I can't complain about the print quality this machine is great. My only complaint is the cost of the drums. For those of you who don't know after a certain number of toner changes you have to change the drum for each color at $110.00 each one maybe a little more. I wish Brother would do what HP does and make the drum part of the toner then as you change your toner your drum is also done nice and easy. But i do still highly recommend this product if your debating . though it has its drawbacks. I needed this machine quick and could not wait to order the HP still happy with the brother

Overall this is a decent printer. The salesman at the Eden Prairie store assured me that this is a laser printer. Now I know that it is not a laser printer, but in fact a LED printer. I tested the printer when I got home and I am pleased with the text quality; it looks comparable to laser. Then I tested the picture quality and found it to be quite poor. The photos look like they were printed on a 15 year old machine. If you need good photo quality, DO NOT BUY. The set up was smooth and I love the features. LED printers, as I found out, have some reliability advantages over laser as well. I recommend this printer if you do not need picture printing.

    Helpful Printer/Scanner not so much

The printer works great. Mainly wireless hook up so no cables going everywhere. Connection does go bad here and there. Would need to re-start computer and printer to re-gain connection. Scanner takes a minute to find computer. Most times I have to try scanning one item multiple times before it connects and sends file. Scanner feeder also lags, it does two pages and then slowly does the rest. I primarily open to scan than do multiple pages since the lag. Its being used in a small office environment and we need scans to be quick. As to the fax, haven't used it yet. Printer is excellent, doesn't go through toner quickly. If your looking more for a quick scanner for multiple pages, keep on looking.

The printer worked well with my wired desktop via USB. I am still working through the kinks in making it work with the wireless computers in the house, but did successfully print from a wireless connected laptop. I am still working on the second wired desktop in the house as the printer wants a USB connection which I cannot provide. I just need it to be a networked printer and show on the computers as available in stead of "offline" I do have IT training and was unhappy I had to utilize that training to set this printer up. i.e. The average user may need to contact Brother to get this to work the way they wish on their unique system.

Great all-in-one but get extended warranty!

I have 2 MFC-9130CW (in-home office and business location). It is easy to use and I really love it. However, each one has died within 1 year but thankfully, I purchased extended warranties on both and had them both replaced. Got the extended warranty on each of the replacements--again, I love them but lets see if they break again. I would not recommend buying these without buying the extended warranty (additional $29.99)--they are replaced for free if you have it. Because the toners are large, I don't have to replace ink often.

I bought this unit under the advice of the bestbuy staff. It's easy to install, but the wifi connection sometimes doesn't show up with my phones or laptop. I need to reset it a few times a week to get it working correct. -- Fast first pages. -- Clean and clear text -- fairly quiet ------ -- Poor picture quality -- Doesn't have the auto front and back option (was told it did, but I didn't due diligence)

Printer came with set-up CD but did not work with my MacBook 10.12. Since unable to install MFC Pro Suite, unable to use scan function to save into my MacBook. Easy to set-up printer function after downloading driver from Brother website. There is no usb or memory card slot to save scans. Not worth spending for if unable to utilize full functions. Great prints though.

My wife and I were looking for a home office work station that would meet all of our needs but maintain a reasonable cost point. While not as flashy as some of the more known models like Xerox, Cannon, or others, the Brother does offer a variety of features to include direct faxing, wireless connectivity, and network set up which makes it a formidable alternative to the more costly options.

    Decent but not laser quality

Purchased this as my first home laser printer - rather disappointed with the print quality, unless it's something I'm doing, I don't see any great difference between this printer and an inkjet. Not what I hoped for when starting out with some graphic design projects. Also had a difficult time configuring for wireless connection (no USB cable available) on Windows 10.

This model prints a color demo page that is fabulous; however, when printing one of my documents with a gradient pale blue background, it is pixelated and poor print quality. The same file prints beautifully on another vendor's printer. Maybe it needs better drivers, but none yet available that produce better results.

    Colors are so dull

I knew it was a laser before I bought it, but the sample print tricked me into thinking that maybe they were better than they used to be. The colors are just incredibly dull compared to an inkjet, and generally don't come anywhere close to matching what you see on your monitor. If you're looking for accurate color reproduction, look elsewhere!

My wife and I were in need for a new printer and decided on the lazer printer instead of ink cartridges. The only draw back to the printer we choose was that you were only able to print pictures on to the large sheet of photo paper instead of choosing different sizes. Before recommending this printer, I would ask if paper size mattered to those who asked.

This printer has everything you need EXCEPT two sided printing or scanning. VERY disappointed with this, went over all the features and must have missed it. It also can not print without all ink cartridges, even in greyscale. Overall good printer, reliable.

I have been using this model printer for over a year and I find that setup can be a bit difficult though Brother tech support is great and knows what they are doing. The quality of the color printing is OK just don't expect to print quality pictures on it. Over all though I have been content with my choice.

Has almost all of the necessary printer functionality. Auto selection between color and black & white, auto document feed, lifting cover to allow documents on the glass, large volume paper tray, touch screen controls. Very disappointed in Brother support when you need help solving problems.

When I purchased this device it said on the Best Buy product description that it did duplex printing. It only does manual duplex printing. Should have done my homework and/or used the duplex printing feature earlier so I could return the printer and get one with auto duplexing.

All in ones. Not sure I'm a fan but it's what my dad wanted. He also wanted laser. I've set up a million of these and work in IT. HP is far more out of the box ready. Took too much time and if you don't have a CD Drive which most laptops don't now ... you download from the mfg site. This is where this process fails.

Our printer is doing a good job after the first page when we print multiple pages. The first page letters are light some time, so some times we have to print it again. Plus our pictures colors are not the true colors of the items of what we took.

Print job takes forever to complete as it is connected via wifi. It will print faster if you connect it through USB but that's good for one machine. However, in a small office network, everyone has to print, which will be connected via wifi.
