Great printer for the money...excellent print quality...easy setup...very easy to replace ink cartridges when needed. I had several HP wireless printers that stopped working. This Brother seems of better quality and thus far has exceeded my expectations.

I have used Brother printers for many years. They give reliable service and good value for the money both for initial cost and for supplies. I use both OEM ink and toner and 3rd party products. The installations are rather intense but the outcome has always been good. I have been using wireless connections to multiple PCs for the last few printers and they all work flawlessly. This is actually a color printer that comes with starter ink cartridges. I don't know how long they will last so I have bought full cartridges to be ready to replace as necessary. The colors are individual cartridges which can be replaced one at a time. This is another great feature of Brother inkjet printers.

I got tired of changing cartridges in my HP, I ended up with an Epson. Not much better there. Then the Epson stopped printing so I decided on this Brother printer. Overall, this printer meets my needs. Decent overall quality. Print cartridges are easily changed in front. Setup for WiFi was pretty easy. My only complaint about this printer is that it is slow. Much slower than the HP and Epson printers. But for the cost of the printer and cartridges, I'm willing to sacrifice the speed.

This brother replaces my older version of the all in one brother we had. It was easy to set up. Quickly set up WiFi connection and was ready to work. Much easier than my older brother. I like brother all in ones because they are simple, and you can use third party ink and save a lot of money. Unlike older hp printers where they nailed you with ink. You can print, scan, copy, and fax. Best of all it’s smaller than most of its competitors sized all in ones, which I absolutely love.

This printer is to replace an old Cannon printer that died. It has a front loading paper that is really helpful and is smaller so it fits in the office better. This is an easy to use printer and price was great.

My HP stopped printing black despite changing ink and doing all the regular 'fixes'......second time. I switched to the Brother MFC-J485DW and am very pleased. Set up was so easy....I'm not a geek and I found it a simple task. All the setting options are in the front of the printer, easy to read and execute. Functions of 2 sided printing, scan to documents are flawless. Fax capability is also possible with this printer. I could not be happier with my printer and the price was right!

I am happy with this printer as it does everything that I need. It's compact and the ink isn't so expensive. It isn't the fastest printer but I can deal with that. Good wifi connection too.

I purchased this item specifically because I need double-sided scanning. The Best Buy website states this is a feature of the product but it is not. The print quality is good, it is relatively easy to set up, and the scan quality is fine. Ultimately, the machine is good for the price but be aware the Best Buy website doesn't appear to be a trustworthy source of information.

Overall this printer is very good for home use. The print quality is good. The flatbed and auto document feeder on top make for easy scanning and copying. The wireless and AirPrint capabilities make for a very convenient experience. Individual ink was also a nice feature at this price point. It has average printing speed so I wouldn't say this is for heavy use.

Like the size for an all in one. Photo copies are not as crisp as the HP it replaced, but still ok for copies. Very easy to setup.

This is a secondary printer/scanner to use at home. We have a brother monochrome laser printer with wireless connectivity that we use as our primary printer. Postives: 1. Supports Google Print (print from anywhere through the cloud). 2. Color prints at normal quality print reasonably quickly (~20 seconds for a page with about 40% coverage). 3. Not too loud, noticeable, but not bothersome. 4. Small size. It's easy to tuck away with just a power cord plugged in. We print exclusively wirelessly. Negatives: 1. Comes with starter print cartridges. Sounds like they expect them to be useless after about 6 months of use, regardless of coverage. 2. Colors are not vibrant on the normal setting (then again, this isn't supposed to be a replacement for a photo printer, so it's not a huge negative in our use case). Overall, for the price, it's a good printer. The one star deduction is for the starter ink cartridges and the lack of color vibrancy.

I purchased this printer because it was the cheapest all in one on the shelf at Best Buy at the time. I was pleasantly surprised to discover how easy it was to install the drivers and utilities for it on each of the three pcs that will use the printer. It comes with receipt and document management software as well as typical printing and scanning software. I also like the fact that it doesn't broadcast, no SSID like HP printers do. In other words, it can only be seen by those logged onto the same wireless network....a good thing.

I bought this printer due to the very affordable sale price... I was just looking for a basic printer to print documents (scripts, emails, tickets etc.) that didn't need to be high quality. I feel like I definitely got a lot of features like wifi, DUPLEX PRINTING!!, scanning, and fax... and it even has an LCD screen on it. I was able to print documents from my android as well as iOS devices, and also printed from a Mac and Windows PC. Setup was painless and everything just works. The printer is a bit loud if that matters to you and printing in high-quality mode can be a bit slow, but for general normal-quality prints, this thing is quite fast. I haven't run out of ink yet on any of the separate ink cartridges, but I've read that you can buy 3rd party inks super cheap online. The Brother inks aren't terribly expensive either, but that just really depends on how much printing you actually do. I don't print much so I'm sure these starter cartridges will last a while. If you're on a budget or don't need anything fancy, you can't go wrong with this printer. Being able to set it up anywhere in the house via Wifi without using a USB or Ethernet cable is a huge plus!
