My Brother MFC - 736N copier is a work horse, No problems / No jams! The toner, TN450 (high yield) is reasonable priced for the amount of pages produced. Never a problem. If I have a setting question, I call Brother's help line, and specify I need to speak with someone who specializes working with Apple computers, THEN talk with Brother. Very satisfied with Brother's products.

After exasperation with the Epson printer and its low volume ink cartridges, this toner is great - both in volume and in quality.
Yes, it is more but it lasts and lasts. Even after my Brother printer alert claimed it was time for me to change the toner, my friend George at C.W.'s Rockefeller Library showed me how to remove an old toner cartridge and give it a shake to get more toner to "flow." Although it was a little tricky for me to unload and reload the cartridge I am glad I did. I have been printing 2 weeks longer since I followed his procedure without sacrificing quality. Really, are toners that much more expensive? How many times would I have to pay for multiple ink cartridges over one toner cartridge? 10 times at least. So after dollar-cost averaging, I have decided that a less expensive printer that requires more ink cartridges over the same period of time and quantity of printing is more expensive than purchasing a printer that uses toner cartridges. I have my eye on the printer that uses color toner at Best Buy. It may cost more initially but will be less expensive in the long run.

We used to buy regular toner cartridges for our printer (we print a lot), but decided to get a high yield unit to maximize our toner life and limit trips to the store. I ran a report printer report the other day, and I have surpassed 2800 pages. Everything is looking great!
*Home office, mostly full page text printing - obviously B&W.

The brother cartridges are alot more expensive than the off brand but you get what you pay for. The print quality is much better and the yield is better than the off brand ones and I have found less toner dust floating around in the printer using the genuine brother cartridges and most of the generic ones tend to leak some extra toner.

I used to buy the smaller cartridge but it runs out 10x faster and the print quality is not near as clear. I will gladly spend a little extra to have a cartridge last me for a long time and the quality be 65-70 percent better.
