What can I say; it's Call of Duty-time again and this game while not groundbreaking is enough to keep the fanboys engaged and singing the CoD-praise song for another year. The story is never a high-point but the gameplay is straight out of last year's SledgeHammer games playbook from 'Advanced Warfare'. They've even thrown in Titanfall's wall run for good measure! Multiplayer is just as addictive as it's always been since the original Modern Warfare and though this all could've been an expansion pack... we get to pay another $60 bucks (plus $50 for season pass) because Activision made it so. I can't complain though, I picked up my copy of release day like we all did so what's that say about me?!

So I was hesitant on purchasing this years COD due to the last couple (AW & Ghosts) being horrible. However, I'm glad I did because this one is MUCH BETTER than the previous 2...

If you've never played black ops or black ops 2 or black ops 3 you are in for a treat my friend. These games are freaking awesome, top notch.... grade A.... you won't be disappointed i guarantee. This series is simply in a word phenomenal. Please make sure you buy all the DLC map packs and add-ons to complete the experience. Again you won't be disappointed I assure you.

Let me start this review by saying that I'm a seasoned Call of Duty vet who spent most of his adolescent years One Man Army noob-tubing in Modern Warfare 2. I've been there in the good times (Black Ops) and the bad (Ghosts and Advanced Warfare). Heres what I think of Black Ops 3: Pros: -Playing the campaign with friends is a lot of fun. This is the first time a Call of Duty has ever truly had a co-op option, and there's a decent amount of customization options to fit your playing style. -The multiplayer is actually FUN again. This is the best we've seen so far of the Pick 10 class system, and the wildcards are actually useful. The guns are good for the most part, and as far as I can tell from almost a week of playing, there isn't one go-to gun that dominates. -The scorestreaks are the best they've been since the killstreak days and all of them have counters. -The maps are good for the most part, but there's really not one map I can point to and say that it's my favorite (besides nuk3town of course). -They actually found a way to incorporate the supply drop system from Advanced Warfare without it being completely annoying, although it is still kind of annoying (more on this later). -Zombies mode has more customization options than ever. You can now customize how your guns will look in game, and the leveling system gives us yet another incentive to kill these undead beasts. -The frame rate is smooth and the colors are vibrant (at least for the PS4), way better than Ghosts and AW, which both looked whitewashed in my opinion. -The gun customization options are loads of fun. You can now create your own camo or add to one that already exists, which I find as a great outlet for players to be creative. Cons: -The campaign dialogue is the worst we've seen yet. Quite honestly the game sounds like it was made for 12 year olds. The corny jokes and juvenile subtleties make this game's dialogue almost impossible to listen to without cringing. -The spawns are still Call of Duty spawns. I know us fans are still hoping for that miracle CoD to come along and have perfect spawn points, but the odds of that happening are becoming less and less likely. I've been spawn trapped and killed within 3 seconds of my spawn far too many times for my liking. -Grenades are WAY too powerful. Not only lethal, which we've seen in other Trayarch games, but tactical as well. Tactical Mask and Flak Jacket are a must. -Another installment of Zombies in which the developers are trying way too hard to make it complicated. Build this, activate that. I, for one, play Zombies mode to kill zombies and have fun with friends, not worry about ridiculous riddles you have to solve to activate perk machines. And one more thing, can they PLEASE just put the pack-a-punch machine back on the map? I'm tired of looking for parts to put it together. -Last but not least, they completely stripped your character customization options to a bare minimum. You can change the gear your individual specialist is wearing but you cannot create your own character or change the appearance of the default characters. The emblem creation system is the worst it's ever been, as there's now a large chunk of symbols you have to get in supply drops (-_-) to unlock. Besides the fore mentioned gun customization, the options just don't meet my standards. All in all, the latest installment of Call of Duty is indeed fun to play, but it's not without its annoyances, something Call of Duty as a whole simply can't seem to rid itself of.

The biggest, if not best, Call of Duty game yet. Black Ops 3 offers great multiplayer (with perfect balance in maps and weapons) and an ambitious campaign -sometimes confusing- with coop mode for 4 players. Zombies, Free Run mode, Nightmare mode and Dead Ops Arcade complete this experience, which seems too familiar for veteran players.

Black Ops III is a great game for any fan of Call of Duty. The new movement mechanics are more fluid and feel so much better than they did in Advanced Warfare. I found the main campaign to be decent enough to play through and enjoy. The zombies are fun and the maps are big, they are similar to the map, Origins, because it was complicated and rewarding, a total blast with friends. More importantly, the bread and butter of the game, online multiplayer is as fun as its ever been. Honestly, this is the most fun I've had in multiplayer since Black Ops II, Treyarch did it again. If you found Black Ops II to be great, but feel that maybe Ghosts or Advanced Warfare hit that mark for you, you'll be happy to know that Black Ops III is great fun.
