I think it's okay, but the coffee isn't as strong - you should only use medium roast, no dark roast beans in the machine. Overall, I didn't think it was worth the price.

It’s not bad. But it eats through so many beans for barely half an oz of espresso. Even after I used the app to boost it to a 1.5Oz. Still barely comes out with .75 oz Even after trying different water types and temps. Coming from a Nespresso machine I was thinking it would be an upgrade but it’s more of a side step backwards. Think I’ll be getting a more professional one instead.

We are obsessed with this automated espresso machine. It makes everything so easy (once you read through the instructions). Only con is that you can’t switch out the beans easily, so if you regularly switch between decaf and regular you may want to get one of the ones with a separate grinder. But I love that the espresso is done at the touch of one button. Then we steam our milk using the steamer wand. When you first turn it on, it will rinse out, so put a cup under both the main dispenser and the steamer wand. Small amount of liquid, but surprised us the first time. It’s so easy, and with a few syrup bottle purchases, it’s definitely saved us a ton of coffee house purchases!

For this price I expected higher quality grinding, extraction, and build quality. The entire machine is plastic and does not look or feel durable at all. The surfaces will scratch up easily just from daily use. This machine is in a very strange place mainly due to its pricing. It's at least double the price it should be for what you get IMO. It's basically a Nespresso machine with your choice of beans. However, you can't even truly enjoy your selected beans due to the poor grind and extraction of this machine.. The frother is also unacceptable for this price. The app is half-baked and won't detect your device 9/10 times. If you want something easy, just go with a higher-end Nespresso machine and save hundreds. If you really want the full experience, get a proper grinder and a decent machine from an experienced company like Breville. This machine really has no place mainly due to its price. It should also be disclosed on the product page that GE is the parent company of Cafe. Ever see a GE machine used at a good coffee shop? Didn't think so!

It makes perfect espresso and the frother is fantastic! I have a $800 espresso machine that just broke and to get it repaired cost almost as this machine. I think this machine works better than my old one.

My initial impression of this machine is that it is a very sleek and compact. I got the black and copper machine and it looks fantastic in my kitchen. It fit perfectly under my cabinets and does not take up much room. Setting up the machine was very easy - just plug it in, add water and beans, and you’re ready to go. The machine does an auto-rinse when you turn it on at first, so be prepared for some water to come out. It’s a small amount of water, so no big deal. The grinder is a burr grinder and the compartment the beans go in does have a seal on the lid to keep the beans fresh. Unfortunately you can’t change the type of beans until you finish what is in there, so may be difficult if you want to switch to decaf during the day. There are 5 different grind settings that you can manually change in the bean compartment. I’ve kept it at a 1 and it produces a great espresso. It does recommend staying away from oily beans, so make sure you choose the right beans. I’ve used manual espresso machines before and although I love doing it manually, I find myself not using them often because it takes more time. I love this machine because it’s automatic so all you need to do is push a button and it will freshly grind your beans, brew the espresso, and put the waste in a container for you. It makes it so easy, which means I now use it multiple times a day! All of the buttons on the top are touch sensitive. You have options for power, americano, espresso, hot water, steam, and MyCup which you customize in the app. It will also tell you on the top of the machine when you need to empty the waste, add beans, or add water. The nozzle that your coffee comes out of is adjustable vertically so any mugs can fit under it! I use a Contigo coffee cup for work and when I remove the drip tray, it can even fit under it. It also has a light on the nozzle so you can see your espresso as it’s brewing. The steam wand also works well to heat up milk and is removable so it’s easy to clean. Cleaning out the waste is very easy, just a small container behind the drip pan you dump out. Connecting the wifi is pretty simple once you download the app. There’s a few steps involved, but the app directs you on how to do it. Once connected, the app allows you to change the grind time and water volume. For MyCup, you can choose it to be a double or triple shot of espresso or ristretto. The app will also tell you when the machine needs to be descaled. In the box, they send you some supplies to descale the machine properly which is very helpful. Overall, the app wasn’t very impressive to me. I wish there was better customization for MyCup options. I would also love if I could remotely start making a cup or if I could set a time for the coffee to be brewed in the morning. I hope that they will add some updates to the app. Overall, this is a great machine and I would definitely purchase it again. Since I got it, I’ve used it every day, multiple times a day. You get a great cup of fresh coffee with minimal effort and within 90 seconds. I’m very happy with my machine and I would recommend it to others.

Very easy to use for espresso. It walks you through maintenance automatically. The milk steamer is also easy to use. Ideal for simple espresso drinks on the run!

Great product but needs to be cleaned out after every use.

Espresso is good. Most frustrating machine ever. Beans don't go in the shoot without encouragement. It rinses every time so it is constantly out of water and you have to be conscious of which spicket it is coming out of. Now it is stuck on "descale" and it won't work at all

For a $500 machine, quality is very poor. Water isnt hot enough, espresso is bland at best. Design is sleek and elegant, but service and quality of coffee is bad. Water tank placement could be improved as well.

Amazing espresso machine. I seen a few reviews with complications with app. Took the chance since I have no issues with my GE Opal 2.0 and the app. Works great. Love all the customization you can make for each setting.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this compact and elegant espresso machine! This is my first espresso machine - I had never made espresso in my life before getting this. It is so simple to use that with the press of a button I am making delicious espresso drinks. Everything is very well designed and that makes everything easier to use (and clean), even for a beginner. With my very first cup, I got that creamy layer of espresso crema on top. I didn’t even know that would happen, but so thrilled it did!! This has a built in adjustable whole bean grinder. I loaded it with decaf beans (it doesn’t need to use “espresso” beans. You can use any whole coffee beans as long as they’re not oily beans). It automatically grinds beans to the settings I choose before preparing each cup of espresso. It couldn’t be any more fresh and it tastes like it. The bean hopper seals tight to maintain the freshness. This unit has Wi-Fi to easily connect to the GE SmartHQ app (iOS or Android). With this app, I was able to customize my drink preferences and personalize the “MyCup” setting to make my own perfect espresso drink each time. For me, it’s more espresso shots and more water so the espresso isn’t too strong. Somewhat similar to an Americano - and that’s a one-button setting too. The built in steamer/frother wand allows me to make my milk (even Almond milk) bubbly and creamy. The wand also heats my milk so I’m not adding cold milk to my espresso drinks. I can even make tea because the frothing wand can also dispense hot water with the touch of a button. The dispensing spout is adjustable and slides up/down to accommodate various cup sizes. The only problem I’m having is that the buttons are so sensitive to touch that I activate them when not meaning to and have to quickly stop the process. I would highly recommend the Café Affetto Espresso machine to anyone looking to get an amazingly easy to make and great tasting espresso drink.

So I love a good expresso, but by no means am I an expert. I wasn't sure I was one of those people who could tell the difference between good and great expresso. So trying out the Café Affetto Espresso Machine, I was shocked. You really can tell. Right out of the gate, this machine is just so SLEEK and has the modern design aesthetic. It just fit well into the kitchen. The copper piece stands out and gives it a premium look. The build quality matches its aesthetic. It does not take up too much kitchen real estate. I just hoped that it made just as good of an expresso. So I love fidgeting with gadgets, but I thought it was going to be complicated using this one. I just did not have experience with expresso machines. Right off the bat, you need unground coffee beans. Can't get the already ground stuff. Then, you gotta play with the grind settings. Everyone has their own individual preferences. I liked the default grind size and set the grind time to the max. I would play around with the different combinations of size, time, and beans to find your sweet spot. All of these factors really do make a subtle difference. Once you find your favorite, you stick with it! I was really impressed with how easy it was and how good it tasted! Everything is just automatic. My dad who is an expresso aficionado, was also impressed with it. There are definitely better expresso machines out there, but the usability makes it worth it for the average person. The steam wand for your milk is also quick and easy to use. All in all, this is a great expresso machine for simple people like me. I think the strength lies in how easy it is to use and everythings just automated so there is less room for people like me to mess up on. Nothing beats waking up to a quick expresso in the morning.

Great espresso machine, fully automatic a little bulky but not too bad

It's a little loud but that's all I can say against it. I'm loving it so far.

I've had this machine replaced already for the steamer failing to foam properly, and the same problem is back again after just 2 months. I agree with the other great reviews when the machine works but after 2 months the steams magically stops producing a good foam for the latte. I've tried everything including descaling, running hot water through the steamer, etc, but nothing seems to return the steam wand to its original form. Make sure you purchase a warrantee with this thing if you choose to buy
