Easy setup, works well for my small office personal needs.

Pro: way better than my HP; doesn’t get trapped in proprietary dead ends like HP does; Lots of features; great value; Set up on first laptop was easy and seamless; great size; high quality document printouts; desktop icon very user friendly; nice paper capacity; doc feeder works very good at this price point Con: when in standby mode, no indicator LED to know to shut down for extended away; display is a bit small, clumsy and way too crowded; seems like non needed button presses required to accomplish some things; set up on second laptop went sideways and needed Gk Sq help to unravel; online instructions for some 2 sided features needs to be clearer;

Very compact compared to other's in its price (i.e. Epson, Canon, HP, etc) and while it's all plastic everything is designed for a tight tolerance. One big warning - if you plan to hook it up to a desktop or laptop via USB the connection is INSIDE the printer and you need a thin printer cable (not included) to close the printer after you put the cable inside a little cable guide which then sticks out the side. It's good that it has 4 individual cartridges (although it doesn't look like they hold a lot of ink) so you can replace them one at a time (Black, Magenta, Cyan, Yellow). They also bug you about their "Subscription Ink" service - they usually are not in your favor no matter how much their marketing says it is. Buy the Cartridges when you need them (you can have spares on hand when they run out) and you get good deals on Black XL and packaged with a set of color cartridges. Also, downloading all the software and installing it on a PC took around 20-30 minutes.

Didn't know that a local company made these kind of products and it works great. I can print from anywhere in the house. The print quality is excellent.

I've had other brands and the quality of Brother printers compared to other brands is superior. Some of the things I like, are the speed of printing and the multifunctional capabilities of the printer. I like that, it's wireless and can be hardwired at the same time. I can fax, scan and make copies on the printer. Not to mention the app works great on my Android phone. And even if I don't install the app, my phone has great default printer propertie, which work well with brother printers. But I don't like that this printer is color. If it only came in black that would allow people to purchase less ink instead of having to purchase all colors, just to print in black only. I had my previous one for about 8 years.

Good replacement...My Canon printer stopped working and the IT support provided ceased so I had to purchase something reliable and this was it. Prints fast and the color looks great.

Good printer, just that it makes random mechanical restart sound even when turned off. But overall easy and smooth to use. Good print quality and functionality.

I've only had the printer about a week. So far, I have no complaints! It was easy to set up and install on my Windows 11 PC! !t works great for my needs as I don't do heavy printing. I bought it online and the store called me about an hour later and said it was ready for pick-up!

The printer is fine. It installed easily to my Apple devices. The problem came when I tried to install it to my Windows 10 computer. I called Brother Support and their tech said that I needed to have a windows 11 license. I agreed to the amount and he installed the printer. I then went Best Buy tech, he said my prossessor was not compatible.Brother gave me back all except $100 for the install. I think this is deceptive. They should have told me the support’s cost for installation upfront. I’m writing this to warn others of these deceptive practices.

I purchased the Brothers MFC-J1010DW printer about two weeks ago and so far very satisfied. I had a little trouble with the set up , some of it was my problem and some was a little confusing. After the initial set up, things were quite easy to use and the print quality is very good. The best thing is their refresh program for the ink. I signed up right away, even though I don’t do a lot of printing. In the past, I would generally replace my ink cartridges on my old canon about every eight or nine months. With the refresh subscription, I don’t have to worry about printing in color or not because they have already sent me a new set of cartridges, even though I barely started to use it. I am on their occasional use plan for only $1.99 a month. You can change anytime if you think you need more than the 25 copies that it allows. at my current usage level that will cost me about $20 to change to new cartridges. Couldn’t be happier.

Excellent printer for the money! I don't print photos or a lot of graphics, primarily just office text, email etc... This is the second one I have bought, for my SIL. My first one is still running 2 years later...
