Long Lasting and Fast Printing

This laser printer is a great printer for my use cases. I don’t need to print often, but when I do it needs to be a good quality and easy to use. I’ve become frustrated with other printers requiring a subscription for ink or ink drying up because I don’t print often. I also don’t need to print in color and the color ink would be full, while the black would be running out on my inkjet printer.
That is where this laser printer shines. The cartridge should last a very very long time and printing is incredibly fast. Coming from an inkjet printer, it seems impossibly quick.
The printer is packaged well, and although not small, the footprint isn’t that large. Set up was incredibly easy using the built in screen. It is large enough that touching and typing is quick and easy. Once set up on my wireless network, the printer was instantly discoverable by all of my devices - an iPad, iPhone, Mac, and Windows laptop.
I don’t think there is more that you could ask for in a printer. For small/medium office use this would be great. It prints on both sides with ease and has a scanner with a feed ability. The paper tray is also quite large. For me, this is an easy to recommend printer if you need something reliable, quick, and easy to use.

Brother restored my sanity

I was using a rivals All-In-One/Multi-function Printer & smaller scanner-printer combo as well for about a year after I had given a family member my Brother LaserJet MFC printer because I had an overabundance of printers and I instantly regretted doing so. The Brother LaserJet that I had was amazing. So I was happy to get the opportunity to go back to a Brother MFC laser printer; I was so over the moon that I texted my significant other immediately & told her we could get rid of the crappy rival brand printers finally because we were going back to the best of the best again! She was happy too! So let's get into the review, shall we?
Setup?:
Setup was an absolute breeze. I hooked the cabling up, fired up the Brother iOS app & had my new printer online in less than 10 minutes. I could not be happier!
Build Quality?:
The build quality of this printer is exactly what I have come to expect from Brother. It is sturdy but not overweight; it is clean & elegant looking with it's black plastic, but not so plasticky that it looks like a toy; it doesn't feel flimsy or like any of the parts could break off if you look at it wrong.
Ease of Use?:
Between the touchscreen display & the iOS/Mac OS and Android apps we have been printing from our iPhones, Android phones, MacBooks, and Windows based PCs. It literally could not be any easier.
Web Access?:
The web access GUI was very familiar to me since having previously had a brother MFC before. The only quirky thing I found was that the password for the web GUI was on the back of the printer and it wanted me to change the password (I know why in a work setting) but it kept complaining at me until I changed it and I just changed it to the same password that was on the back of the printer and it stopped complaining. Easy enough I suppose.
Drawbacks/Cons?:
I sometimes wish it was color instead of just black & white but that is just for future-proofing sake really because we don't print a lot, if ever, in color since mostly what we use the printer for is scanning documents, printing work documents, etc. and so we have not, in many years, needed to print in color. So this MFC by Brother fits the bill. It would just probably be an added expense and so I don't really feel like we missed out on anything by getting a Black & White only printer vs. getting a color printing version. So is it a con or a drawback? Not really. I feel like it is a plus because it means the price per sheet will stay low.
Conclusion:
So if we had to do it over again would we get this Brother printer? Absolutely we would! I have trashed the 2 other rival printers I was using before and replacing them with this single Brother MFC-L2900DW and we are not looking back one bit!

I’ve been using the Brother Black & White All-In-One printer for a few weeks now, and it has truly exceeded my expectations. As someone who works from home and needs reliable, high-quality printing, this printer has been a game-changer.
The print quality is superb, with sharp and clear monochrome prints every time. Whether I'm printing text documents or scanning important paperwork, the resolution is consistently impressive. The laser technology ensures that even the smallest details come out crisp and professional.
One of my favorite features is the wireless connectivity. Setting it up on my home network was a breeze, and now I can print directly from my laptop or smartphone without any hassle. The Wi-Fi Direct feature is particularly handy when I need to print something quickly from my phone.
The multifunctionality of this machine is another big plus. It’s not just a printer but also a scanner, copier, and fax machine. The auto-duplex printing saves time and paper, which I really appreciate. The speed is also commendable, handling large print jobs efficiently without slowing down.
The design is compact, and it fits perfectly in my home office without taking up too much space. The build quality feels solid and durable, which gives me confidence that it will last for years.
Overall, the Brother MFC-L2900DW is a fantastic all-in-one printer that delivers on every front. I highly recommend it for anyone in need of a reliable and versatile printer. Five stars!

So to start off i have a couple black and white only printers and it's because i do mainly black and white printing and it saves me a ton of money when I'm not needing to buy color cartridges and black only to use the black and have the color cartridges end up not getting used and then when i go to print anything down the road said color cartridges seem to dry up and i have to go buy another color cartridge just to print black and white only. So this solves any issues i had because i only have to buy a toner cartridge and it's a powder so no worries about it drying up on me and i can get thousands of prints vs hundreds with a little black ink cartridge. Set up was a piece of cake all you have to do is either scan the code on the front of the printer and it takes you to the download page. Install the software and follow the prompts and install was completed within about 5 min or so, super easy. You can print from your computer or cell phone and that is super convenient vs having to send the print job to your computer first. The print quality is great for black and whit jobs no complaints of any kind from me with the machine in general with the ease of setup to the quality i was very happy. One last note it has a color display vs the black or monochrome so a nice little touch. If you are looking for a high quality fast printer with lots of options look no further this is the printer you want to go with.

This Brother MFC-L2900DW all-in-one laser printer is replacing a printer I’ve had for about two years, but I got tired of having subscriptions, so glad I got this one. Here is a quick breakdown of some of my favorite things.
Easy and Fast Setup
Setting up the Brother MFC-L2900DW was a super-fast and easy. From unboxing to doing my first test print, it took no more than 15 minutes. There was a small update but that was also quick. Once I connected it to my Wi-Fi, I was able to quickly find the printer on my network and start printing immediately.
Affordable and Cost-Effective
I’ve only had it this for about 2 weeks, but I can already say that compared to my old printer, one of my favorite things about this printer is that I saw how much the toners are and they aren’t way more affordable than my other printer. In fact, my other printed had a subscription attached to it which I dislike from day one. While it doesn't print in color, it is perfect for my needs since I mainly print in black and white, so this trade-off helps keep ongoing expenses down.
Fast and Efficient
I don’t believe my previous printer was a laser printer because I can tell there is a huge different in speed. This printer is incredibly fast, especially for a home office setting. Whether I’m printing large documents or scanning multiple pages, it handles everything efficiently. It makes me feel like I am printing at the printing machine at the actual office!
Overall, if you need a fast, reliable, and affordable printer for your home office, the Brother MFC-L2900DW is an excellent choice! I highly recommend it

This is my first printer from Brother and I have to admit I've been rather impressed.
Out of the box setup is simple and almost too easy. One minor complaint of the out of box experience is that while a phone cable is included, for those folks stuck in the 1990's I guess, a proper printer cable is not. If you're not including a printer cable why include a phone cable. Fewer and fewer people now and days have a land line at all. As mentioned this is pretty much a minor complaint.
Once you've setup your printerit's pretty much follow the included quick start instructions and you're ready to print, copy, scan, and fax to your hearts content. There is a downloadable app that enables you to print from your computer, phone, or tablet and it is fairly easy to use. Print speed is on par with other laser printers I've used in the past from other manufacturers but the real difference is the print quality. One word to describe it: exceptional. Print is crisp and easy to read. Scans are on average for an all-in-one setup and is very serviceable. Overall I feel that this is an outstanding all-in-one laser printer.

Brother’s MFC-L2900DW is a great multifunction printer, suitable for either home or small office. Provided that color printing is not a priority for you, this multifunction printer/copier/scanner/fax covers just about all the bases, offering plenty of features along with ease of use.
I use laser printers extensively in my work environment, but have generally used inkjets at home. I’ve generally been fed up with those, despite their easy color printing, as most of the recent ones I’ve dealt with have been cantankerous to deal with. So this Brother laser printer has been a pleasant surprise with its no-fuss approach to getting the job done.
Compared to an inkjet, the setup is amazingly simple. Other than unpacking, there’s little else to do but load paper, install the toner cartridge (which takes mere seconds), plug it in and start the setup process on the software side. Although printing from mobile is easy–more on that later–the initial setup is best done on a computer. Run the setup software to install drivers and quickly configure wireless, and you’re up and running into no time.
Printing is very fast, both the actual print time and what I’d call the latency–the time between sending the print command and the printer actually commencing to print. As is typical of laser printers, text clarity is excellent and razor sharp. It’s not a photo printer, really, but a black and white photo printout was just satisfactory, but that’s not really what this about.
I was impressed with the document feeder’s speed and document handling. I loaded it up with pages to copy that had been both folded up in an envelope and interspersed pages that were flat, so the papers didn’t fit flatly together. It handled all of that well and pulled them all through without difficulty, with the copies speedily dealt with. On the flatbed scanner, it did a respectable job of scanning a photo at 300 DPI.
The large touch LCD screen on the front is easy to read and navigate. It gives access to all of the printer’s functions and settings. I found it responsive, but most importantly to me, the icons were all nicely sized, with nothing ridiculously tiny, which is something I have encountered before.
Of course, you can use a mobile device to manage the printer. The Mobile Connect app allows for features such as scan to mobile, which worked very well, and printing from the mobile device. I liked that I was able to print while on the mobile network without being connected to wifi.. I did, however, run into difficulty selecting some documents in the app to initially print–the preview took forever or wouldn’t load in some cases. Patience, or closing the app and starting over, usually led to success, but this part of the app could perhaps get a little better. An unfortunate part of the software is the very persistent request to subscribe to toner replacement–at least on the app I was able to remove that off the main screen.
Overall, I am extremely pleased with this printer. It’s really fast, prints text beautifully, does a good job scanning and copying, and the document feeder did a great job. The Mobile Connect app adds some good features, even if one of them was just slightly buggy at times. If monochrome printing is good for you, then this really does cover all the bases for a small or home office: it’s a great machine. Recommended.

TL;DR:
1. SETUP: It was simple and without any hiccups or issues
2. USE: It’s faster than my older Brother and HP printers. It’s also straightforward and easy to use
3. USABILITY: It works well and is clean
4. OVERALL: It works well and I’m happy I tried something new
This is the second Brother I’ve used in the last year or so. 99% of my printing is done in black and white, so this was a perfect choice. The set-up was easy and straight forward. Everything works fine right out of the box. It’s physically a large printer, but prints quickly in good quantity and you don’t need to replace the paper all that frequently.
The Print, Copy and Scanning speeds are good. The print quality is clean, too. It works extremely well for my light to medium printing needs.
I use it to print via Wi-Fi from my MacBook Pro, iPad, iPhone, Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, and Asus Chromebook. They all work seamlessly.
Another nice bonus is that printer cartridges or Brother’s “Refresh Subscription” make the ink a lot less expensive than with the other brands of printers.

I have almost always had good experience with Brother printers. For black-and-white volume prints, you definitely should go with laser printers. Enter the Brother MFC L2900DW. This is another quality printer from Brother and I think it should handle a small office's needs very well.
From the get-go, you should understand what your needs are for a printer. If you need color prints, then this black-and-white laser printer is definitely not for you. While there are color laser printers out there, typically the ink printers do perform better for quality color prints. However, if you need black-and-white prints and alot of them, then this printer should be on your short list. Setup was par for the course. Honestly, the design language is so similar across all Brother printers so it's familiar to me.
Let's just jump into performance. This thing can print. FAST. It advertises 36 ppm. I would argue yeah I was getting around that speed when I was really pushing it. For my small business, this was perfect. The print quality was good. Text is crisp. I definitely won't be testing the picture capabilities though.
One thing to note, Brother is also jumping on the subscription train. You can buy a monthly subscription called Refresh EZ Print based on your print needs. I honestly am not a fan of this movement towards everything on Earth becoming subscription based. However, I can imagine for the certain person with consistent print needs that it could be cheaper than buying toner regularly.
All in all, I am happy with the Brother MFC L2900DW. For a small business, it definitely can be on your short list.

This Brother MFC-L2900DW is a versatile, all-in-one monochrome laser printer designed for small offices or home use.
Design and Build Quality
This MFC-L2900DW has a compact and functional design, making it great for any environment with limited space. Its’ simple yet elegant black and white color scheme gives it a professional look which will fit in nicely in any setting. The build feels solid and well made, ensuring durability over time. The control panel is simple, intuitive and straightforward, featuring a small display and a set typical function buttons for easy navigation and operation.
Print Quality and Performance
As a stand-alone black and white laser printer, this MFC-L2900DW fires out sharp and clear text, which is essential for any document-heavy tasks like printing reports, invoices, or text-based files. The printer's resolution of up to 2400 x 600 dpi ensures that small fonts and even images are rendered crisply and clearly.
The printing speed is another highlight, capable of producing up to 27 pages per minute (ppm). This speed is quite efficient for small to medium workloads, allowing me to handle print jobs quickly without waiting.
Scanning, Copying, and Faxing
All-in-one functionality equals scans, copies, and faxes at your fingertips as well. The flatbed scanner offers a resolution of up to 600 x 2400 dpi, suitable for digitizing documents with great detail. Copying is straightforward and reliable, with the ability to handle multiple pages efficiently. The fax function is a handy feature for some, although less commonly used nowadays, but works well without issue when needed.
Connectivity
Wireless connectivity is a must have for me and obviously a key feature of this MFC-L2900DW printer. It supports Wi-Fi, allowing you to print from multiple devices without needing a direct connection. The printer is compatible with various mobile printing options, including AirPrint, Google Cloud Print, Brother iPrint&Scan, and Wi-Fi Direct, making it convenient to print directly from smartphones and tablets – which I do all throughout my day and couldn’t live without. It is so convenient to be able to print from any device at any time throughout my busy day.
For those who prefer a wired connection or simply using older hardware to feed the printer jobs, the printer also has USB and Ethernet ports. The setup process is simple and user-friendly, anyone with basic networking skills will have no trouble at all following the straight-forward instructions.
Paper Handling
The printer has a 250-sheet paper tray, could be larger, but this is adequate for its intended use. It supports various paper sizes, including letter, legal, executive, and A4. It has a basic manual feed slot which is useful for printing on envelopes, labels, and other specialty media you may want to use. Another heavily used and must have feature for me is the automatic duplex printing. This is always a real bonus, enabling you to print on both sides of the paper, saving time and reducing paper usage. I’m often surprised by some so called “high-end” printers that don’t include this feature, so I’m glad this printer has it built in.
Cost Efficiency
The Brother MFC-L2900DW is economical in terms of both initial cost and ongoing expenses. The high-yield toner cartridges provide a good cost-per-page ratio, making it a budget-friendly option for black-and-white printing, allowing this printer to be a feasible options or home or budget oriented small office applications.
Conclusion
This Brother MFC-L2900DW is terrific choice for small offices or heavy home users who are looking for a reliable, all-in-one monochrome laser printer. It offers excellent print quality, fast performance, and versatile connectivity options. The addition of scanning, copying, and faxing functions makes it a well-rounded device, while the cost efficiency further enhances its long term value.

Unboxing:
I took out the printer, cartridge, and power cable. There was a quick start guide included that was quite easy to follow. Basically, you just have to remove some blue and orange plastic. Then install the printer cartridge. Finally power it on.
Next there was a QR code to scan which took me to the app store for the brother mobile connect. Then it prompts you thru the setup. Connects to the Brother L2900dw and allows you to enter your wireless network password. Then it prompts you to login/create a brother account. After that I was prompted with a firmware update. Then I had to change the default password on the back of the machine. I recommend writing this down on your phone’s notes app or somewhere safe. Finally, I was setup to print.
Use:
The machine prints fast and very crisp for monochrome. I sent several print jobs, and the printer was done by the time I walked into the office. My other ink-based printer would still be printing. Then I tested the print document and photo from my phone, and it was fast and the prints where very clear. I pushed scan to phone on the Brother L2900 and it sent it to a scan history section of the app. From there I saw a very clear color scan. I could then save it to my phone or share anyway you can share a file on the iPhone. I went to mw Windows laptop and added the printer since it was discovered easily. The printing here was fast and clear. Finally, I copied, and it was very easy and fast from the included Auto Document Feeder. The 2-sided printing was fast and did not seem to slow down the output.
In summary, I think this is a great multi-function machine that solves all the basic printing/scanning needs if you do not have a need to copy/print in color. Also, there is a subscription service you can enable that includes your toner for a fee, but I found the price and life of the toner cheaper for me to just buy as needed for my use case.

The MFC-L2900DW is a solid black and white printer.
Set up was easy enough. I am not a fan of having to install an app to use a printer, and fortunately, the 2900 does not make you do so. Now, that being said, more advanced functions will require an app installed on a phone. For the purposes of testing, I started first by connecting the Brother 2900 to the network using the built-in touch screen. It was seen automatically on the network, and I was able to connect and print easily from both IOS and Windows products.
Print speed is good. During testing, I was getting well over 30 pages per minute. The 2900 has an external auxiliary tray that can be used to feed heavier duty paper like card stock. My wife is an elementary school teacher and regularly uses our printers to print out hand outs, homework, and visual aids. A printer that prints cheap as well as is reliable is essential. The 2900 fits the bill nicely. Print cost comes out to right around 0.02 cents each, which is reasonable. Toner cartridges are easy to find, in particular aftermarket ones which come at a significantly cheaper cost.
Of course, the 2900 also has scan and fax capabilities. While I do not have a need for faxing, scanning and saving was simple and easy.
Overall, if you are looking for a monochrome printer capable of printing large amounts of copies at a high speed and inexpensively, as well as scan and fax, this is the printer for you.

The Brother MFC-L2900DW Wireless Black-and-White All-In-One Laser Printer is a great printer for your home and office needs. The printer is well packaged and everything is laid out in an easy to set up process. It includes a quick start guy with easy to follow instructions. The quick start guide as well as a removable sticker on the printer has a QR code that directs you to the App Store to download the Brother Mobile Connect app. I ran into one minor glitch during the setup process. The app gives instructions on searching for your printer. Unfortunately, it was not able to locate it. It then said I could manually enter the IP address. What I ended up doing instead was connect the printer to my wireless network using the touchscreen display on the printer. After the printer was connected to my home WiFi, I then went back to the app and it was able to easily locate the new printer. The mobile app allows me to scan documents from the printer that are sent to the my mobile device, print documents, as well as adjust certain settings. The print speed and quality from the included toner cartridge was fast and accurate. The sheetfed and flatbed scanner does a good job of scanning documents. I have to make sure the paper is perfectly aligned when using the sheetfed scanner. I was scanning a document which was not perfectly straight. The printer pulled the paper through and the edges of the document were ripped and torn. The sheetfed scanner can also do duplex scanning. When using duplex scanning to scan front and back of a document, the scan speed is rather slow and the printer is rather loud while doing so. The printer can also be used as a fax machine and it includes a telephone cable. Overall, this is a good laser printer that will handle all of my office needs.

I was really looking fopprward to receiving, testing and reviewing this Brother MFC-L2900 B&W Laser All-in-One printer as I had a black and white laser printer in the past but gave it up as it couldn't print two sided copies without me manually taking the one-sided prints and reinserting them to print on the backside. Fortunately that is not the case with this Brother printer.
As soon as the Brother Laser printer arrived, I had it unboxed and ready to setup in very little time. Before printing with it, the printer had me connect it to my Wi-Fi system (wired connections are also supported with a cable included for that purpose with the printer.) Once connected to the internet, the Brother printer checked in with Brother's support site to download any updates to the software and firmware that might be available. The setup was the easiest and smoothest process I have ever experienced with a printer. Brother has done a great job with this aspect of its printer!
The Brother MFC-L2900 Laser printer is an all-in-one machine that prints, copies, scans and faxes. I found it to be very well built, quick to print, copy, and scan (did not test faxing) and the quality of its output was exactly what I was hoping for. Brother provides a one year warranty and phone support for the life of the product! Brother needs the Model and serial numbers to activate the warranty. As both required numbers are on the back of the machine, it is best to write them down before setting up the printer.
The Brother MFC-L2900 B&W Laser All-In-One Printer is a great machine! Do not hesitate to buy it.

I've owned dozens of printers throughout my life. Some were good, some were bad and some have been great. I put the Brother MFC-L2900dw printer in the great category. I regret having purchased my last printer from the [former] leader in the space. It needed constant cleaning and adjustment to work. My experience with past printers from Brother have been great. This new Brother printer is also great.
The printer arrived without damage as it was well-packaged. Setup with ok despite the need to reboot a couple of times to get a proper connection with my WiFi. The main use for this printer is to print and scan documents. I don't have much need to print envelopes. This may be the only negative on this printer as the envelope feed is in the back of the printer.
Once I was up and running, my first few test pages printed quickly (very fast). I forgot how fast a laser printer can be. I also connected to the Brother app and tried a few documents from my phone. No issues printing from the phone either. I also tested card stock paper. Some printers bog down if the paper isn't document paper. The Brother printer handled my card stock easily.
I do wish this printer had color capability but the price and speed of this printer outweighed my need for color.
This is a great printer for the price.

Fantastic small office/home office printer

The Brother MFC-L2900DW is a great printer for a small business or home office. This printer is a full featured laser printer, scanner, copier, and fax machine. Unlike many other brands, Brother has made this printer very serviceable to guarantee less e-waste and a longer life, by keeping the drum as a user replaceable part. You can get toner cartridges in 1200 page and 3000 page capacities to go along with the 15,000 page lifespan of the replaceable drum. On top of that, Brother doesn't use any kind of DRM for their toner cartridges so you have more flexibility on refills and replacement than some other brands.
The Brother iPrint and Scan software is easy to use for the average person and makes it relatively simple to scan documents to your PC or print them with different quality and layout settings. Brother also makes things easier for small business IT personnel to manage multiple printers on a network with tools available free on the support site for the printer. As someone who has had to support deployments of a few small printers for remote offices and doctor offices, these Brother printers are a great deal. You don't get full enterprise grade management capability but you get quite a bit for a low price.
I would definitely recommend the MFC-L2900dw to anyone needing a light to medium duty office printer.
