Good except doesn't scan full US Letter

I have had it for a couple of months and love that it scans quickly in duplex mode. However, I just realized that it does NOT SCAN FULL US LETTTER size. When you scan from the printer or computer for default or US Letter size options, it only scans 8.26 inches by 10.76 inches. Thus, if you want to capture the full size of basically any standard US document, you can't. You could scan at a larger size and manually crop to get the length, but that isn't practical and you still don't get the width. I checked online for the full specifications and buried deep it says the scanner only scans to 8.26 inches! Maybe they only designed it to A4 width size (8.3 in) and to save money didn't make it capable to go the full width of US letter. Regardless, to not be able to scan the full length should just be a software change should be included. For some reason they don't enable a "borderless" scan.

Brother printers are usually outstanding. We’ve had an MFC for quite some time. Very easy to set up, etc. we decided to go with a color laser/led printer. We picked this one up and we’re very excited about all its features. Unfortunately, we had to return it because it was producing a paper jam each and every time we printed. We thought we’d keep it and hopefully it would remedy itself. But, it just kept jamming and not in a good way. The replacement process was very easy. Best Buy allowed me to exchange it with no questions asked. So far it has been performing as expected. I have the product 3 stars because I’m still uneasy about printing and worried it will jam like the other one, again, not in a good way. Hopefully, this one will work out just fine like the other Brother, no pun intended.

I bought this all in one because of features and paid based on what I expected. After setup and updating firmware the nfc no longer will print what is displayed on my smart Samsung phone. The only way to print is to save the image to the phone, then start the Brother iprint app, load the image in iprint, then print. That is not nfc like on other printers I have used. Call to Brother customer service went nowhere. They said the 'workaround' was to use iprint after you save the image. Not what I expected from Brother. All features should work not through back door approach. Poor support so far, Brother would not refund anything even though the printer says it has nfc. Not true! Just another wireless network.

I am enjoying this printer very much. Good quality printing and economical toner replacements, but the setup was ridiculously complex because of firmware updates. I sought help from the Best Buy Geek Squad and it took them 1 hour to get the printer connected to my laptop. That should never be necessary. Very disappointing.

This is a very heavy machine, the color print is not very sharp and the cartridges for each other are very expensive. However, cartridges do last a long time and the printing is fast.

General options/flexibility good. Slow to print when in sleep mode from iPhone wirelessly. Print quality/brightness not as good as my last printer.
