Adam Jones (Bradley Cooper) is a chef who destroyed his career with drugs and diva behavior. He cleans up and returns to London, determined to redeem himself by spearheading a top restaurant that can gain three Michelin stars.

    Not that bad

A must see for those interested in the inner workings of a restaurant kitchen and the world of high end chefs. Most people have no clue what it is like to be at the top of the restaurant world or how difficult it is to be in this type of a service profession. The intense pressure they put on themselves to be "perfect". Is the movie a bit disjointed along the way, yes but the acting is stellar and its worth it just to see the food prep and get the overwhelming inside experience. Bradley Cooper is fantastic! Very good supporting actors. Many of them are unknowns. The kitchen scenes are the best. Watching the process and the artistry is a unique peek behind the kitchen doors.

Sometimes it is not what the stort is about, but how well is is executed; that is why while a hamburger is a hamburger its quality depends on the ingredients and the people behind it. This movie is perfectly cast, lavish in its design, cinematography and execution...but saddled with a by the numbers redemption story we may have seen a hundred times, but it still works for me. A good story is still a good story even if it hits a well tread path with almost no risk (kind of ironic given that the Bradley Cooper character us supposed to be a rockstar innovator) but again it manages to entertain and dazzle with suculent dishes. If you are a Bradley Cooper fan then this will do rather nicely and even if you are not this is a perfectly decent if by the numbers movie which will keep you entertained

Although this was not necessarily an original script it still was a good Bradley Cooper character movie. Still had a good supporting cast that made the movie enjoyable. Surprise cameo roles by Uma Thurman and Emma Thompson. But also a surprise role for Matthew Rhys who was terrific outside of his TV American role as Soviet spy.

Even if you don't cook, you'll appreciate the acting from these great actors. Bradley Cooper had a short-lived FOX TV cooking at a restaurant show before, so he was primed and ready for this movie. Once you see him and other cooks in action, you'll appreciate what goes on behind the scenes of any good restaurant. Fast paced and enjoyable.

Among other things, this movie shows the side of detail oriented professionals that people usually missed and took for granted. I love it when the chiefs act like soldiers, and was impressed what it takes for a restaurant to receive a Michelin Star. The plot was simple but very entertaining. Yet, It is not your everyday movies.

    Not what I expected...In a good way

I don't know why, but when this movie was in the theater I thought it was going to be some sort of Rom Com about a guy who was really just a bad chef. I couldn't be more wrong. Well, there were some Rom Com elements to it, but the story was entertaining and the tone was much more serious than I was expecting.

I wasn't sure what to expect from this movie, but we absolutely loved it! If you like Gordon Ramsey, Bradley Cooper is just as insane, loud, and demands perfection. If you like food network shows, you will love this movie! Well acted, good story, and the movie grasps you the whole way through!

This could have been Great, but they went for the cliches and made sure they'd cover the demographics they were told would give them the ticket and dvd sales. And they got a good movie, one that I watched and enjoyed, but not a great movie, not one I'll go back and watch again anytime soon.

Bradley Cooper is a high on his horse chef who has stuff crash around him where he starts to rethink things. This movie is especially good for those foodies who would like to see more of what they see on Food Network. This movie has love of a girl and love of food. Not a bad combo.

I still liked it, though. I was expecting either a clearly dangerous game of thugs trying to prevent his success at starting a new cafe in town or else a really lighthearted piece with a few tense moments, but it was neither.

Nice smart, sexy, fun movie. Interesting article about rise and fall of a business. Must leave bad habits behind, get up and take advantage of second chance given. Sit back and enjoy this emotional story.

I liked Chef and The 100 Foot Journey, both about cooking and the love of food. Burnt is more of the same and well done, too. It has twists and just as you think he's done, something else happens to save his bacon. You feel like Bradley Cooper's character could implode so many times, yet he is someone you can root for and be happy when he does well.

    Not a typical Rom-Com

This is not your typical romantic comedy. This is one of those movies where the characters are flawed and at times unlikeable. I was not expecting it, but I really liked this movie and it kept my interest throughout.

Bradley Cooper never disappoints . Very entertaining film. Sienna Miller also great. And Alicia Vikander is always a bonus. Just like reality TV cooking shows , this gets hot in the kitchen. You'll like it.

I wasn't going to watch this movie because of reviews but then I couldn't resist a food movie. I actually found it very entertaining and thought it was much better than what the reviews have said.
