Capable and Small Footprint
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an excellent printer with a small footprint, yet it can fax, scan, copy and print. It can also do 2-sided printing and has a large paper tray capacity of 150 sheets. I did try all the features and it worked flawlessly to scan, fax, copy or print single or double sided. Also you can use NFC connectivity. The setup is simple, it does come with a CD. It is wireless. I thought the printing was less intense than some printers, but there was enough color and I think this will result in more economical ink costs, I’ll keep an eye on this as I use it more. I like the online manual at https://download.brother.com/welcome/doc100738/cv_dcp772dw_uke_rg.pdf it is worth downloading. It does come with a quick reference and a nice user guide, but having the quick lookup online is easier. Note on this printer you place the documents face-down on the scanner glass or in the document feeder to scan. You may miss the fact that you can put several pages into the document feeder not just one page – it is so compact that you might think its capacity was only single feed. In addition it has a feature that you might overlook but is handy. This feature is the single page manual feed in the back of the printer. It’s useful if you are using decal paper or other specialty papers and don’t want to use your main paper tray – worked very nicely. It is nice to load the “Brother iPrint & Scan” app to your phone. You can then fax, copy, print or scan to this printer using NFC. For example, you just select a photo, then select to use the Brother iPrint & Scan app and tap the icon on the left side of the machine and it will print your photo – neat. The plastic parts on this printer seem a little fragile but the new plastics are very strong so I feel it should be durable. I do recommend this printer at this price point for those who want a full function printer with a smaller footprint and not short on technology.

Great inexpensive inkjet printer/scanner/fax
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm a current Brother printer user. I have the MFC-J4620DW and I'm really happy with it. It's hooked up to my main desktop via lan/usb/wifi. So when I got the MFC-J895DW, I knew it was going to work for me. I set it up tonight with the intention of running my laptops and mac mini to it wirelessly. I first tried my main desktop and it couldn't see it. I checked the settings in the printer and tada, I needed to setup wifi with my network. After that, I tried again and the software saw the printer. That said, it takes a long time to install the software. I did this one with the cd and once I was finally done, a brother update popped up and I had to update two pieces of software. It did them separately, but really quick. I then installed it on my Windows laptop. I used the download link in the instructions as the laptop doesn't have an optical drive. I figured at least I would be the latest version and could skip the update. Nope, same thing...forever to install and two quick updates. Lastly the mac mini. I have the upgraded 2013 model with the latest Os X Mojave installed. The software was a download from the link in the instructions and it saw the latest operating system with no issue. As is with Macs, it was a much faster install. Once it was done, I opened Microsoft Word and picked a template. I sent it to print and it worked great, but it did have a long lag time. Not sure if that's normal or just a fluke. Either way, at least I now have a dedicated wifi printer to use with these three pcs as well as my Pixel and Android tablets. Lastly, one thing I love about Brother printers is the ink is reasonable. Color ink is around $15 for 500 sheets and black a bit less. One think that this model doesn't have that my old one does it the ability to pay a bit more and buy a cartridge that does 1200 sheets. Bummer, but not a reason to pass on this model. It does however hold 150 sheets in the tray, so that's a plus. If you need a cheap wifi printer, this is a good choice.

Great home or small office printing solution
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Brother - Work Smart Series MFC-J895DW Wireless All-In-One Printer - Black is perfect for a home or small office all-in-on printing solution with many features of more expensive printers. The touch screen is easy to use and navigate the features of the printer. The wireless and WiFi connectivity provides excellent printing options for spaces where wires are not practical. Print via NFC from a smartphone with ease. PROS - Brother name and quality - Easy to use, basically plug and play - 150-sheet tray capacity sufficient for most users - Boasts 12 ppm for B&W, 10 ppm for full color - Nearly full page print coverage available - Auto (2-sided) Full Duplex - Two-year warranty verse the industry standard of one-year CONS - Ink replacement costs - I cannot find a way to expand to bigger tray capacity or second tray (would be a nice feature)

Very frustrating setup
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking forward to all this printer can do. After opening it was well laid out and in about 5 min, I had it setup or so I thought. The final steps were to run the wizard software to setup all the features. This printer does not come with a usb cable but shoukd work no problem when connecting wirelessly. In runnigmng the software, it does not allow you to manually set the IP so unless it see’s the printer then your stuck. I tried wireless, wireless WPS, wired and even put it on a static IP. The device was on my network but the software just would not see the machine. Very frustrated. I proceeded to open the udp ports on the firewall on my laptop and still was not connecting. I finally had to take a break. I attempted to download the printer only drivers and that failed during download. I can print with the generic windows 10 drivers and airprint from my iphone so I know it works but this should work on the pc in all functions.

Great print quality, poor ink cartridge life
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I printed up two photos and less than 100 black and white 1 page documents, and the black ink ran out. The two photos were not very dark. Overall the quality on the two photos were great especially since I printed them up on normal paper. However the fact that the black ink cartridge ran out after two photos and less than 100 pages is a problem for me. The scanner and printer itself work great. It's easy to set up. The input tray and output tray are the same tray, so if you're in the middle of printing something, and you run out of paper, you have to remove the entire tray. It's a nice slick design and overall pretty easy to set up.

Workhorse that's great for home/office use
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The printer offers some great features and capabilities. I had this out of the box, and set up within about 10 minutes so I think most users would be fortunate to do the same. This nice looking unit fits fairly nicely onto a desk with its small footprint and nice design. Brother offers a great array of qualities in this printer, copier, scanner, and fax machine. All the essentials you need in your home office usage and it's been perfect for me. The large 150 sheet tray is large enough for many uses and ideal for home use. In my usage of this printer in my home, I use this for printing documents, forms, coloring pages for a child, and various coupons to be used at retailers. I like the fact that this Brother printer produces sharp lines, precise print quality, and duplex printing for helping me be frugal and save paper when I can. A few unique features I found with this printer that made it stand out for me were the following: - NFC printing. I can bring my iPhone 6 plus up to the printer and similar to utilizing Apple Pay for example, I can get my photo or document to be printed by contacting the Brother printer. Very cool and useful feature. - Also Cloud connectivity. The printer can connect with cloud services, but the ones I utilized were DropBox and GoogleDrive. I have various documents and photos saved to both cloud formats, and was able to access them from the cloud to print. And I was able to use the scanner feature to send my documents to the cloud without printing them out. Overall I feel this printer is a great fit in my home of light office work. The average sized footprint is ideal for my smaller home office area, but it's also a nice looking printer without being too flashy. I have been happy with it so far and I feel that it uses an adequate amount of ink for the jobs I've given it so far. Time will tell how long this ink lasts and then I'll see about the process of getting refills. I recommend this as a no fuss printer that will be just what you need in your space.

Get your money's worth
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted a good, basic all-in-one printer now that I have a college student in the house as she was able to print what she needed at her high school. I needed it wireless and it needed to be able to be accessed from any device in the house. This completely fits that bill at a very reasonable price. There was no problem with the setup and copies come out crisp and clear. I found that the color printing is okay on normal with the colors a bit muted but if you want richer colors, you need to switch it to fine. It's a great printer for the kids to share so you don't have to wait for your things while their 10 page book report is printing. If you print a lot, the ink may get a bit pricey but for normal school and usual home use, it is a good deal.

A solid all in one Brother printer
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Set up was quick and easy. Had no issues printing from my phone and laptop via wireless. Copy and scan function worked very well. Prints that came out were clear and crisp. I wasn't able to test out the fax feature but being a Brother that's been on the business for a while it should work. Overall I'm very satisfied with the printer and it has meet all of our needs.

Welcome home.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Year after year, my husband and I had used another company, and it just seemed time for a change. This Brother Work Smart series looked like a friendly and easy to use wireless option, the cost was in our range, so no harm in trying? My husband did all the installation, the wireless feature gave him no problem, he had a bit of a problem doing a wireless install on a portable scanner before, but this little machine was picked up immediately on our network. Interestingly, the color toners come in individual units. All the buttons are in the right place, the response time from print to finished product is really quick. We don't have a home based business, the fax feature will go unused and untested.

Scanner-printer combo, and FAX...
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As an all-in-one, Brother's MFC is easy to setup and use. It occupies a small footprint yet produces a sharp color or BW print. Scanning is fast and easy with either the scanner glass or via document feeder (15-pages). Similar to other brands, Brother offers cartridges via mail. Either by mail from local stores per page costs are low. Nuance's PaperPort 14 software is included. I've used PP-14 for over 15 years. A great way to scan, store and view your documents. App installation is quick and easy, via NFC on the left side of the printer's panel. Brother's "iPrint&Scan" allows easy and quick printing and scanning to tables or smart phones. Document handling is easy with the document feeder. Setup is quick with built in touch screen video guide (or printed guide).

Good All Around Printer
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Brother continues to dominate the at home printer world. The J895DW is a beast, I gave it a 40 page print job as its first task, printed front and back and it completed it without fail. Well worth the money!

Great small-office/ home-office all-in-one printer
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Brother - Work Smart Series MFC-J895DW Wireless All-In-One Printer is a decent small-office / home-office printer which offers many great features. The 20-sheet auto document feeder on top really comes in handy and I especially like the ability to scan directly to Cloud services such as Google Drive, Dropbox, and OneDrive. The printer is also capable of two-sided printing and copying which is another great feature. Print speed is average and the replacement ink cartridges are a bit pricey so I wouldn’t recommend this printer for large print jobs. Other than that, I think it is a great option for those who are in the market for a reliable all-in-one printer and I highly recommend it!

Prints both sides, but jams on heavy paper
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.OK with regular paper, but jams on anything slightly heavy. Regular glossy printer paper is too much. Duplex printing is nice.

Manual feed flaky
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall I like the printer but the manual feed slot on the back is very flaky. I'll put in a single sheet and the LCD display acknowledges it. I'll hit OK and try to print the page. Most times the printer shoots the unprinted page through and says there's no paper in the slot! I don't know what else to try. Other than this, the printer is great but I'm pulling my hair out on this bug.

Awful!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Regret this purchase completely. It worked well for a few months, and now it's useless. Print quality is terrible, and running the clean function repeatedly does nothing but use up ink. Will not connect to my new computer despite trying everything multiple times. DON'T BUY IT!
