It was easy to set up and put the toner in. The installation on the computer was also very easy. As an IT person, speedy and low-hassle setup is always needed for clients. From when I unloaded this from my car to when it was printing the test page, no more than 15 minutes had gone by. My only complaint is it was a little difficult to get out of the box. To be fair, though, it was very well packed and secure so I didn't really mind much. After all, that's why they make box cutters, right?

After first week fails

I loved this product at first. This is my fist Brother device. The first 10 pages or so were great, black and white, colors very crisp. Easy to set up, air print and all. I thought this thing rocked. The next 10+ were and are terrible. All pages were printed with a black/grey tinge to them. I followed all instructions to clean the inside, the cartridges over and over again to no avail. Original, new & certificatied Brother Cartridges in use, no cheapos. I really wanted this to be great, but it not. I am returning this as soon as I can and avoiding Brother in the future.

Average Printer— but large!

I was long frustrated with HP, used Brother product for my small office team where-in we use Apple for the security and convenience. One day in an emergency a HP printer failed. We went to local office supply store and bought another lower-end B&W model for emrgency job. No problems since. I have been buying Brother products since, no issues. They put the money where their mouth is and it works and I am happy and less stressed running my business. Happy to endorse!

A little over 1,700 pages, about half and half on black and white vs color. I had to replace the black toner once, but the others are still going. I just checked, and the colors say 20-30% life remaining, so it looks like I'll get about 1,000 color pages from each of them. I bought some third-party cartridges and have been using the black with no problem.
