I agree the printer is heavy and getting it out of the box was difficult. Setup on the other hand was easy and wifi connection painless. I am using 24 bond paper and printing color two sides. The printer is flawless and I disagree with another review that black was purple. The printer is quick and much quieter than an ink jet. It does slow down with duplex printing due to the extra paper handling. This is not a photo printer but color is more than adequate for fliers and notices. The scanning is also duplex which is great for me. NFC is available as is printing from a phone or the cloud. The printer also includes a version of Paperport for OCR use. I wish I had this printer when I had my office. It may be overkill for home use but no ink to dry out. The toner has starter cartridges with about 1200 pages because Brother wants to start selling refils asap.

the sales rep miss lead me in away by not telling me that the unite would print pictures on 81/2 x11 sheets of paper BUT NOT on photo sheets like 5x8 . DAM him --he did not lie --me just did not tell me every thing. WATCH OUT DEALING WITH BEST BUY THEY PLAY GAMES TO MAKE A SALE.

Decent printer doesn’t catch heat transfer paper too well though.

Bought this to use in a mini office space. This printer will take few minutes loading the document and print after minutes. Did many trouble shooting steps. Even connected directly using a printer cable. Did not help.

Horrible experience twice now. Avoid at all cost. This is my 2nd attempt with one of these devices. I.e., two in a row are horrible machines. Returned the first do to yucky printing. But a secondary consideration was you had to wake it up to print via wifi. With this next one, you have to type in the wifi password, hope it connects, then try to print. I spent a total of three hours with it and still it will not stay connected to wifi. too costly to purchase for a small office - too costly to replace ink toners (100% too high!) - and isn't even a good machine, as far as being user friendly. We let our office manger select and purchase this, and as soon as she left - a few months later - we replaced it with an normal HP inkjet all in one - like we've always used at home, and it is 200% better all the way around (cost to purchase, cost of inkjet cartridges, and user-friendly), plus it is only 1/3 the size of this "Moby Dick" white-whale of a printer!

Scanning was not automatic required several extra steps

The Brother MFC-L3770CDW is a high-end, wireless, multifunction printer designed to operate in a mixed home or small business environment. The device works with Windows, Mac, and Linux computers as well as IOS and Android portable devices. It includes the following unique features: - Touch display control panel - Color duplex printing, scanning, and copying - NFC printing and scanning - Fax capabilities - Access to cloud storage options like Dropbox and Google drive The device was very easy to set up. After unboxing and plugging it in, I went directly to the touch display panel where I entered my information for my wireless network. It quickly connected and from that point I was able to print wirelessly without the installation of any other drivers from my Windows 10 and Mac 10.13 notebooks, my IPhone 7 Plus, my Samsung Galaxy Note 8, and my 2017 IPad. Brother also offers additional drivers and programs on their website, but they were not necessary for the device to work properly. The printer is rated at approximately 25 pages per minute. Although I did not test the speed, the color printing and scanning seemed very fast and quiet. Print quality was also excellent. The device does NFC print and scanning. Touching the phone to the MFC-L3770CDW opens up the Brother IPrint and Scan application. I tested this with my Note 8 phone and was impressed with the results. I highly recommend the MFC-L3770CDW for anyone looking for a high quality, multifunctional printer that is both economical and easy to use.

This printer has given us nothing but problems since day one. The drum keeps giving us errors and we get a random shut of and restart error as well.

Worse printer. It states on the front that it will take cartridges TN227 or TN223 well the TN223 are smaller and will not fit in the spaces. I spent a lot of money on the cartridges and now can't return them. This is the last thing I will buy of Brothers and in Best Buy. I waited too long to use my new cartridge and now I can't return them. Money wasted that I don't have.

Very disappointed. Continually shuts off in between printing, will not re-establish connection.

Total crap! Don't buy it. Since purchasing, I continually have very poor print quality, smudging and roller marks. Brother has already had to send out replacement toner cartridges and I constantly have to fuss with this stupid printer. All I ask for in a printer is that it prints cleanly, every time, all the time. Apparently that is too much to ask for from Brother. I'm beyond irritated. My company depends on printing legal document for my clients; this printer should never be purchased by anyone for any purpose except maybe target practice.

I have become increasing frustrated with ink jet printers over the last few years due to terrible build quality and/or software and of course the cost of the ink. It seemed I was constantly re-installing the software as the printer would not activate after going “off line”, or wasting ink needing to “clean” the heads as they had dried since last printing. As such I had been considering a color laser printer for a couple of years and jumped at the chance to review this one. This printer checked all of the boxes I was looking for; Grayscale printing - (2400 dpi (fine) – 600 x 600 dpi (normal) Color Printing – (2400 dpi (fine), 600 x 600 dpi (normal) Automated duplex printing Scanner – 19200 x 19200 dpi interpolated 1200 x 2400 dpi (scanner glass) 600 x 600 dpi (from adf) Copier – 600x 600 dpi Fax – I didn’t use this function 2 trays (tray 1 (for everyday printing, normally 8 x 11 paper) and MP (multi purpose – 4 x 6 photo, other page sizes, etc.)) Wireless/ethernet/usb connections. Be advised it does NOT include a USB cable though. Given its speed, options and not having to deal with the frustrations of an inkjet I feel this unit is well worth the cost for personal home use and certainly excellent for home businesses. In the box are; Instructions (basic) Power cord about 5 feet. It has NO cumbersome brick, but is not low profile where it plugs into printer (not 90 degree). 4 toner cartridges (black, cyan, magenta and yellow Telephone line cord Total dimensions 16.1” width, 16.3” height, 20” depth and weight of about 53 lbs. As such I wasn’t able to use in same space as prior inkjet printer. You really need to be able to easily access the back of the printer so I wound up getting a metal shelving unit with wheels from home depot to place it on. Positives; I would suggest going to Brothers website and downloading 675 page documentation as there is a LOT this printer can do and has many adjustments which in no way is touched upon in provided basic documentation. Was easily unpacked but at 50 lbs I wound up cutting open the side of the box and sliding out. Once out of the box I used the “handle” indentations at bottom of each side for better grip. Couldn’t have been easier to setup. Once I got all of the printer packing tape off and the cartridges seated properly. I initially setup using hard wired ethernet connection but wound up using wireless so I could move printer around if need be. In both cases the DVD installation software found the printer, updated itself to latest version and was ready to go within 5 minutes. I also set up 2 other windows 10 computers and both were done in just a few minutes. Has a pretty large color touchscreen. You can do a lot of adjustments using this and it is pretty intuitive but I found it a tad touchy when trying to scroll. Luckily there are up/down/side arrows which I found easier to use to navigate by. Easily accessed USB 2.0 port in front to allow printing from thumb drives, etc. This also has NFC “touch to connect” print and scan from your phones if no wifi. Main tray has 250 sheet capacity. Multi-purpose tray has 30 page capacity Every time I opened one of the trays I received an alert stating what paper was loaded and whether I wanted to change it. Also asked if wanted to receive this notice moving forward. I found this a nice feature to make sure you have printer set to correct paper source. I found the duplex printing to be very fast whether using greyscale or color. 2 sided auto copying was very fast as well using the feeder (50 page capacity). Took a few seconds to scan and just a few seconds to print. The print quality very closely matched the original. Scanning worked well producing exact replication. Also has adjustments for resolution, size, etc. If using the plate to scan the feeder tilts up/down as well as expanding upward an inch or so to allow for thicker source such as scanning from a book, etc. Using the MP tray was easy once I figured out how to use the software to access settings (see below in software) In all cases I found the text and pictures printed to be very crisp and clear with no smudging even if using lowest resolution and ink saving option(s). Also, printer is pretty quiet and quickly wakes from sleep mode when sent something to print. Software; For computer; Built in Control Center 4 software which you can select to run at startup and whether to send info back to Brother. Gives you access to run scan/copy/fax as well as adjustments options for each. Brother Iprint&scan software I found to be pretty useless on my desktop as I couldn’t find how to set the correct tray when trying to print. But it does allow direct access to your source rather than having to use 3rd party software. Brothers Utility software has several options and allows deeper dive into printers’ functionality, options and purchasing supplies. From my computer I found it easier if printing from 3rd party software (example – windows 10 photos or word) - was to select print option then select printer options or advanced options. This allows you to select which tray to use, resolution, color or grayscale, duplex, etc. You can also use presets or create your own for next time. Also includes OCR Paperport 14 software which you can decide to install or not during printer software installation. I have used it in the past and found it useful especially converting scanned pages to editable text. For phone (android in my case); Brother Iprint&scan software - I downloaded this app to my android phone – although I did not like all the access it requested. I unchecked sending info on the initial license approval (very bottom document). You can use this to print remotely and I found the print quality to be excellent. But you have to search thru your pictures and select to print them. I also downloaded Brothers Print Service Plugin to my android phone. This allows you to print a picture you may be viewing using gallery, google pictures, etc. I found it useful and again print quality excellent. Both apps streamed to the printer pretty quickly with just a slight delay before printing. 1 year warranty Quibbles; Printed pages, especially 4 x 6, are not the easiest to get to as they are deposited into a “well” in the middle of the printer. You can tip up the entire top of the printer for easier access but then it looks like a car with its hood up and it is noisier. I did notice 2 very small thin “lines” running the entire length of the paper when printing 4 x 6 pictures using HP Premium Plus paper. To me it seemed they were created by the wheels moving paper thru the printer? Not noticeable if looked at straight on – only if tilted. Did not seem to occur using regular paper. Printed documents or pictures were a tad “curly” (not flat). A simple press against a table edge fixed it so just an FYI. Overall, I think this does a lot of things well. Thoughtful design, software and functionality in a very solidly made printer….

Doesn't do as many things as I would like. I would like to be able to crop scanned items before saving them. The quality of some scanned item isn't very good.

I bought this printer for my daughter. It has never printed clearly like my hp. It has red lines in the margins. She has cleaned the screen and the lines continue.

Thought I was getting a quality printer but I find reviews deceiving as most are from Best Buy techs. Print quality at first was just reasonable for first month but now print quality is streaky garbage. Brothers suggested solution is replace drum. I doubt this unit has no more than 500 copies and drum that was suppose to support at least 1,300 copies. Can't find how to check actual print count. I find this strange and not at all acceptable. Would have given this a zero if possible.

Purchased over a year ago based on several online review sites. Was hoping this would be better than my 10 year old Canon inkjet. Wrong! Standard text is fine but any color graphics are very poor quality and blotchy. Colors are also very inaccurate without any way to calibrate properly. Very disappointing considering I paid to upgrade to color laser. Also consumes massive amounts of toner, costing way more than the inkjet.

Best Buy did a great job. Brother on the other hand has a lot to learn regarding customer service. The black toner cartridge leaked out of the box and Brother would not replace it. I don't use the printer very much so it took a while to realize there was an issue and because it was outside of the 90 day window, they would not replace it. There were only 200 pages printed. I can't believe it. No discounts, no nothing...just have to buy a new one. UNBELIEVABLE. Money well wasted.

Worse Brother printer I have ever purchased. Cannot even update the software because of a Brother software problem.
