamed)

100% impressed with this printer. Color laser is finally affordable for home use and this all-in-one printer doesn’t disappoint. The major advantage of laser of ink is it doesn’t clog during periods of non-use. The output is more uniform and professional looking than ink.

Awesome printer and easy to setup. My only nitpick is that it can’t do auto feed scanning. Unless I’m doing something wrong, it can only so platen scanning. So if you need to scan a lot of pages, this ain’t the one you want. Other than that, it’s been rock solid.

Decent printer, terrible setup instructions

Overall the product works good and print quality is very good. Rating of only 3 stars reflects difficulty in getting printer set up. The instructions included were insufficient and terrible. I had to spend a fair amount of time googling solutions myself. I tried calling customer service, but gave up after being on hold for 20 mins. Also, after install I still cannot change default option to 1 page printing (even though I've changed in setup menu) and I still cannot choose a particular computer in which to send scans. Overall I give the product 4 stars, but ease of setup is 1 star.

I needed a printer that could scan, print double-sided, and also print in color. I wanted to get away from ink-jet since it ran through ink, and this made an excellent replacement. So far, no issues and it was easy to set up!

I've always used a office jet ink printer. And I thought that the print was sharp and the colors were bright until I purchased this Brother HL-L3290CDW laser printer. This laser is sharper and the colors are brighter than the office jet ink printer.

So far, 1 month in, I like this printer OK. The copying, especially Black/White coloring is TERRIBLE!!!! The color copying is better, and thus far it feels more reliable than my HP. I prefer HP printing, but I was tired of them breaking after 1 year.

If you print a lot of documents on an inkjet and haven’t tried a laser yet you are missing out. The text you get from toner is much crisper and clearer than an inkjet and can be touched immediately without fear of smudging the ink. I was able to print 50 page documents with color diagrams in just a few minutes. They came out looking as good as if I had went to a local print shop
The printer is also quiet, a few seconds after you hit print you'll hear it warm up then it'll spit out pages fast. It can also print double-sided which is a nifty feature but I noticed it leaves the papers curled when they come out. Not a big deal but single-sided pages do come out completely flat. It has a large paper tray so you don’t have to worry about constantly feeding it paper and of course a toner cartridge lasts much longer than an inkjet one.
Although I haven't had it long, I can already tell it will be reliable and last me for years. I know this because I have a black and white Brother laser printer which is hands down the best printer I’ve ever owned. I’ve had it for 2 years and have yet to change the toner and it has never jammed.
However, this is a big machine and will take up a lot of desk real estate. I knew it was big but I was still surprised by just how big when I pulled it out of the box. I actually don't have a place for it other than the floor at the moment. Setup was simple, just remove all the blue tape they use to keep it safe in transit, take out each toner cartridge, remove the orange plastic, and place them back in their spots. Then fill it with paper, power it on, and connect it to your wifi. I didn't use the included CD as once it was connected to the network my Mac and Windows machines found it and were ready to go. It supports AirPrint so I was able to print straight from my iPhone with no additional setup.
Also, be aware that laser printers are not really made for printing photos. The photos I tested came out looking decent, and in some cases pretty good even on plain paper, but if you need any photo capability at all don't expect this to replace a good photo inkjet.. It does not print borderless nor does it accept common photo sizes such as 4x6 or 5x7.
Pros -
Reliable
Wireless
Fast, Color Printing
Large Paper Tray (250 sheets)
Two-sided option
Cons -
Big / Heavy
Photo Printing is poor
Overall, if you are looking to print business-type documents in color you really can’t go wrong with this provided you have the space for it

We purchased this printer for home use about a month ago. So far it has worked very well to print presentations and letters, and to scan and copy other items. The quality is great and the cost is reasonable. If you are sick of your inkjet, I recommend this LaserJet as an alternative.
