The Best All-In-One I've Ever Had!!Posted .
I have never used a Brother product, but after reading favorable reviews on similar Brother products I decided to give a try. I have always been a fan of separate color cartridges, so I've always purchased EPSON All-In-Ones. They were fine, but I found that they would break down quickly, and it wasn't worth repairing. I bought a HP during one of those Black Friday sales, but it could not meet my printing demands and we were replacing the ink all the time (at least 4 times in less than 2 months). I've only had the Brother for a day, but already I'm a big fan of what it can do and how it does it. There are so many features that are very easy to use. The only problem I had was with the Initial Setup. The first error message I got stated that it was not Certified for Microsoft Window for my operating system (which it was, but for some reason could not recognize it). After another attempt at installation, it was compatible but then I would get stuck at the screen that prompts me to connect the USB to the computer and the printer. It would recognize the new hardware, but would not continue with installation. Finally, I used the Repair the Software button in the initial setup, and that worked fine. Now that I have it installed and all set up, I absolutely love it. I love how quiet it is, and how quick it prints. I really love the price, especially for a printer with all these features. One of the big selling points on this printer was the separate ink cartridges - you only replace the color you need. I can tell you from experience that feature is a cost savings. What a great buy!!I would recommend this to a friend

Great PrinterPosted .
I bought this printer primarily for it's ability to print 11x17. It is loaded with features. The print speed is really good I printed 20, 11x17 pages in about a minute and a half. The copy function creates clear reproductions. I printed a 4x6 photo and it looked better then the prints that I've sent off to be professionally printed. The multiple memory card readers are great for previewing photos with out your computer. The other great feature is that instead of being tethered to the scanner with a USB cable all the features work flawlessly over my in home network. It also have a huge memory so it can hold many faxes of the printer runs out of paper. The one thing that is a bit tricky is adjusting the print tray from one sheet size to another. The clips are not real solid and it takes some adjusting to get the paper in tight. Once you figure it out the tray is fine though. One last nice thing is that the replacement cartridges are reasonably priced and you can buy the color cartridges separately instead of having to replace the whole thing just because yellow is out. I would highly recommend this to any one that needs a low volume high quality printer for at home or home business.I would recommend this to a friend

It was Worth the PricePosted .
i have never even heard of BROTHER until i was in need of a fax machine, a printer, and a scanner. I came across it online and fell in love. It was amazed that i can have all 3 for under $200.00. Although is was slow to print in was very convenient. I used it often to send faxes and never had a problem. I had no glitches and was pleased with how my color photos come out. I love the fact that u can print pictures out with my memory card right from home. No more walmart for me. I'm a happy customer. :)I would recommend this to a friend

Worst Luck ever or something seriously wrongPosted .
I have been a Canon printer user for the past 10 years with absolutely no problems whatsoever. We have a couple of brother B&W lasers at work that seem to work well so I figured I would try this Brother printer for myself. It had all the features I wanted and it was $60 off regular price. I bought the first one Tuesday 9-1-09 and set it up according to the instructions but it wouldn't print black. I went through the troubleshooting process, (all you do is clean the print heads), more than 5 times as recommended but still it would not print black. I returned the first one Wed. 9-2-09 and got another one just like it figuring I just got a lemon, (it happens occasionally). But to my dismay when I got it home and set it up exactly according the instructions, again, same thing, wouldn't print black. Called Brother and they said that it needed servicing, a brand new printer! They were very nice and were going to set me up with a service center but I politely told them I was taking it back and was going to get a different brand. So I took it back to BB and got the Canon MX860 which works perfect. I can forgive one bad apple occasionally but two brand new printers in a row with the same identical problem with no other possible resolution other than taking it to a service center for repairs is ridiculous. I believe they have a problem with these printers and need to do a recall. Anyway my advice is to look elsewhere. No, I would not recommend this to a friend
