Customers praise the keyboard quality, battery life, and ease of use of this wireless keyboard. They also appreciate the sturdy hinge and improved stability it offers compared to the original keyboard. While some find it adds weight to their Surface Pro, the secure fit and smooth typing experience are frequently highlighted as positive aspects. Overall, the positive feedback on key features outweighs the concerns about added weight.

The keyboard was easy to pair with my Surface. It protects my device and allows me to use it more like a computer when I don't want it in table mode.

I returned this keyboard in favor of the Microsoft Keyboard for the
Surface Pro 4. Where this keyboard is sort of shoved into the Surface 4, the Microsoft Keyboard slides in easily and very easily pulls off from the computer.

I use this daily. The default surface case didn't stand up on its own. This solves that and provides a little more durability.

Very nice keyboard, but with the screen protector there does seem to be a bit of a pinch on the screen.

I buy this so it's easier to type on but it does add some heft. Nothing crazy but I think it is worth it.

Was fond of this one compared to the previous one offered with the Surface Pro 3. 1 Con for this is that it doesn't have the backlight keyboards like the previous versions. Only downfall if trying to use this tablet in the dark.

I like that this turns the surface pro 4 into a laptop, but it's kind of wonky. The tracking pad is horrendous and the on screen keyboard always pops up. I guess I just like that it turns the thing into a laptop.

Get the advantage of the SurfaceBook!

This keyboard really answers a niche for the Surface and Surface Pro that Microsoft themselves should have filled. I've long been annoyed with the floppy keyboard that came with my surface pro for a number of reasons, chief among them the small and poorly placed trackpad, and the inability to use the thing in my own lap.
Enter the Brydge. After examining the device, I have a healthy respect for the hinges. After installing my Surface Pro I have even MORE respect for the hinges. A possible future downside could be that the hinges will need replacement liners, the rubber piece that protects the magnesium surface but allows it to grip firmly. The hinge appears to be well made and should last many many cycles of fold and unfold.
The Brydge keyboard is made from a similar color and feel magnesium metal as the Surface line and fits nicely It honestly looks like a Surface Book except for the large hinges that are visible when open, closed no one would know better. the battery life is reported to be 3 months between charges, I haven't had to charge mine since I gave it a full juice after receiving it.
Backlit keys are an added advantage, with 3 levels of brightness and the glass-topped trackpad is a compromise. It's still hinged at the top like the surface pro is, but is slightly larger and seems to work far better for me. I know I'm less frustrated with it anyway. This is a little pricey for an accessory that is meant to fix a fundamental flaw in Microsoft's design, but I do like it, and would recommend it to others.

The item itself is not very good. The track pad is below average and the keys are rubbery. There is no way to customize touchpad gestures, either. My other problem with this unit is that BB was selling this as "new" not "open box", yet is was clear to me that it had been used and returned. There were pieces missing, the bottom of the unit was dirty/fingerprinted, and someone had put the Brydge sticker that came in the box on the underside of the unit. Not good, BB. I will have to stick with the also-subpar Microsoft Keyboard Cover that came with it.
