Customers are saying

Customers highly value the MFC-L3770CDW Wireless Color All-In-One Laser Printer for its easy setup, print quality, and quiet operation. They appreciate the convenience of wireless printing and the reliability of the machine. However, some customers find the toner replacements to be expensive and the printer to be bulky and heavy.

    First Impression - Great Printer

This has to be the easiest printer to setup and configure that I have ever owned. I had it out of the box, setup, connected to my wireless network and printing/scanning within 30 minutes. I have gone through a series of test prints and scans and all is working perfectly. I will report back after some extended use.

    Money Saving Ink Idea

Money Saving Ink Idea: The MFC-L3770 printer Basic Color/Mono default setting for printing is "Auto". If you have an MFC-L3770 or when you get you get one, make sure that you set the Color/Mono printer preference to Mono for most of your printing. Otherwise, the 3 color inks will all be used to print black and run out much faster than the black, an expensive way to print black at about $70 a cartridge. We've only used ours for home printing, almost always just black, for about 2 years or less and 80% of the black is still left while yellow needs to be replaced and the other two colors look like they will need to be replaced very soon. Change the setting to auto if you need to print color. The default setting seems like a money making setting for Brother to me.

    Unbelievable quality, Unbelievable printer

The Brother MFC-L3770CDW Wireless Color Printer is almost effortless. It knows when a document is to be printed on both sides. The color printing is very good, especially for a small office printer.

Bad toner cartridge hides bad drum problem. $120

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I bought this printer for $440 from Best Buy as I had a monochrome printer that works great from Brother. this machine has not worked correctly from the start. Prints came out with a gray haze over the entire print and sometimes streaks despite repeated cleaning. I had surgery and other issues and was unable to spend the time to contact Brother. When I did it was still within the three months warranty period for the drum. They determined that I had a defective black toner cartridge and sent me a new one. It took about two weeks to get it. The print was vastly better but still had three black dots on every page. I again tried to clean it myself and hoped it would self correct but it didn't. I contacted brother again 9 DAYS PAST THE 90 DAY WARRANTY and this time they determined that there is an imperfection with the $120 drum and its my tough luck - past warranty. I could not have seen this previously as the bad toner cartridge hid this drum problem and I did complain within the 90 days originally. THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS.

I hate this printer so much. It has never really worked 100%. Everything that prints comes out with streaks. I have cleaned and followed all of the troubleshooting. I give up. I'm going to have this "accidentally" get dropped and broken so I can go buy something else.

Excellent on my Win 7 and 10 computers. Sucks on linux computers; if it prints, it takes 2 to 3 minutes. Have uninstalled and reinstalled 4 times.

Brother no longer allows use of third-party toner

    Posted .

I bought this item in January 2021 to replace an earlier Brother model which ran seamlessly using third-party toner cartridges for six years. After turning off the power to this new unit one time in November 2021, I am getting the error message "No toner" even though all four cartridges have plenty of ink. The Brother customer service rep tells me that the message will not go away until I buy four authentic Brother toner cartridges which will cost me $320. Internet research suggests that 1) buying authentic Brother cartridges doesn't always fix the problem and 2) there is no "hack" or work around to allow me to continue to use much cheaper third-party cartridges. I used to recommend Brother both because of its customer service and because it was inexpensive to operate. Not anymore. I will probably buy an Epson EcoTank next instead. Caveat emptor.

Brother strongly recommends that customers use only Brother Genuine cartridges for optimal results. Using non-Brother supplies may affect the hardware performance, print quality and machine reliability. The Brother limited warranty may not apply to any problem that is caused by the use of third-party supplies. Brother

I had the 3770 for only 3 years and it prints with a black smudge. We have clean it according to the instructions but it won't go away. This started about 3 months ago.

    Don't run out of toner...

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

This printer is decent. Decent quality, fast print time, responsive. However, it blows through color toner like a kid in a candy store, and if you run out of one color toner, it will not let you print at all, not even monochromatic. For a printer to hold you hostage until you replace a cartridge you don't need is ridiculous. Would not buy again.

We are sorry to hear that you are experiencing issues printing in monochrome mode with your Brother MFC-L3770CDW printer when the color toners are empty. This printer allows you to print with the black toner only when the color cartridges are empty. Power problems less than 3 years old

Brother MFC-L3770CDW Laser Color Printer. This printer keeps track of your COPY COUNT and forces you to change toner cartridge long before it is actually empty and of course they want you to buy the expensive Brother OEM. You can bypass this lock using a special key code entry I found on Youtube. I never purchase overpriced Brother Ink. *Another major defect is electrical power problems in les than 3 years ownership. The printer will no longer turn on. I have tried every possible solution I could find. It is obviously a manufacturing defect due to all the Bloatware and Censors designed to make you purchase expensive Brother products. This product is a a low quality bad buy. I do NOT recommend wasting your money buying Brother products. If you do make sure to purchase extended warranty service.

    HORRIBLE

Total waste of money! DO NOT BUY this trash piece of equipment. Terrible print quality with vertical dark lines and smudges. Once, I was able to speak to a real person for a minor problem but have been totally unable to get help with the poor print quality. Have called three times and was hold for 90 minutes before I hung up the phone, Following the suggestions in the manual did not fix the problem. This is a poorly managed company who does not care about service or quality-they just want to sell you equipment and they do not care if it ends up in the trash bin. Oh, and then try to find a service center!
