    Not the worst

I've never actually been hunting nor do I think I would like the actual real life thing, but the idea of huting and shooting lions and tigers and bears(oh my) was too appealing, I had to get the game. The learning curve was actually very long(keep in mind ive never played Cabela's hunting game before nor like to read instructions). My only complaint "I just wish there was more freedom like climb trees and pick off animals like a sniper or something." I keep get eaten and am unable to open up new areas to hunt. I basically stuck only huting wolves, lions and bears, cannot open up worlds to hunt rhinos elephants etc. If your looking for easy gameplay and tons of freedom to unwind after a long hard day at the office get GTA4(totaly worth $60). But if you like a challege and have lots of time to learn try this.

    Good game overall

This is overall a good game. I would recommend it for the price. It may actually go down to twent dollars one day. If it did i wouldn't be suprised. I think the graphics are great and the storyline or campaign is fun. It did seem short is about my only complaint. There are bonus missions which are fun to but they are very short. I liked the ps2 dangerous hunts on the action zone part better than i do this game. This one is alot harder though. The main thing i hate about it is the animals are all the time knocking you down and it gets frustrating. I mean sometimes with in seconds of the action zone starting all of a sudden a animal will knock you over. Its still fun though. definately worth 30 bucks.

    Big disappointment

    Posted .

I had hopes for this game, but they just didn't pan out. Some of the ps2 versions were better by far. There are only a few rifles and 3 pistols( they can be upgraded which was a plus). No shotguns, no bows, virtually no accesories (you get scent cover on most boards and you get to use a blind on one bonus level), you do have a knife but it only comes into play during "mini games" when you are attacked and have to make sixaxis control jerks (which are iffy at best, you perform what your told to and it work about 50% of the time), this was one of the lamest and most frustrating aspect of the game. All I wanted was to be able chose an animal, chose a location, chose my weapons and acessories (you know maybe a tree stand or binoculars)and go hunt how I want to hunt. I don't want to be forced to follow a trail and have not choices. There is no such thing as stalking your prey in this game, everything attacks you. If you want a good hunting game get the original Cabelas Dangerous Hunts for ps2. I don't know if they're just trying to churn these out every year or what, but they can do a lot better.

    GARBAGE!!!!!!!

    Posted .

What is up with the last few Cabela games? Dangerous Hunts 2 (Where you had to follow your Uncle and warp into some silly gateway) was garbage. (At least there was SOME free hunts) But this one is a stinker. I loved the Cabelas games that you could do the free hunts (Buying the hunt tags and A BIG variety of accessories.) I wish they would just stop making hunting games because they're so disappointing. (The PC Platform games are WORSE! ) Please go back to the old way of making hunting games!! PLEASE! If your PS3 can play PS2 games (Some new ones won't. That's another horrible mistake) Get Big Game Hunter, Dangerous Hunts and Outdoor Adventures. Cabelas should never have drifted from this kind of gameplay. I will not buy another unless they go back this way. Their stores have gone downhill too. Don't waste your money. I promise you will be sorry! And there are no refunds after you open them. WASTE OF MONEY! Thanks for reading my book! :)

    Could be better

    Posted .

I think that they could make hunting games so much better. This game has great graphics but basically they mark an area you have to run to and then there is a movie sequence and then you shoot an animal. I like to be able to roam around and find the biggest animal not have marked out trails.

OK game, not very much freedom

    Posted .

This game could have been way better. Pretty much all you do is follow a trail and then you go to a cutscene and then shoot an animal. There really isn't any freedom. Sometimes you have to kill other animals too but I like hunting games where you have to buy tags and go on a real hunt.
